Ouch sorry to hear that!!!:eek::oops::oops:

What do you think you going to do now??
[doublepost=1458682175][/doublepost]

I really hope not!!

Do as I originally planned, get the 9.7" iPad Pro with Pencil support which I've wanted for years. I am somewhat angry that it tops out at 2 GB, but my Air 2 absolutely flew and this will be 2x as fast. I won't be quick to update iOS so I think this device will serve me for years.

I'm not sure I understand the whining about the 2GB of RAM in the iPad Pro 9.7". Over the years Apple has shown how far software optimisation goes regardless of tech specs. Time and time again, iOS devices outperform far more beefy Android variants with much better hardware. Hell, my iPhone 6 only has 1GB of RAM and it smashes anything I throw at it.

The new iPad Pro will be a day one purchase for me. Don't let something like RAM spoil it for you, forget about the specs and just use it.

Call me old fashioned - isn't it proper to do the editing on a iMac/Macbook?? o_O (full features and all)

I'd say it's proper to do your work with whatever tool you have. And nowadays, iPads are powerful enough to do it. 3 streams of 4K, apparently, with the 12.9 isn't an outlandish request.

Can't way too see a bill of material regarding iPhone SE and read again smart comments about how much Apple put an effort on R&D on this product

You mean the estimates that are based on guesswork?

I was looking forward to the new smaller iPad pro. Will go in and try one when in store. Will likely buy one. The iPhone SE really is looking like a Home Run for Apple. May try out one of those too. We'll see if I get the impulse to buy either or both when actually try them out in store.

I know this has already been discussed, but I think it has less to do with price and more to do with people not needing to refresh them very often. It's still easily the best selling tablet on the market.

Good point and I agree. I just don't think that raising the price is going to stimulate sales with what they have added. I still think the Air 2 looks much more appealing for $200 less.

So Apple named the new 9.7 iPad "Pro," and only gave it 2 GB of RAM (instead of 4 in the IPad Pro), down-clock the A9X processor, and gave it a much slower charging and data transfer USB 2 connector instead of the ultra-fast USB 3 lightning connector on the iPad Pro!!!

AND, there's no increase in the screen's pixel density either. Yet Apple decided to raise the entry price of the new 9.7 iPad by $100.

When will the media be able to find the honesty to stand up and call out Apple for their arrogance???

Then shouldn't the pro jr. get double the ram of the se? Based on that?

The pro jr is more in line size wise with the ipad pro than the se.

I'm no engineer, however is it likely that the SSD in this iPad Pro is faster, along with DDR4 RAM? Therefore, making a large amount of RAM unnecessary for "Pro performance", no?

He'll need a hell of a lot of money.

I've never seen this video before - CRINGING BADLY NOW. I want to see Dr. Dre throw a party at Apple. Lol, 40's, bikini clad women, chronic vaping everywhere, and for sure you know that Eddie Cue would have his shirt unbuttoned even lower, bumping and grinding on some sales associate.

Stand by. Some don't get that point and figure as long as it is at least useable what does it matter that they didn't spec it as a pro but call it one and raise the price. What they actually give you for the money is irrelevant, what matters is the apple emblem on the outside.

One detrimental caveat to all of this....now developers will most likely not utilize the capabilities of having 4 GB of ram in the pro 12.9 inch since more buyers will probably have the 9.7 pro...this may decrease the "pro" effect even more....so we all suffer

And some just want to see how it actually runs professional level things before deciding if it's not Pro enough.

First we get the news that 9.7 Pro will be limited to USB 2 transfer speeds and now we're seeing it has half the RAM

Yeah, a bit disappointing. My 2014 Chromebook has USB 3.0 and 2GB of Ram. I know iOS is 'highly optimised' to run on less Ram but then so is the Linux distro I use on it. Come on Apple, if you want me to give up my laptop at least give me a device that can actually compete with what I already have.

Actually this won't happen. This will only make better devs to manage their apps more efficiently. Having 4GB of ram is major headroom but when you are a dev and have only 2GB to work with you will think more about handling your stuff properly.

This is how the Japanese work. They don't waste anything!

Pure speculation, then wouldn't the same be true for the se phone? If they were using faster memory and storage space then they would still be putting the same amount of memory in the smallest entry level phone that they put in an ipad labeled "pro".
