Hasn't a new Apple Store opened or something?

No kidding -- that would be more interesting news -- at this point I have no interesting seeing this movie. I enjoyed reading the book, but I will likely catch the movie when it comes to TV.

Cruise

I understand Sorkin's point—Fassbender doesn't sell tickets in Estonia. It's a global market. I would have hired Cruise in an instant; he can certainly wrap his mouth around Sorkin's dialog.

How many more signs are needed.....

Time to let this project go.

Maybe pick it up later, but the interest is not there for another Jobs movie right now.

You're interest is not there. Your opinion is not a fact.

Is anyone else unsettled by MR taking advantage of the hack and posting Sorkin's private emails?

I understand it's journalism and all, but it still makes me uncomfortable.

100 TB of data was flowing out of Sony via the internet and not one single person or system detected it?

Tom Cruise isn't a very strong actor. He always looks like he's acting. Although, when it comes to personality his resemblance to Steve Jobs is uncanny.

I can see the pre-production drama in the "making of" section of the DVD for this film.

I cannot see Tom as Steve. However, I was not able to see Tom as Lestat either and he pull that one off.

On that, one of favorite quote from James Woods.

Jack Crow: You ever seen a vampire?
Father Adam Guiteau: No I haven't.
Jack Crow: No? Well first of all, they're not romantic. It's not like they're a bunch of ****in' fags hoppin' around in rented formal wear and seducing everybody in sight with cheesy Euro-trash accents, all right? Forget whatever you've seen in the movies: they don't turn into bats, crosses don't work, and garlic? You wanna try garlic? You could stand there with garlic around your neck and one of these buggers will bend you ****ing over and take a walk up your estrada chocolata while he is suckin' the blood outta your neck.
I think between some parts of his acting in Magnolia and even Lions for Lambs (mentioned in the article/emails) he can fit fairly well.

Steve Jobs was not 5'2" in his shoes!

#EpicFail
When has Tom Cruise looked like that in his movies?

----------

LOL @ Tom Cruise.

Sorkin doesn't have a clue what he's doing. What next? Will he cast that midget from Game of Thrones to play the Wozniak role?
Yeah, it's not like Sorkin pulled off some of the most successful movies. Or that a lot of Tom Cruise's movies are huge. LOL indeed.

Tom Cruise!?
Sorkin is a moron.

Cruise cheapens every movie he's in and is a lousy actor

LOL @ you

You think Sorkin, one of the most esteemed and sought after and successful screenwriters living today, doesn't have a clue?

Cruise might be a joke to us because of the tabloids in the US, but he's insanely successful and a damn good actor.

And would sell tickets up the wazoo.

I will repeat again

These actors they are recommending, don't even look like Jobs. My recommendations.

- Steve Jobs
Patrick Dempsey with some makeup (iPhone early years) to early 2011, Noah Wyle (in exile years), Justin Long for 70s years. Try getting Bale for the emaciated August to September 2011 months.

- Lauren Jobs - Naomi Watts
- Jobs sister - Madonna or Susan Sarandon
- Woz (late 70s, early 80s) - Mark Wahlberg with the beard he will past
- Lisa Jobs - Keira Knightley
- Reed Jobs - Nick Jonas

- Bill Gates
James Spader (late 80s annoying years), Napoleon Dynamite (early 80s annoying look years white cashmere sweaters). Michael J. Fox for 2007 Vista years to present.
- Walter Mossberg - Richard Dreyfuss
- Kara Swisher - Jennifer Melfi
- Steve Ballmer - Kyle Gass
- Tim Cook - Ryan Stiles
- Jony Ive - Sean Bean (he needs to bulk up and shave head)

I wish Robin Williams had lived, he would have played a great Bono.

The tangled webs they weave. Boyle is right. Fassbender is an excellent actor. He will do a masterful portrayal of Jobs. The fact that he is not a major "movie star" is a plus in my world. Also he is the right age to play all three time periods. He was great in "A Dangerous Method" playing Carl Jung. ;)

Publishing sensitive information from a hacked system is inappropriate. I am surprised Sony's lawyers haven't sued websites leaking this info.

Welcome to the internet and to the information age. If the government can't stop reporting on the Snowden leaks, you really think Sony can cover this up with lawsuits? The websites didn't "leak" the info, they are reporting on the info, which is well within the legal bounds of journalistic practice today.

Could have been great for Tom Cruise

I was pulling for Tom Cruise to be cast in this role from the beginning. While he surely would have been an unpopular choice (initially), he would bring a unique Jobsian intensity to the role! Sorkin was right.

Disappointing to me that it didn't pan out with Cruise.

People didn't know Jesse Eisenberg (most still don't) when "The Social Network" came out - they just knew about Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook.

I think a similar effect applies here. People know JOBS, not Fassbender, but he is a great actor.

More people knew Mr. Demi Moore, and that movie flopped. The writing and marketing will make/break this movie.
