Nice, so we see a comback of the iPad lately?

Yes when they are priced more reasonably
[doublepost=1511893032][/doublepost]
Since both of those items were on sale (the iPads getting some decent markdowns), it makes perfect sense that these were the top sellers.

Were the Airpods? What price were they selling for? I only saw $159 and thats full retail.

I think that the guy you responded to was just "bitter" that a LOT of people love it. ;)

Not at all. I don't say the Airpods are a bad device, I think they are very convenient, although overpriced. For that matter, I think all BT headphones and speakers ARE WAY OVERPRICED and they are. But it doesn't seem to stop people from buying tons of them at full retail.

That's why I saw sales for many of them at half price, and money was still being made. I even bought another BT speaker since they were half off!!;)

Who the heck wants to carry around that stupid dongle everywhere they go? And secondly use EarPods?
Although you seem to harp on Apple's benevolence, I for one am more skeptical. You need more than one dongle. Cars, receivers, boat, connecting wired to BT or non BT speakers, at another $9 each. Yep they are masters at making money. They use slight of hand so not too many people pick up on it. I stand by my former statement. They also would have had a larger backlash had there been no way to use wired headphones at all.

You didn't answer my question...

Explain where the FORCE you to buy BT earphones.

There are other products just like it though for cheaper prices. I think wireless is the future but Airpods are clearly overpriced. Not sayin it’s not a quality product though.

Please tell me how apples wireless headphones are so much of game changer than another pair of wireless headphones that you would call it your coolest Apple product ever?

Airpods on sale where?
The ease of pairing and switching between all of your devices. Plus they are truly wireless, I have had other "wireless" headphones where the wire would constantly get caught/stuck on my shirt or neck while working out. $159 really is not all that expensive given the alternatives.

They basically forced some people into a corner of inconvenience for the reasons stated above, since they removed the most viable option for a device that plays music and sound and replaced it with a Frankenstein method of using an audio cable. Let's not get into needing to charge it at the same time.

I said force your hand, in other words, not leaving you very much option and/or convenience for doing something any other way but theirs.

The AirPods are my most liked Apple product next to the iPhone. It feels like i am not wearing them when using it. This is truly what I call wireless earbuds.

I don't think this is talked about enough, how well the AirPods actually stay secure in my ear. The weight of the wire with the EarPods was one of the problems and the AirPods helps eliminate that. I literally don't have any idea that I'm wearing them, that's how comfortable they are.

Im glad your need are met. I do miss the headphone jack as I prefer to hear more punch and range in my music and use it on more devices, and not to just listen on middle of the road sounding Airpods, without having to carry around a dongle.
Yes I'm satisfied as I don't need studio quality sound all the time. I have a nice set of headphones at home that I keep the Lightning to headphone adapter on, and I use them very rarely. For my daily listening, it's all AirPods or bluetooth speakers.

Maybe I'm less demanding of excellent sound quality, but the AirPods sound fine to me. I can tell they aren't awesome, but their convenience far outweighs any quality limitations they have.

They look ridiculous. Easy to lose. Fall off from ears. Overpriced. Nobody will buy them.

(The Internet, 2016)

It's usually taxing to choose a side over trivial hysterias, but I'm with you on this one, Djdonquixote. Keep up your holy fight with the Internet 2016.

Stupid considering people are saving $50 or $15 one something overpriced is considered a "Top Deal".

Also I call this dubious because the number one selling thing on Amazon is "Instant Pot", so I suggest this is all ********.
Because the instant pot is too cool (and super useful).

lol ok , AirPods have built in amps that rival some stand alone boutique external amps, all without having to drive a long high end robbing capacitive cable. The difference IS remarkable , at least to the head fi types.?

Can I have what you are smoking?

How do they handle physical activity? They ever fall out? I know wired buds fall out too but I can easily locate the ear bud and no risk losing it.

I regularly go running with them and have never had them fall out or feel like they are going to fall out. The only time I had them come out unexpectedly was when I forget they were in and I took my sweatshirt off which knocked it out. As long as they fit your ears you wont have any issues with them coming out during any normal physical activity.

The headphone port is not coming back. No reason to keep living in the past. Just move on already.

Not only is it not coming back, it's buried deep inside a time capsule only to be dug out by excavators 3000 years from now. I'm with you on this, get over it, it's not coming back!

Why people? Ok the iPads I can understand getting on CM. The Airpods weren't even on sale anywhere I saw. You could have gotten them 6 months ago for the same price. The damn Airpods and Beats acquisition ARE THE REAL REASON YOU HAVE NO HEADPHONE JACK IN AN IPHONE. They figured a way for the sheep to have to buy more of their products and still think they were brilliant as they laugh in your face and head to the bank.

Stop trolling. You should list AirPods on the list of Apple products you have on your signature underneath your post.

Glad you are satisfied with them. Yeah i hate using bluetooth if I don't have to. Especially in the car or on a BT speaker.

LOL thats funny, genuinely!! You are a good apple citizen in that you have no problem with them limiting your choice and giving you less value for money. You are their target audience! Until BT sounds better than wired be best not to bury it in a time capsule. I agree it's not coming back. Never said it was, merely stated aside from convenience BT is inferior to wired and a device is lesser for not having a jack as bluetooth has been there for a while. But thats good if you enjoy less value and options in what you buy. I OTOH will voice my displeasure at choices i deem poor. It's called an opinion.

headphones

AZs a person who uses only an iPad Pro as main computer ...if you do not count a G5, it deserves it, with iOS 11 it rocks, and there are very little things you cannot do with it.

Unless you do some very heavy lifting work :p

Count me in to update my iPad Air 2 as soon as the Pro might see some more redesign. This years Pro already took a nice step with the thinner bezels, but I expect some more to come next year when looking at the iPhone X. Well, besides the notch for sure....

AirPods are frigin amazing. I was a doubter but until you don’t try it, you’ll never know!

We agree to disagree. That's why we discuss opinions here, whether we agree or not. It was a lighthearted jab but if you were offended, I apologize.

I love the "they look ridiculous" posts. They look EXACTLY like the earphones that hundreds of millions of us already have, minus the wire. So if they had a wire coming out of the bottom, they would be perfectly fine?

Hilarious. People are so salty. Like them or not, the AirPods are the first wireless earphones that don't suck. And yes, Bluetooth earphones with a wire between each earphone is a different (but very similar) product category. The AirPods are a huge home run, and deservedly so. If they fit your ears, they are incredible.

When the first iPad was released, a lot of people felt self conscious using it in public. Now it’s commonplace. Same thing will happen with the AirPods.

Who the heck wants to deal with a wire running from their ears to their waist?

Look, I replaced A LOT of headphones by a A LOT of manufacturers because the wire for the headphones failed. I averaged about 4 pairs of earbuds a year for 8 years, ranging from
$40-$300 each time.

Now I’ve had the Airpods for a year, and they work just as well as the day I bought them (actually, very slightly better since headohones open up over time).

I did buy a second adapter at $9 to keep in my luggage, although now I have 3 and have only paid for 1 since a new one comes with each new phone.

Yes, the most profitable company in the world is very good at getting people’s money, but the headphone jack is hardly one of their most notable methods, and for me personally, has straight up saved me money.

In my opinion the $249 2017 iPad was the deal of the year. Got me one.

Agreed. Incredible price for a full size iPad. I bought a like-new used one a few months ago for $265, thinking the guy was an idiot for selling it so cheap. At least it came with a case.

I think projecting the success of a product in your own needs is definitely naive. Voicing your opinion bout a product based on your needs is not. I never expected the things to be a failure. They do the trick for a lot of people. The success of Beats has proven that you can sell a premium headset without the premium sound. That’s not so much of a criticism as an observation; people are willing to pay hundreds for a pair of cans where other manufacturers previously thought that price tag demanded vastly superior sound.

For me, they’re all the things mentioned. They do fall out easily. I don’t like the look of them (though I can get
Over that immediately if the product is great), and I guess they are more easily lost than a wired thing but that’s not so much a concern for me.

FWIW I was the same way with Apple Watch. Apple finally made something I felt was worth the money. But it took people buying the first two generations to make it worth it for Apple to continue evolving the product into something I’d actually want.

AirPods look same as EarPods -minus the wire. But I guess minus the wire it does freak some people out and all the sudden it becomes weird looking. Ohh people!!!
Yes, they fall from a certain ears ...but while EarPods were dead easy to fall from my ears being pulled by the wire, after almost a year using AirPods and running with them quite frequently I have yet to see them dropping from my ears. And another’s thing. Using still Apple Watch original and loving it just as much as I did the first day it was launched.
I love technology, I have positive mind and I don’t dream of it failing.
