ok, so today's (31october) update is a real one, and seems to fix the problem. that annoying message was simply the (insistent) trailer for today's release 🤔

With so many issues with iOS this year, I try to ignore it like everything else. The only solution I found is to use my backup android phone when my frustration reaches the apex of the critical list. I tried downloading the so-called golden master but for some reason, my iPhone won't take it. I'm reminded of the old Apple slogan 'It Just Works'. Sadly, those days are long gone. 🙈

I personally haven't had a raft of issues, and since this is discussing the beta, yes the pop-up is annoying, but that's all it is. I think "just works" is highly dependent on one's usage patterns and always has been.

Yeah, that's kinda why I prefaced—'my frustration'. Ever since I ran over one of my AirPods Pro in the garage and lost my prescription sunglasses on the same day, I developed a low frustration point.
Moreover, those of us that have been with Apple since shortly after Woodstock know they can do a better job. ☮️

Woodstock = 1969
Apple I = 1976
“Shortly after” lol

I have 14.2 (18B5083a) and I am still receiving this annoying notification.

You should make sure you still have the beta profile installed and then check for updates -- there should be a new update to the release candidate available that was recently released that should take care of the issue:

It’s gone with new update

Yea, that’s been stated in this thread a lot, plus it’s included in the first post, which is the front page article, plus there another front page article about the update, that confirms it’s fixed too. 🙂 Not hard to miss.

Beta was removed before I upgraded to the latest version. Worked fine on the iPhone X, didn’t work on this old iPad Air 2.

Well, you weren't posting to anyone specifically, looks like you just came to post that it was sorted with the new update, but we already have posts stating what you did over the last 2 pages, that was my point :)

Ok, after removing an earlier beta, I installed the update and the pop-up persisted. After installing the latest beta, the pop-up disappeared. I only needed to do this for my iPad Air too. I didn’t have to go through this additional step by installing the latest beta for the iPhone X. Thank you for your reply.

I'm not complaining. Just stating how the bug has evolved!

I totally agree that of you trial something you live with the annoying bugs without whinging! 😂
But I don't remember one in the years of betas as annoying as this one. Second place would probably be when none of the remotes were working in CC or the app and our actual one was buried in the couch somewhere. At least it motivated me to finally find it.

You seem like a glass half full kinda guy 👍

Soooo... I removed beta profile, in software update I have installed iOS 14.2

Message pops everytime I unlock my iPhone and everytime I down the curtain with notifications.

What can I do? Besides making backup and rolling back, because I don't have enough space anywhere nor time to do this.

Did you install the 14.2 RC that came out Friday night? or did you remove the profile before that? reinstall beta profile, install the 14.2 RC and then once installed, you won't have the issue. As per the First post and other posts over the last couple pages.

The public release of iOS 14.2 just came out earlier today, so updating to that would likely be the best course of action.

If us beta testers updated to the public version, will it prevent us from updating future beta versions?

Also is the public version exactly the same as the beta 14.2?
