I don't think that will be reliable enough. I wish whoever pushed the Xcode data out included the mini's RAM with it. There's discussion about iOS 9's features requiring 2GB of ram. If it's gimped at 1GB, they either disable those features, or we'll see the mini struggle if it hits memory limits. About 2 days left to find out.

I hope you're right. Other sites like Wikipedia say 2 GB. Let's hope Wikipedia is right! :)

I've discovered there's just no consistency or references for anyone's posting of 1GB, 2GB, or my theoretical 512MB (because 512 is 510 bigger than 2). I have to make fun there. The best reference I've heard was someone calling up an apple supervisor who said that it has 2GB, but I still wouldn't trust.

"Photos or it didn't happen"

So the OS requires 2 GB of RAM and they just give us 2..?? They could be a little generous and give the buyers at least 1GB of RAM for themselves to use.

I think I'll just not take the word of a site that groups storage and RAM in on category... Also, no source.

No source for it however. Also, looking at the revision history the Air 2 page was used as a template "Some real content, stolen from iPad Air 2, whose innards are in the Mini 4." so that's where the RAM number comes from.

Wikipedia page for the A8 also states the Mini 4 and new Apple TV have 2GB RAM but the sources are the Apple TV pages and an AnandTech article where the amount of RAM is just an assumption "Because Apple's marketing materials show that the iPad Mini 4 can do split screen multitasking it's almost a given that this is a version of A8 with 2GB of RAM."

It's probably a pretty good assumption but it is an assumption none the less.

If the new iPad Mini 4 has 1GB ram then I've saved myself a lot of money as I won't buy it. If on the other hand it has 2GB ram then I will be buying it to replace my trusty iPad Mini 2.

Just return it if it doesn't have 2GB when you receive it. Since returns are free within a 14 day window you really have nothing to lose....

Sounds like tomorrow is first consumer delivery day -- hopefully we'll start seeing some hands-on reviews today.

okay guy's....one day left....lets get it confirmed that:
-The display is on par with the Air 2
-It has 2GB of RAM
-No "noticeable" performance hit with the A8 on IOS 9

Then let's all go out and get one!!!!

...has anyone in this thread indicated they are receiving their order tomorrow? If so, who?
ME (hopefully)!

How does one confirm RAM amount, anyway?

(Note: I was the one who got the Apple Senior Tech info below, so highly unlikely not to have 2GB due to the Split View mode needing it.)
I haven't read the whole thread, but I phoned Apple tech support, who confirmed it with senior tech management:

iPad Mini 4 has:
- 2GB RAM.
- Picture in Picture, Slide Over AND Split View.

At the bottom of this page http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/ point 1. says:
"
  1. Picture in Picture and Slide Over are available on iPad Pro, iPad Air or later, and iPad mini 2 or later. Split View is available on iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 4.
"

Hope this clarifies

Apple couldn't really say a smaller air 2 if it didn't have 2GB of ram. Surely it would need it to do spilt screen anyway.
