Fact of the matter is, most people aren't going to notice these screen defects like some of us here will. That's why screens with the book spine effect and discoloration slip out of the factories. Why should Apple raise the price of their products for everyone to please the few of us that are ultra-picky about screen quality? As long as they continue to swap with us until we're happy, it's really petty to complain about "quality control".
A row of dead pixels? Yeah, that's gonna be a problem for everyone. But a piece of dust under the glass? I'm one of the only people I know that will notice it and also be annoyed by it. I'm thankful that Apple continues to bend over backwards for people like me, and I wish more people on these forums realized that Apple is under no obligation to keep swapping with us until we get a device that we deem to be perfect. Enjoy it while you can, because they can choose to tighten up their exchange policy at any time.
I'm glad you're willing to bend over for sub par products but not me. When they try to market their screens as the best of the best with their "retina" technology and act as if one can do photo editing and video editing on it I have a major problem with that.
These screens are unevenly lit, non uniform, defective by either design or defects and just generally poor. I won't accept that.
