if any of you guys are having herky, jerky screen lag issues try resetting the network preferences... solved the issue on my 6s+

Well it has made both my iPhone 6s and Air 2 feel like a cheap android. Had to go back to the Apple Store today because I could get the compass app to work, even after resetting it and setting up as new it didn't work.

I'm on my 4th iPhone 6s since Friday, first one died during 9.0.1 update, the second had a dark shadow along the top of the screen and the headphone jack crackled and now I had the problem with the compass. All the replacements were new phones and not refurbished.

Perhaps because we have a tendency to use our phones more immediately after an update causes the battery to discharge quicker than we're used to.

That is true in most cases but this time I will agree it is going down. I updated last night and am barely using my 6s plus and the drop is noticeable compared to 9.0.1. Standby is fine but as soon as I start using the phone it is a constant 1% drop. I just dropped 4% in 15 min with light usage, text and Twitter that's it. No videos, music, browser, nothing. Yesterday it would've dropped 1 maybe 2% max. This update is draining. I've made no changes from 9.0.1 to 9.0.2. Apple really pisses me off with this crap. How can such a minimal update impact battery drainage so bad!

I can only imagine what 9.1 final will bring
New functionalities so maybe new bugs .... iOS 9.1 won't be just a refinement.
Experiencing pages that load blank in safari -happens with nj.com and usa government jobs website. Cant remember the other sites

I am curious where the hell did this indexing rumor come from? If you upgrade to a newer IOS version, is the dam OS not already indexed from the past indexing if such a thing exists in IOS?

If you do a fresh install or buy a new device like for example the mini 4 and set it up as new device and redo everything from scratch, what the hell would the OS index besides cache the files that were already installed and cached and indexed when they flashed it to the device at the factory?

Its not indexing every-time you turn the thing on and do a reboot, and right at the beginning is when IOS9 crap lags and hitches until its all loaded under ram then it smooths out! (kind of like Android, hmm makes you think)

When you reboot any device with older hardware and IOS8 it doesn't lag or hitch at all even at the beginning when you first see the lock-screen and or unlock, and then still its butter smooth for everything without touch delays, app delays and apps taking longer to load on IOS9 in general compared to IOS8 which they over time were optimized for!

Seriously, did an APPLE engineer verified and certified state officially IOS9 is slow or lags and the excuse is just because temporarily the OS is "doing this magical indexing thing" and whenever its done whether in minutes, hours, days, months or years; IOS9 will be so much better and faster than IOS8 with even more added features a lot of us did not need?

I do not get it, because however you installed IOS8, upgraded, or bought a new device, if it was doing this "magical indexing process", the device (on IOS8) did not act up and slow down to a crawl, so if this thing is true, why would IOS9 act up and slow down to a crawl?

Some of the BS people come up with as an excuse for why IOS9 does not work like IOS8 is unbelievable!

Not pointing fingers, just generalizing and conveying my thoughts on this subject!
Calm down mate.
In my experience iOS 9 is slightly better than iOS 8 in every aspect.

The indexing 'rumour' is related to apps that have spotlight search and deep links (which is continuity related) - we are going to see iOS 9 give 'bad battery' for a while as apps are updated day by day, week by week.

For example Evernote introduced a new iOS version last week with spotlight search, which shortly after installing made my phone run hot and the battery run down quickly. The next day was exceptional from a battery perspective, no different behaviour from the previous day except no app upgrades applied.

This is unfortunately a consequence of this new ios9 functionality - apple could do a better job of making it clearer or perhaps only indexing when on power and not battery.

You have a good point. Maybe "indexing" is a misused word. Maybe caching would be more appropriate.

I am not an IOS expert in anyway, so correct me if I am wrong with my following understanding: In Itunes, when you look at your device storage usage, you will see an "other" amount. If you do a itunes restore, and then restore your old data on top of the fresh ios install, you will notice the "other" amount shrinks - I have cleaned up 1 - 3 GB of storage this way. As we know, the "other" portion contains cached or indexed information about individual apps, maybe also ios specific data. When you do an ios upgrade of your device, especially doing a restore from itunes, you are basically wiping your device free of the cache or "other". Then you restore your previous backup on top of the fresh ios install and now all the cached info for all your apps are missing on your device - only the basic settings and configuration remain. So now whenever you open up the app or some settings for the first few times, it has to rebuild that base cache/indexing portion - thus a lag. That will happen initially, but once the cache or "other" portion has been built up by regularly visiting those apps or pages, the apps now have info cached away and the lag disappears.

Can't comment on 9.0.2 yet as I set my iTunes to download the full 1.8gig version (rather than the 60 mb OTA update) and everyone must have been overloading Apples servers and when I went to bed it was still showing about 12 hours left to complete the download. Crazy. All done when I got up but no time to perform the reinstall before work.

Still haven't fixed the bug on Ipad Air where the volume slider disappears after awakened by the smart cover.

Battery seems slightly worse on my 6s plus but nothing major.

For some reason the app store keeps asking for my touch id when downloading free apps, really pissing me off

I'm definitely getting worse battery life than 9.0.1!

Is there anyway I can downgrade while keeping all my apps, settings and data?

I posted a couple days ago about this but decided to give it a couple days. As of this morning mine is still going down faster than 9.0.1 on my 6s plus. In standby its fine but holy hell as soon as I start doing anything on it, it's a constant 1% drop to the point of about 4-5% every 15-20 minutes. There is definitely something going on in this update behind the scenes. I made no settings changes, didn't add any apps between the upgrade of 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 so it is extremely easy for me to tell the difference. At this point I just hope they hurry up with either 9.0.3 or 9.1. I am not enjoying this new phone on this update at all.

Have you tried a full cycle discharge and charge? So drain your phone down until it auto-shuts off from low battery, then give it a uninterrupted full charge. That will recalibrate the battery meter.
