Not at all. Samsung is 100% cheap gimmicks, right throughout their marketing and products.
Their TVs were bit better but now it's more marketing than tech. Even today their TVs don't have Dolby Vision when everyone else is supporting and more expensive than others.

I guess that can only happen in america, where common sense is not a thing. Because how is apple liable for a consumer's choice to go with a garbage charger? If your house burns down, sue the manufacturer of the charger, not the company, whose device you were trying to charge with that POS power brick.

Well said.

It's time Apple did the right thing and start including accessories with their phones. 1000 bucks is a lot of money, and the least they could do from the standpoint of good customer relations is provide all the goodies without charging extra money for it. You don't buy a car without wheels. You shouldn't have to buy an iPhone without quality headphones, fast charging, cleaning cloth, and maybe even a plastic clear case as well to protect it.

I bought each and every car without a filling station. Case closed.

Samsung Mobile is garbage. Even their global social media accounts have had disastrous leaks or controversial messages.

Their appliances are ok and their TVs are eh.

So their phones are bad because somebody at the company leaked something on social media?

While I understand your sentiment, that ship has sailed. My brand new Samsung 65 q90 didn't come with a wall mounting bracket.

Everybody will, unfortunately. Apple basically gave the okay to give less to consumers, so obviously everybody will follow suit. Cutting cost is always preferred. Most Android mid rangers and below have excluded headsets in their box for years.

If it were worth it in the eyes of these companies they would chose to be different to stand out from the crowd. Since Apple obviously struck a nerve with its actions of leaving out the unnecessary stuff and shipping just the product, it’s easier to sail on the path that Apple has made for these folks.

Because Qi doesn't entirely serve what Apple wants?
The right question should be if you can use a standard charger with your iPhone 12, why a complaint? Why trying to cut out an option? It doesn’t like Apple taking out your option to use your old Qi charger.

Well no, but they're playing the eco-friendly card here. Not including a charger in the box for eco-friendly reasons, then introducing a new cable type which only works properly with new chargers cannot be justified.

Apple's decision to remove chargers is stupid.

They tell people you have enough old chargers from old phones. Sure, we do. But they're all freakin USB-A connectors, for anyone that's been an iPhone/iPad user...

What do they include in the box? A lightning to USB-C cable...

Sure we might already have lightning cables to go with those chargers, but those break, get lost all the time. The chargers don't. I still have one from my iPhone 3G - yes the one without the green dot that I never replaced. I still use it at the cottage.

If profits are so god damn important, they should have stuck with a basic 5W power charger that's gotta cost pennies on the dollar after all this time. You want a faster one? buy one. But you still have a basic no frills charger you can use anywhere and use it out of the box.

Earbuds i dont really care much for, that can go the way of the dodo. But not including a basic charger for a device that needs DAILY charging, is stupid.

Yup I’m so upset that my car didn’t come with a free filling station. Guess I gotta use what, one of the few existing ones? And now on topic: same for Samsung.

Apple i

You're funny, Apples only good accomplishment is making the bionic chip, but you probaly won't be using it to it's utmost potential. A14 Bionic chip and better 3rd party apps are only thing going for apple.

Apple doesn't have 120 hz / They still have a notch / no AMOLED display AT 1440p / they don't have 12 RAM / no S-pen

ETC.

The accomplishment here is having a way more successful product then. But sure, you keep on downplaying Apple, have it your way.

I don’t understand your logic. You don’t have to buy it so what eco cost it’ll make? The magsafe productions would cost ecologically much less than including charger in the phone box, both on manufacturing and shipping, simply because people have to buy it and not getting it for free.

I wonder how long until the first lawsuit because someone bought a crappy no-brand charger from a mall kiosk and it caught fire, burning down their house.

At least by including a charger with every phone, Apple and Samsung ensure that most people are using a high quality charger. Now everyone who buys a new phone will have to buy a charger if they don't have one, and you know people will go for the cheapest garbage that does the job.

I would argue that the more environmentally and consumer-friendly solution would be to disallow the existence of low-quality chargers across the board in the first place. Once charger manufacturing is better regulated, it won't matter which charger you used, as it catching fire will just be a rare chance of bad luck.

Ironically for all the bashing about "courage" Apple continually demonstrates they're the ones willing to make these jumps and then everyone else piles in the pool in the (somewhat mistaken belief) that if Apple can do it, they can too.

That will be a quick law suit as the manufacturer of the defective charger is to be sued and not apple or Samsung.

Then if something goes wrong, Apple can be liable.
<hypothetical>Assume a food company produces bread. On the packaging they state: "delicious warm, use your existing toaster." Toaster catches fire, burns down house. Is the bread manufacturer liable? </hypothetical>

And while this has nothing to do with Samsung and removing the charger, because Apple or Samsung might say use an existing charger, it's not their product to be responsible for if the charger is substandard.

Samsung really is the most sad brand that ever existed, and even if they made the best smartphone in the world I still wouldn't buy it just on the back of how many stupid commercials, delusional tweets and products bursting into flames that they did over the years.

Oh, and I'll never forget the one time that the plastic neck supporting one of their TVs cracked all by itself crashing the TV to the floor in one of the apartments I lived in the past.
Long time Panasonic TVs fan here coincidentally!
