I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that maybe what we're seeing is (from right to left)

headphone
line in
mini-DVI
USB
USB
FW800
... Don't really know.

Being the left side, I would hope its the Magsafe, but has it been redesigned? I would hope they didn't move it to the right and put the DVI port on the left also. But then again, TWO video outs? Herm...

It doesn't look much thinner, thankfully. If you look at the spacing around the ports, particularly the FW800/ethernet port, and then at this:

It's nearly identical. So it's what I've been hoping all along if that's the case. About the same thickness, but with a MBA keyboard, and, hopefully, maglatch.

I can't see it getting thinner unless they compromised - no optical drive, crappy GPU, etc.

If it was DVI wouldn't it have screw-holes? (Again, see above.)

I think the thick one is DVI-I. I know AppleInsider said it wouldn't be there, but I really can't see them dropping 30in monitor support. IMO, going left to right: DVI-I, FW800, dual USB, tiny mystery, audio.

I think you got it right there. That mystery port is baffling me now though, no need for HDMI or display port if theres DVI-I in there.

Possibly a new power adaptor in light of the reports of the old one having "small issues"

SM/:confused:

Its probably Mini DVI. This dosent require screws as its small enough to sit in the housing like on the MB

It's too narrow to be eSATA, or I'd guess it's that. Too tall for mini-DVI.

What the heck is it? 4 pin FW400? That's an odd choice, 6 pin isn't much larger.

I think this is fake.

Does anyone really think that Apple would have that much metal between keys on the keyboard?

why so much empty space?

look at the left side of the speaker why did apple waste space?

Guys... not sure if this has been noticed, but this case has no bottom... you can see the foam it's sitting on through one of the USB ports. Quite bizarre! Not sure how that would work on a real laptop...

i'm reasonably convinced it's some sort of display interface.. the icon to the left looks like the |[]| but i can't see it being mini-dvi.. it's too narrow (only half the width of usb)

that said, this definitely looks legit.. one-piece aluminium, no seams, chiclet keyboard frame.. i think we finally have some shots of the fabled MBP revision. :D
my next question is whether they really are shifting to a 16:9 ratio as that seems a little daft to me..

So then the guesses here are probably true and Apple has indeed designed a dual-link miniDVI.

Well, there's wasted space between the grill and the keyboard right now.

As far as why there's "that much metal" between the keys, its definitely a chiclet keyboard.

I've tried for a couple hours to manipulate the image to see if we could get a clearer picture of what the far LEFT port is, but to no avail. But that REALLY looks like a mini-DVI in between USB and audio. You can even see the little |O| picture next to it.

Or they needed the room for the maglatch magnets?

Also, is anyone else seeing the metal strip ABOVE the keyboard? You can see where it comes up from the F-row of keys to it's original level with the speakers. But then, towards the corner, it looks like it extends out past that even.

Or am I just crazy?

Look towards the left side. The joint can be clearly seen.

It looks like they are utilising the aluminium keyboards… ;)

I don't think those are joints. It looks as if there is a plastic covering over the top, and what looks like a seem is simply the edge of the plastic.

I agree that the mystery port has a symbol that looks like video out, but that port is too small for it. Considering the packaging and other small things in the pic, if this is fake, it's well done.
