I agree with you that versatility is a good thing. Where I disagree is having both Touch ID and Face ID. The reason being has nothing to do with versatility or convenience. If that is all it was then sure, put them both on a phone. My issue is with security. Your phone is only secure as the least secure security input/biomet is device. In this sense, it only makes sense to use one or the other. I suppose Apple could still put both on the phone and the user could chose to disable Touch ID if they don’t want to use it, but we shouldn’t be giving Apple even more reasons to increase the retail price of their products.

8+ seems to be the superior phone over the X

What a joke. 8 plus is already antiquated compared to the X. Apple did an awesome job with the X and it is far and away the best iPhone. X feels futuristic and 8 plus and older feel out of of date now. Only thing I give you is 8 plus is wider. Apple did an awesome job with the X and everyone I know that has one feels the same. My 7 plus compared to the my X looks ancient now. And good riddance home button and Touch ID. Face ID blows them away.
The X is a joke and heres why the aspect ratio is horrible the pinch to zoom cuts videos off and its way to tall and narrow my 7 plus was better white balance my X has horrible yellow tint, i like the new ui but face id doesnt work half the time unless its direct in your face and cant lay it on the table its just flawed the speakers are no where as good as the 8 plus i know everyone wants to think x is better but its not and apple has made a lot of downgrade with this phone
Have you personally used the X for an extended period of time (since Friday) or are you just speculating?
I've owned it since Friday and its been a beauty to use. First day there were some struggles figuring things out but I love this phone and it is much better than my last one (7).
Please do not tell anyone but I am returning my X today and going back to the 8+!

iPhone 6, 7, 8 has a design, that is highly inferior and old compared to the competition.

I think we both could if we worked at it but I want my plus iPhone back! It was so "comfortable"!
The X is slick but getting way too many errors on the smaller keyboard.
Of all that's written here, they all amount to personal preference.
I'm happy with my X, and if someone doesn't like the X, then Apple offers the 8. I don't think one phone is better then another and that sort of argument is counter productive.
Just cos theres no bezels doesnt mean its futuristic the 8 plus might have same design but theres more to a phone than just the look its how it works and acts
What it looks like is irrelevant to me. My iPhone is no fashion statement. The Plus size iPhone also has it's advantages.
It’s all personal preference. In some aspects I like it better than tiny 8+ but I think as a complete device, the 8+ is better. The X has a few shortcomings that needs to be addressed. Slight yellowing of screen temperature is a let down and the cropping of videos is just hideous. I do still

Yeah exactly, also so many big apps arnt made for the x yet so they all look small the plus screen is brighter and better white balance oled is terrible at viewing angles
It does make me laugh when people instantly brand the non-X form factor as archaic and obsolete (apart from having to research what obsolete actually means). It's no less functional than it was before. Add to this that the 8 Plus has 90% of the features of the X, makes it even less archaic or obsolete.
I went with the 8 Plus. I have no beef with people who bought the X... fair play, I know many. I just can't stand the mis-informed numpties trying to brainwash people .... For years everyone complained of not having a larger screen. Apple releases the 5. For years they complained of smaller screens. Apple releases the Plus. For years people complained of huge bezels. Apple releases the X.
People are still complaining.
If you’re looking for justification in your 8 Plus purchase, you’re doing it wrong. Pick what works for YOU!
I had a 7 Plus and got the X. I love it in every way and then some. It’s a great device that fits my wants and needs. I’m very happy with the size, screen, tech and the all around compact package. It’s excellent!

Because we have an opinion i waited 13 hours to get the x but it's to narrow and yellow hue tint its horrible

This is why their are choices. Pick what bed suites your needs and wants.
Of course it's a matter of opinion that the 8 Plus looks outdated or that it's antiquated compared to the X. I just saw a YouTube comparison between the 8+ and X by Sakitech and the most liked comments are from people who bought the Plus over the X. To me, that says a lot. I have this strange feeling that the 8 Plus will do better than expected sales wise compared to the X which is simply priced too high for what it has to offer.

X wins for me. The 8+ is a fine phone. but the form factor is too big for me. I don’t want to carry around or hold a mini mini iPad. I am loving the Face ID and the gestures and the X; Face ID works much better for me and I do not miss home button at all. Would happily say goodbye to it on my other devices, too.

It’s all so confusing. I’ve won my case with the husband for an upgrade but really can’t make my mind up. I have a 7+ which I love and I had my mind set on the X. The only thing putting me off is screen size. I do like the big phone and haven’t been able to see a X in the flesh yet to compare but it seems to be significantly smaller. But not sure I can bring myself to go through the expense of upgrading for an 8+...
So anyone that has a negative opinion is a troll lol the problem on this forum if someone doesnt like what soneone says they get labeled a troll
