Sounds like you got a faulty unit mate, or something or other has caused the battery to deteriorate much faster than it normally would.

Mine is still at 100%, btw.
I’d have to agree. I haven’t used it differently from iPhones in the past; I’m not a heavy user. Come the fall I’ll be having a chat with apple.

I‘ve had an iPhone 11 Pro since November of 2019 and an iPhone 12 mini since launch day last year. My iPhone 11 Pro currently shows 90% battery health after 320 charge cycles, while my iPhone 12 mini shows 91% after only 135 charge cycles. Apple says the batteries are designed for up to 80% health after 500 cycles. I realize that says “up to” and not “at least” but at the rate it’s declining, my 12 mini won’t even be close to 80% after 500 cycles while my 12 Pro will easily be over that.

Is this typical of the iPhone 12 mini or do I have a defective battery?
Here’s an interesting one, my 11 Pro Max was at 91% for a few days and then the other day it went back up to 92%.

I maintain that the battery health number is not reliable at all.

Edit:

Take note the recalibration process finished last month, so I have no idea what happened.

Mine just dropped to 95. That’s 5% in one month. This is getting ridiculous. I’m contacting apple support today.

edit: was told to reset my phone as new. So really no help at all

Like I said in a previous post, I understand that it‘s not accurate to a T. But when it drops over 10%, if there were no issues with my battery, that’s no longer just inaccurate, it’s flat out wrong.

I posted this on another thread but my battery health on my 12 pro dropped from 100% to 96% in three weeks. Im not happy about this at all.
I only charge my phone at night. Normally when it hits around 40%.
Similar here with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I had a Battery Health of 100% a month ago & it dropped to 91% now.
My iPhone 11 Pro Max still had 99% after year.

My battery health is really Weird on my iPhone 12 Pro. After installing iOS 14.5 it went down to 97% from 98%. My previous iPhone 11 Pro which I owned for 1 year was still at 100% when I sold it. Also my iPhone X was at 98% when I sold it after 2 years.rec
I have iPhone 12 and have to say that battery life is little disappointing on it. My iPhone XR and 11 were at 100% battery health after year when I have traded them in, and I am at 95% as of now on iPhone 12.

I got my 12 pro max around 9 months ago, and its already down to 88% battery health. And Apple said that is normal when none of my other iPhones have ever gone down that much. I couldn't get them to replace it either. It actually dropped 2 % in the last few weeks. I saw it drop.

Are you using MagSafe or just wireless charging, if so, then that explains it.

I haven't been paying attention much lately, but does Apple still refuse to let you buy a replacement battery if your phone is above 80% capacity?

My launch 12 Pro Max is at 95% and the battery is noticeably shorter. I mean, if it keeps draining like this then I guess it'll just hit 80% sooner than usual then I'll swap it out, but it is annoying in a way to have less battery life.

Wait until it's 85% Health. The daily drain is actually infuriating at this point!

Why would that cause any issues? I've never had it cause an issue in the past to my other iPhones. Wireless charging is wireless charging. I have it on every night on the Samsung DUO charger. Has two wireless docks since I have two phones.

Well atleast you're THAT close to being able to buy a new replacement battery...And these things aren't even a year old, what the hell Apple?!
It can't come soon enough because it's a joke and sadly the phone feels useless. (Forget going out, taking a boatload of pics, videos, unless you have a battery pack)

I went out for about 90 minutes to run a few errands, left with 100%. Extremely minimal use..looked on Safari briefly, As I walk back to my car I see the % at 81. I mumbled something I won't repeat here 😡 Sorry, it's aggravating and beyond unacceptable at this point. Why Apple hasn't addressed this by now is beyond me.

My 12 Pro Max has dropped 5% in the past month all of a sudden. It’s not sitting at 95%. Bought the phone on December 2nd, 2020. Not quite sure if this is normal or if I have an abnormal battery. Apple support says the battery will only be replaced under warranty if it falls below 80%.
Update: 2 weeks later, it has further dropped to 94%.. I've never had any phone drop so fast in battery health, its kinda crazy.

Keeping a phone on the charger at 100% is actually quite bad for battery health.
It's a MYTH.

My launch day 12 Pro Max just dropped to 99%, having been at 100% the whole time since arrival. I hope it’s another eight months until it hits 98%, but your experience has me wondering.
Well, my battery health was at 100% until mid May. Then it dropped pretty fast to 95% in a matter of 2-3 weeks. Now it’s at 94%. And this phone is not even as old as yours. I got it at the start of December.

Hey, how are things going with your battery?

Now mine hit 87%. I asked Apple again on the support email I had, they continue to say the following below. Not impressed with Apple Support.

"A normal battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles when operating under normal conditions. The one-year warranty includes service coverage for a defective battery. I can not setup battery replacement repair till it reaches that 80% mark."

Same here... There's numerous threads of iPhone 12 series having severe decrease in battery health all over the internet. I hope Apple acknowledges the severe decline in battery health and starts a program or something.
