Keep living in your fantasy land.. The iphone 8 has been dethroned and the Iphone X IS KING. It is Apple's flagship phone, so have fun enjoying an outdated OLD phone while the rest of us stay with the times.

Bet you switch from that 8 again LOL

Bet I will not go back. Returned my X in three days and could not be more happy to be back into an 8+. I can not blame you for defending your purchase, the X is a fine phone, just not for me.

So you ignore facts about how flickering causes headaches and eye fatigue and go for a personal attack. Seems logical once you realize how wrong you are. But it's okay, lucky for you I deal with idiot fanboys almost daily.

Now I go to your level...

Tell me what your phone does better than my 2 year old 6S Plus. You run the same OS as me, have the same apps, and the same services. So essentially you paid $1,000+ for a piece of software inside a different frame. We can open apps just as fast, take pictures just as fast, send messages/emails just as fast, wireless speeds are just as fast, cameras take the same pictures,etc..

So tell me, what can your $1,000+ 6 day old iPhone X do BETTER than my 2+ year old iPhone 6S Plus?

Because when I returned my X, even the manager of the Apple store agreed and said they both do the same thing in the same way at the same speed when it comes down to it.

Wrong, flagship phone > outdated phablet. Least my phone fits in my pocket and you act like 1k is a lot of money, HA. thats a good one too. OUTDATED, OUTMATCHED, NOT superior. ;)

They might run the same OS but the iPhone X and 6s Plus are years (2 actually) apart in terms of technical capability and advancement. The SOC for example (which you also have in an 8 Plus ) is vastly superior and actually dictates that you can't do things 'just as fast' as an older device.

Saying the X/8 Plus can't do anything better than a 6s Plus is about as sensible as saying in 2015 the 6s Plus couldn't do anything faster/better than a 5s, which is obviously complete garbage.

I'm not going to dig into just what the iPhone X or any other 2017 iPhone can do better than a 6s Plus, but the answer is pretty much everything.

TL;DR - Stop being salty, don't buy the iPhone X, stop trying to justify incorrect garbage and be happy with the phone you have.

Really? Because you can look up literally pages of YouTube videos which show side by side comparisons and when it comes to every day tasks of opening apps, sending messages, taking pictures, etc... The phones perform exactly the same. Where does new hardware win? Only in useless tasks which do not effect the average user such as boot up times or rendering a video.

If you truly think that a 2 year difference of a chip makes a difference then why does iOS on Apple's newest and best hardware still lag and drop frames? I'll tell you why, because the hardware isn't the problem the software is. The 6S and X are both extremely capable devices which can blow away benchmarks. But when it comes to basic tasks, which are done every day by over one billion average consumers, there is absolutely no noticeable difference. If you think I'm wrong then there is something wrong with you. Put the two phones side by side and open an app. They both open and do the same thing within fractions of a second from each other and in certain cases the 6S will beat the X.

Also, why would I be salty? I had an X on release day and returned it 4 days later cause it was nothing new or better than what I have.

Instead of arguing about which is best, we should be celebrating that Apple gives its users more choices that any other.
Choice is good , but i think the iphone line is becoming far too fragmented
There needs to be a good balance

That is alway a choice that is available to everyone.

No because I used to enjoy and love getting a new iPhone/iOS that actually gave me new and better features. Now we get new and different only for the sake of being different. There is nothing better about the last 3 generations of phones.

Trust me, no eye doctor. Is the PWM dimming, an old and dangerous implementation, no excuses for Apple.

i wonder how many people effected by this and actually bought a phone that gives them migraine :(
how could apple not address this PRE production? they just took the risk of messing with people's heads for a year until the come up with a solution? unless it's a tiny % of people.

How annoying was it having to swipe up to unlock the phone?
Doesn’t seem very intuitive at all

The most annoying thing isn't that, but the swipe and stop to bring up the app switcher and then the fact that you have to hold down on the apps and then hit the red - or swipe them away is.

They don't care they got your $1,000+ for you to beta test their product.

With getting rid of the home button there had to be sacrifices.

I got to leave the marketing up to Apple. My IRA has made a butt full of money and I can not argue with them over their marketing skills!

Every post you have done on this site is defending the X in some way or another and bashing the 8's. You saw the huge topic of people returning it, I don't need to say any more.

So far the 8 plus is looking to be the better phone and why people are returning the X's.

You are flat out lying. I have not bashed the iPhone 8 in any posts. Never. I have an iPhone 8 Plus. I prefer the X. YOU are the one going around bashing products. YOU keep bashing the X.

You both are delusional. You want to argue the merits of your choice, fine, but to lie and bash other people's choice is just silly. I'm done arguing. Enjoy your phone of choice or don't.

So tell me, what can your $1,000+ 6 day old iPhone X do BETTER than my 2+ year old iPhone 6S Plus? Notice I said better, not different.

Hypocritical, no? You accuse somebody of defending the X as thought it's a bad thing, then you turn around and start defending the 8. Need I say more?

No, but I will. The fact that people think an older (some would say 4 year old) design phone with a larger screen a smaller battery is better is purely down to personal opinion. The fact of the matter is, the X represents the direction Apple are going in, takes some risks, and represents change. Some people don't like change so they go and get an 8/8+ because the X wasn't out and it sounded like ages so got impatient, then when it comes out they feel the need to bash it because they spent money on a phone that looks absolutely no different in a case to a phone created 4 years ago. That doesn't make it classic, it makes it boring.

Hey, I'm an SE user so I've got no beef either way. My X arrives tomorrow and I'l enjoy it regardless because it will be a step up from my phone in every regard except hand-feel because the SE is pretty much perfect as something to hold in the hand as a phone and use as a phone. But, I do need a bigger screen. Absolutely no way would I want a phone as wide and tall as the plus though, even if it had twice the battery and all the features of the X and more. As far as large phones go the X has hit the top end of the sweet spot.

Be interesting to see all the plus users bashing the X right now all gush about how chuffed they are about their XL or whatever next year, where suddenly it's waaaaaay better than their beloved plus, the notch becomes a non-issue, and FaceID is oh-so-suddenly way more convenient than Touch ID...

Except this thread is for people who are using a Plus sized phone and enjoy the benefits of it. So in your case from an SE to an X it is an upgrade, but from a Plus to an X it's a downgrade

Also I had an X and returned it because of all it's shortcomings.
