CPW is out of stocks. What about o2 stores? I waited this time long and my friend is going to UK tonight. But they stopped selling. What great new. Please say that O2 did not stop selling. :(:(:(

I signed up with ATT 2 days ago and got a cheap Nokia 6126 to tie me over until the 3G iphone comes out. My Trio 650 (Sprint) is now off and out of contract.

As I payed 0 for the Nokia, the sooner the iPhone comes out the better.

same here, joined the AT&T ranks last week with a free LG phone. can't wait till June or whenever the new guy comes out.

I hope anyone doesn't get their hopes up for having a new iPhone before June. There is obviously going to be talk about it at WWDC, and plus, there hasn't been anything that has gone through the FCC that has been announced.
And what about the 16GB iPhone in the UK?

It's been proven though that FCC-approval can be "announced" the day of launch. So that's really a non-issue.

I think all signs point to a 16GB/32GB 3G iPhone Launch within the next month w/ 2.0 software. The Stockholder Q&A didn't even bother denying 3G rumors...they just said "we don't comment on unannounced products"...so it's coming...pretty soon!

First post!:D
I've been very happy with my 8gig iPhone. But its a major memory bump that is my main wish. 3G as part of new 32 gig iPhone would simply be a bonus. The ability to have one device to carry that provides phone and music and movie playback has been a god send with quiet nights at work. I'd like have more choice of films to pick from the phone to play via the displays at work.

If the iPhone does go 32gb that means that the iPod Touch would have to jump to 64. To differentiate the touch it should technically always have double the memory than the iPhone.

I think its great how so many people who already have an iphone are going to "upgrade" to the newer model when it comes out. Should be easy for apple to reach the 10M mark when 20% (just a guess) of current users will be buying new ones :p

Hopefully O2 will sell the 3G at £169 from day one now they have realised how much more money they will make.

I am a bit gutted - had it 4 days and already it's "vintage".

Still, I have a 16GB Touch and I will never fill that - so I wouldn't pay an extra £161 for an iPhone with the same storage.

Out of the 7.2GB, 3.6GB is still available, with all my vids, pics etc. Don't need 3G as 02 don't have EDGE coverage where I live let alone 3G and as it's hacked I couldn't use it anyway without paying a fortune on my PAYG SIM.

All I want is Bluetooth transfer, and the ability to rotate pictures taken in landscape mode and save them rotated.

My god! I still have a 4 Gig one. Am I a dinosaur or what!!

You're less-than-one-year-old phone is obsolete and useless. It's your duty as an American and a consumer to ditch your ancient technology (remember--don't recycle!!) and purchase the latest and greatest product the moment Steve says, "boom."

If you don't buy the 3G iPhone than Al Qaeda has already won.

:p

Isnt there already a marked difference...ones just an iPod and the other is a iPhone???

If O2 and CPW are EOLing it (I suspect the supply chains are related - certainly CPW force you to take out an O2 contract before they'll let you leave the shop with an iphone, so there's some relationship there) then it only means that they have stopped selling it. My bet was it wasn't selling in sufficient numbers to be profitable for them and there's more to be made on the 16gb version... the margins are higher, and as an ipod it makes more sense.

It actually says nothing about what apple are doing at all. You'll still be able to buy them from apple stores until steve says otherwise I'd expect.

I want a 1 TB one!

Actually I could see one use case for this. Insert 11n networking, then allow the iPhone to act as a TimeMachine :)
So everytime you come close to a Mac you can restore files from your iPhone easily...
Of course if you loose your iPhone that would be a major issue. But you can blank them now remotely ;)

I managed to get one of the last few 8GB iPhones about an hour and a half ago from an O2 store. They didn't have any iPhones on display anywhere in the store, just empty iphone docks and cables. I can report that as of 4:30pm the O2 store in Brighton only had 19 8GB iPhones left.

they didn't force me or even mention it.

Are you sure? They should have done.. it's part of the deal... the employee who did that probably got into trouble. The only place to get them without signing up is the apple store.

CPW seem to make all their money on contracts - hence the reason you can't get out of one without the 10 minute 'talktalk is great' speech. These days I cross the street if I see one... It's not the employees fault (I've know people who've worked there for a time, and they get as much **** as they give) but I'd certainly blame the one that signed me up for an expensive talktalk contract by slipping it in the middle of a bunch of vodafone ones, especially after I'd explicitly told him I wasn't interested. Sore point that...

Wow, consider yourself lucky. I have taken an alternative approach to movies on the iPhone. I rip movies in full quality and use for both iPhone and ATV (see sticky under Apple TV forum). My movies are 2.5GB to 4GB depending on amount of action in the movie. I can get one movie and my music on my old 8GB iPhone that I sold. I can't wait for a 32 GB iPhone. If they don't do it now I will buy the 16GB 3G iPhone.
