Now before you attack me, here are some reasons why i feel this way
* Bigger phone
* Better battery
* benchmarks are impressive
* touch ID is hard to get rid of
* Fixing the X is highly expensive
* no home button.

i have felt also your same sensations, and today i will sale my x, i just bought again an 8+ yesterday.

you forgot to mention about better keyboard, more width, better audio, cheaper, no ir on your eyes, no oled burn in neither scrolling effect, better touch (scrolling fluid)....
just better!

It’s all so confusing. I’ve won my case with the husband for an upgrade but really can’t make my mind up. I have a 7+ which I love and I had my mind set on the X. The only thing putting me off is screen size. I do like the big phone and haven’t been able to see a X in the flesh yet to compare but it seems to be significantly smaller. Not sure I can bring myself to go through the expense of upgrading for an 8+...

Try it out first, and try it out with apps that are optimized for the X. Do NOT go by any opinion of people on here, and form your own opinion before you make a decision.

I don’t agree. I won’t get into all of the points but battery life for example.

The X gets better battery life than my 7 plus which already has great life.

Bigger phone in what respect?

8plus is a lot better than 7plus.
i have got both and i just choice 8plus for this reason

All your points are subjective. You're convincing yourself that you'll be better off with your 8+ but nobody believes you.
i believe him, because i feel the same

I'm on day 3 on my X and I still have my 8 Plus. It seems like color-wise, the X is softer than the 8 Plus. I really can't see a difference in terms of picture resolution. I like the fact that IG pics are bigger on the 8 Plus. I like the form factor of the X but I find the screen a bit small and the UI, especially the task switcher, horrific. I will give it the 14-day run and decide whether to return the X or not.

Soon as I threw a case on the X, the screen suddenly got a lot less desirable looking. Without the case, the full screen effect is there and makes quite the difference especially if apps have been updated for X. So if using a case, may as well get the 8 series. This is probably the main thing having me consider keeping the X at this point. Going caseless with it.

I'm still undecided though leaning toward returning and getting an 8 Plus. Someone should run a poll asking about the home indicator line. It needs to go.

I Blue shift, burn in, less life, more fragile (stops working in a drop test), super yellow for many people, and the list goes on. The X is about the same weight as the + and the black + actually looks sleeker than past + models and feels super premium with it's glass back. I am liking the 8+ way more than the X.

mine was superyellow and also i remember that closing an application took a lot of time compared to +

Of course it's a matter of opinion that the 8 Plus looks outdated or that it's antiquated compared to the X. I just saw a YouTube comparison between the 8+ and X by Sakitech and the most liked comments are from people who bought the Plus over the X. To me, that says a lot. I have this strange feeling that the 8 Plus will do better than expected sales wise compared to the X which is simply priced too high for what it has to offer.

LOL at deferring to You Tube commentators as good authority for anything.

The top comment there by Nakuro shows they have not even used an X and are only recycling rumours or assumptions.

1. You do not need to stare at your phone for Face ID;

2. Unlocking with a swipe is a smooth process, you can swipe while it is already unlocking;

3. Do not understand their comments on IOS. That is an IOS issue, I don’t get why IOS would crash on X but not 8+? And if they are comparing an X to a 6 or something and saying X is still crashing or more laggy than they are just full of lies;

4. Yes, OLED screens can get burn in but only time will tell as Apple has taken steps to mitigate risk, I am not worried about it;

5. Yes 8+ battery is bigger so replicating same use - and apps, background refresh, on each you will do better on 8+, but so what? Battery % at end of night depends on use. I have never had to worry about my battery.....on any phone. I was at 70% on X at end of last night as I was working more than on my phone yesterday. Do I win? No, because who the **** cares?

6. I can also see my battery percentage anytime I like, with a gesture. But I disable percentage on status bar of most of my devices anyway as I am not that obsessive about percentage. I will know when it gets low, or can check anytime.

Having both the 8+ and the X I have noticed that things are a smoother on the 8+. The X needs a good update. There is some small lag here and there that isn’t present on the 8+. Both are great phones and you can’t go wrong picking up ether.

a lot smoother

I certainly hope not, because I am the main breadwinner and bill payer of my family whom just purchased the 8 and 8+ for my husband and son. I preordered the X for myself, with a current ship date of Dec 1-8 I might add. I think I deserve the superior phone in the family so I hope the X is it, Selfish? Maybe that is why I must suffer the ridiculous wait time for my new gadget :(

Not sharing any of these concerns either. I'm ready for screen burn in with an X plus..lol Face ID was very good. The main concerns to me are simply UI choices, lack of 32bit apps (not an X problem but ios 11), and who knows how long of a wait on other apps to be updated. Simply put, the iphone 8 or 8 Plus has none of these problems as ios (and apps) are best optimized for these devices. However, we knew that going in and being early adopters that these things would be there. There's no wrong way to go this year. Be an early adopter if you're more about hardware or wait for things to get tweaked out for next year.

Honestly, you need to hold, Touch and see the phone if you’re on the fence. See if it’s something you would like. Don’t go by opinions here.

I went from a 7 Plus to an X and absolutely love it. Nice not having that huge phone anymore but I still get a large screen that’s beautiful. Love the look and feel. The notch, just fades away. There are little touches that the X has, that I like.

Now if they come out with an X Plus next year, will I jump all over it? Damn right I will. Lol

Everything you mention is better on the X, except for battery life. That's the same for me. Face ID and gestures are better than Touch ID and home button, already.
Battery life for me is better on the X. My old 6+ would last 1 day and half. Now that the indexing on my device is complete my X after a full day battery is on 40%.

Perspective. That's what I would say about this and many other posts trying to compare and contrast the X against the competition as well as existing Apple product offerings. I upgraded from the 7+ to the 8+, not planning on purchasing the X. Why? I wasn't sure about the X. Would Face ID be an issue? Would removing the home button be a problem? Last Friday, I decided to take the leap. I did instore pickup with Verizon and got the silver X. When comparing the two, the 8+ and X, it's like comparing apples and oranges. To say it's the greatest phone Apple has ever made is purely perspective. It's a completely different phone than the 8 or 8+. Face ID is different than Touch ID. Both have advantages and disadvantages. Personally, I'm impressed. That's not saying I've not tried to push on the bottom out of habit. I thought Touch ID was good when it was first released, but kind of pain at times. Over time, it got better. I'm sure Face ID will improve too. The screen. It's impressive, but then again, so is the 8+. The technology is different. The 8+ screen is wonderful and improved over the 7+. The X screen is very nice too. I like it better and better each day. Both devices are screaming fast. At the end of the day, the X is a whole new device and honestly, experience. Some will like it, some won't. Hopefully everyone gets the phone they want and like it.

That's awesome. It's hard for me to judge on after the last couple days. I just keep dropping it on my wireless charging cradles while at my desk.

It doesn't matter to me if my battery life lasts longer than a day because I charge it while I sleep regardless.

Btw...I do see that secondary surge in iphone 8 sales happening. Not satisfied with X, go get that 8 plus. Regardless, people are still feeling that urge to go upgrade or salvage something out of being unsatisfied with the X. They even feel good about it because they didn't have to spend a grand on it like the X. Apple doesn't care which one you buy. That 8 Plus which didn't seem too great a month ago now looks like the best thing ever. Gotta have it..lol

I'm sure its been mentioned..but sorry I cant find the brick of an 8+ around at work in my uniform etc. For this reason alone the form factor of the X is way above the 8+. I tried the 8+ for a week and had to return it. It was a great phone, but just too large for what I needed.

So anyone that has a negative opinion is a troll lol the problem on this forum if someone doesnt like what soneone says they get labeled a troll
I have no negative opinions. The X is a beautiful phone. It just needs work since it is gen 1

1: Is there a reason you wrote the post in that nearly unreadable font?

2: Not everything you listed is a plus for everyone, you know. I don’t like bigger phones, I can’t comfortably use or hold them. I’m also already so used to the lack of a home button that I keep swiping up on my older iDevices. And I much prefer Face ID.

3. Thanks for sharing your opinion, just don’t act as if it’s fact, and I’ll be happy that you’re happy.
He didn’t act like it was fact. He said clearly he was stating how he felt. Wow, can we give one another room to breathe?

Naturally any first GEN product is going to vastly improve as it continues to mature and become more refined. The iPhone X is just a starting point of what is to become.

I’m so sick of seeing posts like this. The X is a completely diffenent and newer device like what the hell are people talking about?? Better camera. Truer colors. Bigger display. Face ID. Better battery life. Design is cleaner. Like what are people talking about???
If you're going to argue, get your facts straight.
