The lyric feature has been broken and at least they don't want to push AirPlay 2 just yet. I will try to look at the bright side.

With the implementation of Airplay 2 - Does anyone know if the multi-stream functionality has been effected for standard airplay devices with iTunes? For example streaming music (as well as simultaneously playing back) from a mac to an apple TV and an airport express?

My experience with Airplay has been excellent. I was using AirTunes with no problems before that. I have my medium sized home wired with Cat6 cable to 4 Apple TV's (2nd 3rd & 4th Gen) and 2 Airport Express' (2nd and 3rd Gen's) These 6 devices are routed from an AirPort Extreme along with strategically placed gigabit switches. I have absolutely no lag issues no buffering issues no drop out issues. I can control all of my airplay one streaming via my iPhones/iPads/iPod Touches belonging to me and my children. I have no need for Airplay 2. I am sure it must be some improvement that others need over the Airplay one. IMHO if they are able to make the airplay 2 work as well as the airplay 1 then it will be worth the wait for those who need it.

"Home Pod will be so great after software updates."

Sounds like the wait for great just got even longer.

AirPlay 1 is not exactly rock solid, not surprised they can't get it right the second time around.

airplay2(as long as there is support for airport express) and iMessages in the cloud were the 2 features i was excited about most for iOS11, still waiting....

Air play doesn’t even work with my Apple 4K TV. Apples products promise all these features and they don’t deliver. I’m still waiting for Continuity to actually work consistently for once.
I just have it turned off, never worked properly.

Continuity has so much promise. And when it works, it’s magic. But it’s defintiely inconsistent. I hope improving Continuity is part of the “cleaning up what’s already there” intention of iOS 12.

it's funny when my yamaha receiver is better at airplay than my apple tv 4
Hopefully Yamaha and other brand receivers that currently support airplay 1 will get updated to support airplay 2.
My entire house has airplay 1 receivers.

maybe it's not ready yet...got to think though if it was there it will return for the main build for 11.3

The only thing I want is the ability to hide other AppleTVs from my Airplay list on my computer and devices when I’m at home. I live in an apartment building and it’s stupid seeing all the AppleTVs on my floor in the list... and potentially accidentally streaming to them. It makes sense when you are not at home and want to stream at a friends place or an office conference room... but when I’m at home I don’t want to see all my neighbor’s AppleTVs.

Starting to think this isn't going to make it into the 11.3 GM. When was the last time a feature was pulled in a beta (by the third beta release) and made it into the GM?

Edit - I doubt we'll see Airplay 2 in the GM. The original press release detailing the 11.3 features (https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2018/01/apple-previews-ios-11-3/) does not include Airplay 2. Consider this engineering's way of saying - nope.

I purchased HomePod on day 1 thinking AirPlay 2 and stereo were just around the corner with iOS 11.3 (pretty niave, yes) I will be returning my HomePod today before the 14 day return window expires on Friday. This was the nail in the coffin for me. After also *not* being able to have two HomePods in the same house each with their own iCloud account, the HomePod just isn’t ready for sale yet. Shame, because I love the audio quality and design.

Slightly off topic, but so many iOS features get released and then forgotten. Continuity, universe cut and paste, keychain syncing, beacons etc. Almost everything that relies on iCloud is buggy and unreliable. I expect the same will be true of Messages in iCloud.

Maybe... just MAYBE... Apple should stop trying to announce things they have no idea how to even produce in the first place. It's getting beyond embarrassing. We will have iOS12 out before iMessages in iCloud and Airplay 2 even see the light of day at this speed.

Anyone got any idea when that Apple wireless charger will be out? Announced with the iPhone X I guess it might be out with the iPhone XI. If they can build it.
