Joshua Hill @p0sixninja:
"the greenpois0n website has to load on the device in order for the jailbreak to be triggered :-\"
Guess what's completely overloaded at the moment? Riiight![]()
The only remaining reason really is that people want to pirate things.
On that point, can the 4S be SIM unlocked after jailbreaking?
So if you restore your device after jailbreak do you get your warranty back? I don't want to void my 4S' warranty yet
i like to jailbreak for one simple reason: The feeling that i completely own my device.
Yeah, it's a principle thing. I'm a bit of an idealist. I don't pirate any software, but i install a bunch of tweaks like sbsettings and retinapad. There's also some apps (mostly emulators) that i install, which are not on the app store because of apple's "we rejected this app because it does some random trivial thing we don't like" policy.
Without a jailbreak, i'm 95% satisfied with my ios devices. Jailbreak brings that to 99%. It's also fun to poke around the device in a unix shell and see how everything works. I'm a bit of an old-school geek so this stuff appeals to me.
There's my reason.
edit: That said, i am waiting until next week to jailbreak my ipad because i want to make sure there's no "completely bricks the device in rare cases" bugs.![]()
Not true. I want to JB almost exclusively for AutoSilent. The other utilities were nice but not needed. I haven't pirated one app.
"Get your warranty back"? Huh? Where do your warranty go?
Why do they use such childish names and logos?
Well jailbreaking voids your warranty right? So I'm wondering if restoring after jailbreak will "get your warranty back". Did you really not understand the first time?
does iMessage still work on your jailbroken phones?
