sorry...

first of all, im dont really know about .mac using the sun java system which is mentioned in the raw email data, can someone clarify that ?

second im positive that is not steve's personal email, however, it might be someone at apple, who reponds to this kind of things,

PROOF: go to mac.com click on log in, then click on forgot password, then enter your birth date (a quick detour to wikipedia tells you the correct answer is the 24 february ), will its not the correct answer in this case.

so its not his email. i hope that this email was a genuine response however.

( im very sorry that i used the word genuine, its so microsoft-ish )

update: ok i found the real one, and it goes with the birthday thing, but then is security
question, which is "what color is the sky ?", i wont be putting the email here, however
i think everyone has the right to some privacy, its very easy to find out, however.

ps: please if your smart enough to find it, dont post it.
the other one ( sjobs ) is useful and there is proof on the web that it is an apple email
and i encourage anyone who found the real one to write to sjobs instead.

I would think that if it was his e-mail it would be a bit more secure than someone cracking it by knowing his birthday...

^ to those above.... Yes Steve Jobs has SEVERAL PAs (Personal assistants not anything like Personal Computers) that read "Filter" or "Sift" through emails and answer those that they can.

After finding the email, and guessing for the answer to his question for half an hour, I found it, but I'm not doing anything with it. This has gone too far.

if they add the calendar edit option, that is great. But why do people want it SOO bad? I mean, think about it. Do you have your ipod with you all the time, or do you have your CELL PHONE with you all the time? I use my cell phone's calendar like a madman bc I wouldnt remember half the stuff I have to do for school. I am not going to use the ipod to remind me to do things bc I dont always have it on me. I doubt you guys have your ipod on you more than your cell phone. Basically, the calendar on the touch is useless unless it is ALWAYS on you. The iphone calendar on the other hand...

Ya but my iPod is ALWAYS on me its one of those things I just take with me wherever I am. Without it I am missing part of my self!

Notes and To-Do's

Hey Guys, aren't the syncing notes and to-do's rumoured to be part of OS 10.5? Perhaps this is why the questions about them have been ignored - in order to keep a few secrets about the features of 10.5. The OS was supposed to be released before the iPhone and iPod Touch were released. This is why this functionality is missing (or ignored in the case of Windows users).

I agree with you on that. Maybe I should carry my touch with me all the time now lol

That's my thinking exactly... If you remember in the (I think 06) WWDC keynote, going over features of Leopard, they showed how Notes and To-Dos are tied in with Mail.app. Hell, even the Notes portion *looks* just like Notes on iPhone (and I presume upcoming on Touch).

I would be shocked to find that Notes in Mail.app on Leopard does not sync with Notes on both handhelds. I would expect a To-Do feature to match and sync, as well.

And that's just the beginning. I expect even more really cool stuff that will will require Leopard.

Alas, I'll probably stick with 1.0.2 and Installer.app for some time, unless new features alongside Leopard just totally rock.

I'm not sure I'm buying this.... Anyone can do this. I don't see a point to wasting your time to make it look like steve jobs emailed back, maybe give people false hope about future updates? Idk... Whatever, if this is real, its awesome he responded with the 10902930293+ emails he must get.

Do you have a special braile version of the internet or something which is resulting in you misinterpreting my words?

Look at the raw email data. Look at the server the email was sent from. Now, just as everyone else has managed to understand by this point, this cannot be faked. The email came from Apple's internal servers. Thats something, not surprisngly, that little old me in my lab in the North of Scotland doesn't have access to.

Jesus. I didn't say Steve Jobs himself emailed back either. The reply to my email certainly came from his department inside Apple though. I wouldn't call that 'false hope'.

David

P.S. Why would you waste your time trying to convince people that an obviously genuine email is spurious? Thats the real question.

Stevie how 'bout the Mail.app NOW

OK, after you fix the first bug, now can we fix the absent Mail client bug. As much as I like my iPod touch, I hate having to enter username and password and squint to read my email via mobile Safari. A email client would be great and I even pay a nominal amount to buy it so you don't cannabalize iPhone sales (OH I forgot the iPhone isn't even available in Canada ... so I don't think you have to worry).

Put Apple Mail on it and we'll talk. Also VPN capability (damn Uni email system).
Step in the right direction though.

Thank you Steve

iPod touch and calendar functionality - of course this will come; did anyone doubt it. Just let Leopard out and wait for the update.

Of course to enjoy all this you have to get your hands on an iPod touch ... I'm still waiting ...

A "bug"? No... it's the same as the iPhone app.

I thought this is just an "iPod"?

If they add calendaring, notes, and a mail app then it will compete with the iPhone and the rumored Newton Touch...

People who are doubting the veracity of this are cynical dolts. I've e-mailed Steve before and gotten a reply -- not from Steve directly, but from an executive who even subsequently took the time to talk to me on the phone about the issue. I don't see why it's so impossible to think that (gasp!) Jobs e-mails people too.

No it made it to engadget thought.

What doesn't when it comes to macrumors? Although I believe this to be true... an apple rumor making it on edgadget is only slightly less diffulcult then finding lindsay lohan sober.

Engadget = hack writers publishing ANYTHING for page views.

Dear Steve,

I like to use Google Calendar, and I would love to see wireless two-way read/write syncing between my Google Calendar and my iPhone calendar. I would seek to add this myself as a third party application, or find a third-party application to do it, but it seems you have locked out 3rd party applications. Can we expect such a feature to be added soon?
