Oh I really, really hope so. Ugliest iPhone ever. Sell Apply stock!

If this is the phone, Jobs is going to reincarnate and work for Google.

Second this...

I'm sorry.

No way in a million years can I see Apple make anything look this nasty and horrid.

The bands look horrid

The shiny Apple logo looks amazingly super cheap and nasty,

cheap, nasty early mock-up

The final version will look way way better than this. It MUST do.

I'm not sure if this forum is full of actual mouth-breathers or just people pretending to be retards for fun.

You've all been in deep discussion over bits and pieces of a phone for months now, you'll believe and talk about anything. I thought this forum was supposed to somewhat know about Apple? Tim really did mean he'll double down I guess.

You're all gassing about rough manufacturing prototypes that got discarded and passed around months ago. Prototypes that likely look hardly anything like the actual coming phone but can at least can show how the actual phone handles the manufacture process to Apple. These prototypes have likely had design elements thrown in to try and make it look as far apart from the actual to-be-released phone as possible. Similar to when car manufactures test out cars and try to obscure their shape as much as possible.

Some of you honestly think that what you've seen over the past few months is a final, or even any stage of design of the real phone? Chinese knockoffs have more precision and sleekness than these prototypes.

Most people on this forum are likley 15 years old, or just incredibly stupid.

I wish I could up vote this post more than once...

Perhaps a thousand times or so.

Why isn't the cut out for the flash an oval (pill shaped) anymore? Are they doing away with the dual flash or are they putting in a better kind of flash?

Prototype

I agree. This is most likely a pre-pre-production prototype from months ago when they were still playing with the external design. From the scratches and dents it looks as if it was thrown in a bin to be destroyed and never made it there.

For the lens, I think it would be smart for apple to have a protruding lens ring. They have several patents that cover adding external lenses and accessories. I have a stick on metal ring for external lenses and it actually prevents scratches on the rest of my 5S by elevating the back slightly and taking the majority of the stress and scratches.

I suspect that the plastic bands are one of two things,

1. An early prototype that will not be used or has since been modified
2. Will externally house some kind of antenna molded inside of the rubber inlay.

If the design is in fact real, it appears that a grove has been cut into the case. This would in no way stop the metal from conducting from one part of the phone to the other like the current 4-5S design does by physically isolating the sections electrically.

What if instead, the grove held an antenna wire encased in plastic to isolate it. This antenna could be either for the cellular/wifi or for some other tech like wireless charging or NFC. (yeah I hate to bring up those rumors but it is possible)

So either this is an early non-functioning prototype that was scrapped, or actual wires or antennas will be added to the plastic bands to provide a clear path for wireless signals.

That oval black spot on the iPod Touch at the top right corner is where the wifi antenna is located.

It doesn't even have an antenna.

thats not what i was going for ... the person compared the HTC One to the iPhone 6 and someone else threw the iPod Touch in the mix which does not look like an HTC One nor an iPhone 6 because it obviously doesnt even have / need those lines for an antenna so how could they be looking alike. If Apple was the first to come up with those lines I bet my ass they would call it the most revolutionary antenna design in their keynote

Good catch. People believe these leaks because they want to believe, not because there's any compelling evidence to suggest the leaks are true. Just like when the kid had the rumored sapphire panel. He did the key/knife/bend test and a lot of people went apeshot about the magical sapphire panel. Even though there was no evidence the panel was sapphire. Heck there was even more anecdotal evidence that it wasn't but that didn't stop the believers... until the sandpaper. Heyyyyyy. Wasn't that rumored panel also from Sonny?

The iSheep blindly believe all the iRumours. Not many people think of the validity of a rumour while they are reading it.

Any chance the "bands" also protrude from the back of the phone slightly like the camera ring? This would eliminate the "wobble" people are worried about, and provide some greater protection for the camera lens and back of the phone.

Any avid iPhoneographers out there? I don't mind the protruding lens but it means Olloclip is going to have to come up with an entirely new design from scratch. I love my Olloclip! If this design is to implement a lens attachment system then they are going to put a whole lot of accessory makers out of business.

Assuming, for the moment, that this IS the final product, has Apple lost its design edge? Have they gone to far with the "thinness" obsession... even to the point of horrible battery life and now a protruding camera on their flagship phone?

Personally, I'll be buying the product regardless.. but part of me grows more and more disappointed with each leak. Those horrible lines were bad enough.. but a camera sticking out of the body? I'd MUCH rather have a thicker body, larger battery and recessed camera.

I'm still holding out hope these "leaks" are just of cheap Chinese clones, but the more that come out the more certain this design seems to be. Also, the way the plastic bands seem to be ripped/broken on this image leads me to a whole new concern... will the inevitable wear on the phone result in torn bands on my $800 phone?!

Holding out hope for Sept. 9th, but my enthusiasm is really dwindling.

Are you really getting this worked up over a rumor? LOL!

I find it interesting that we're just 4 weeks away from a supposed announcement and 5 weeks away from the supposed sales of this, and we still haven't seen much besides the back case and a few wires on the inside.

As someone else pointed out, by this time last year, we had already seen the fully assembled 5S in all three colors.

i dont see a chance for special "camera mounts" back there. If people want better camera they'll just buy a normal camera. People need phone camera for taking quick pictures and i doubt it somebody would carry a special lens in their pocket next to the phone... sounds so stupid.

Just because you wouldn't doesn't mean others agree. There are people - in the apple videos - who already have clip on lens for distance and close up. As they mentioned in the patent having a mechanical lock like an SLR as apposed to magnetic would be a lot better.

Almost every flagship phone has a protruding camera. Maybe it won't be so bad on the iPhone 6.

These are the exact same parts that leaked the other day by the way. As others have said the scratches and everything match, but I know for a fact that they are because I specifically asked Feld&Volk feldvolk.com to try removing the bands, and it seems they broke when they did this. Here is the picture they sent me. The part is definitely real, whether it's a prototype or unfinished or whatever else.

REAL, that is the key here. Yes it's real and Sonny Dickson also said this but all that means is that it comes from Apple. He also said and this is the crux it's a prototype. How many prototypes are there? Who knows! Which prototype is this in the grand scheme of all things iphone6 again who knows! Only time and September 9th will tell

Er no, they're going to make a lot of accessory makers more money. Those that have the old lens will have to upgrade and those that don't will have an option to buy a MFI product to enhance their phones!

I'm sorry, I'm not seeing this as the final product. I know it's a prototype, but it definitely has some work to do. I can see that being the camera lens but inserted "inside" the iPhone itself. it's not apple like to see something like this. I'll believe more come September 9th.

There have been rumours of a protruding camera module for months now. I hate it, but it doesn't surprise me because I was expecting it.
