Oh I wasn’t. I thought your stop trolling comment was funny.We agree to disagree. That's why we discuss opinions here, whether we agree or not. It was a lighthearted jab but if you were offended, I apologize.
Wow lots of flack from the above posters. Good! I don't mind. Say what you want, its one less option that they only got rid of to sucker people into spending more money thru Apple. Please tell me you can grasp that!! How can you say it's progress when it's not superior to its predecessor. So wrong on that account!
I will concede convenience for bluetooth, although it is certainly not better. Bluetooth does not sound nearly as good as wired and if you don't know or notice, then you are the perfect flock apple loves.
How are any of you making the comparison of wired headphones to Standard def TV. Come on you guys are you that naive? Its actually the other way around. Wired would be HD and bluetooth 480i.
Airpods sound about the same as the stuff they give you in the box. You paid apple $159 to get rid of the wire with maybe slighty better sound quality?
I know BT is convenient, I only use them for the gym because wires do get in the way during a workout. When I actually want to LISTEN to and enjoy music, never BT.
Headphone jack better for wired audio to BT speakers and vehicle audio. BT lacks depth and punch by quite a bit.
I have yet to hear anything a BT connection sound better than wired.

Didn't say it would come back. All I did was make a post wondering why the Airpods would be such a high selling item on Cyber Monday when I never saw them on sale. And people who owned Airpods got pretty defensive. LOL hilarious!!
Saying it's in the past basically only pertains to Apple iPhone and Pixel 2. So its very current on almost every other device. They only difference is most other companies don't force your hand to buy BT buds or headphones like greedy Apple.
It's somewhat snobbish to assume that only having BT is better, because it clearly is not. You could still use BT headphones when they had a jack, so its NOT what i would call progress
[doublepost=1511889090][/doublepost]
Point 2- disagree, they had tons of Beats devices in the wild and they would REALLY PISS alot of people off. Apple also knew tons of people would buy Airpods
Point 3 - who the hell wants to carry that thing around. Its a handicap.
Point 4 - I'm not attacking or insulting. Because I said some people are sheep? If it doesn't apply to you and you know deep down, then the statement would not bother you. But if you did feel that way deep down then you may be agitated. But my statement about apple doing what they did to slaughter more wallets because they no longer supported wired headphones is not incorrect. They are MASTERS at it. That is why they are the worlds biggest company, and maybe you will pickup on some of their less than desirable tactics with some critical thinking.
NOW.... if apple didn't get rid of the headphone jack the same time they came out with Airpods, I would not call it the underhanded, shady move it was. BOO APPLE, I see thru you, others i feel don't, and think apple does no wrong. DEFINTION - SHEEP.
count me in as living the past- picked up an 8+ from target around $400 after trade in rebate and 5% discount - a no brainier in my case - after picking up the X I would be losing too much screen real estate for my remote support workThe Touch ID folks are in that same denial stage haha.
I used to like Apple a lot more than now and I own a bunch of their products. I just think they could give customers a lot more than they do for what they charge people. they have been lazy and getting sloppier the last 5 years or so and their design, which apple used to be applauded for is getting worse and worse. I think they could do better. I’m not the only one who realizes how much Apple has been disappointing more and more people. But everyone on here seems to measure apple's success by their bank account. Yes they make good products but they also are quite greedy.If you hate Apple why are you reading these forums? It’s an honest question, please provide an honest answer.
Well considering there was limited stock for almost a year... yeah I think a lot of people bought themThey look ridiculous. Easy to lose. Fall off from ears. Overpriced. Nobody will buy them.

Love those 2 cigarette butts that stick out of me furry ears!
There are other products just like it though for cheaper prices. I think wireless is the future but Airpods are clearly overpriced. Not sayin it’s not a quality product though.
Please tell me how apples wireless headphones are so much of game changer than another pair of wireless headphones that you would call it your coolest Apple product ever?
Airpods on sale where?
So they didn’t force everyone to buy BT headphones at all.They basically forced some people into a corner of inconvenience for the reasons stated above, since they removed the most viable option for a device that plays music and sound and replaced it with a Frankenstein method of using an audio cable. Let's not get into needing to charge it at the same time.
I said force your hand, in other words, not leaving you very much option and/or convenience for doing something any other way but theirs.
Well considering there was limited stock for almost a year... yeah I think a lot of people bought them
First of all I never said they "Forced everyone to buy BT headphones" as I explained in the last reply to you. What I said and what you say I said are different things since you misquote. I understand if you may have misinterpreted. If you don't think that the move was designed to shove people in that direction especially with the Airpods coming out and the jack disappearing, then I don't know what else to say. It was calculated and planned well in advance.So they didn’t force everyone to buy BT headphones at all.
Cool, thanks for clearing that up.
As for “not leaving you very much option”, Apple gives you 3 options,
Lightning headphones (supplied with iPhone or 3rd party),
3.5mm headphones with free adapter.
BT headphones.
So one more option then you had on iPhones with 3.5mm port.
So buy another phone with a headphone jack. Its not coming back.....get over it.I think quite a bit of that was short production, as I think they also missed or delayed the launch date, as seems to be more commonplace with the apple of today. See my above post regarding their sloppiness.
[doublepost=1511905786][/doublepost]
All 3 options are comprises and crummy
I'm with you on this. Funny that some upvoters sometimes behave this way. But probably they liked part 1,2 and 3 too4. Personally insulting and calling people names because they made different choices on how to spend THEIR MONEY is lame.
Fair enough. Everyone chooses what’s best for them. I’m more speaking of the people that have convinced themselves it’s coming back next year. It likely isn’t. For better or for worse we have Face ID now.count me in as living the past- picked up an 8+ from target around $400 after trade in rebate and 5% discount - a no brainier in my case - after picking up the X I would be losing too much screen real estate for my remote support work
I wasn’t trying to be. I like Touch ID. I like the headphone jack too. I think removing that was the single most user hostile thing Apple has done in recent memory. Nobody is better off without it, we would have had the same Bluetooth options had it remained.You’re not funny :/
Why people? Ok the iPads I can understand getting on CM. The Airpods weren't even on sale anywhere I saw. You could have gotten them 6 months ago for the same price. The damn Airpods and Beats acquisition ARE THE REAL REASON YOU HAVE NO HEADPHONE JACK IN AN IPHONE. They figured a way for the sheep to have to buy more of their products and still think they were brilliant as they laugh in your face and head to the bank.
Wireless doesn’t freak me out. I just don’t think they look good. Other buds look better to me. It’s that simple.AirPods look same as EarPods -minus the wire. But I guess minus the wire it does freak some people out and all the sudden it becomes weird looking. Ohh people!!!
Yes, they fall from a certain ears ...but while EarPods were dead easy to fall from my ears being pulled by the wire, after almost a year using AirPods and running with them quite frequently I have yet to see them dropping from my ears. And another’s thing. Using still Apple Watch original and loving it just as much as I did the first day it was launched.
I love technology, I have positive mind and I don’t dream of it failing.
I understood your point. I wasn’t trying to argue. I was just trying to give you a reason why people are “all of the sudden” buying these. It’s a decent gift without severely breaking the bank. If you know someone that loves Apple and you don’t have $1000 to get them an X, maybe you have the money for a set of Airpods. While $250 is a great deal on an iPad, the Airpods are still about $100 less. Cyber Monday is huge, people are online buying things and checking people off their lists. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these items are coming up in targeted ads either.My point was, and I may be mistaken... But I did not see Airpods on sale on CM. That was the gist of my post. Ipads, yeah, decent discount.
Can everyone just stop with the "overpriced" nonsense comments???......Its beyond an old argument. If you think Apple's higher pricing is overpriced then why the hell are you even on this site.....an Apple site discussing Apple products that people own? Either the complainers don't own the products or they're trolls.
[doublepost=1511906301][/doublepost]
So buy another phone with a headphone jack. Its not coming back.....get over it.
It steered you in the direction to purchase new BT headphones. Kind of re-iterating my point. Although in YOUR case you went with a different brand, think of all the other people who do the same as you and buy Beats or Airpod. That's essentially the point of my previous posts.How does the removal of the headphone jack, causing me to sell my beats pro's and buy Sennheiser HD 4.4's help Apple at the bank whatsoever?
Im glad your need are met. I do miss the headphone jack as I prefer to hear more punch and range in my music and use it on more devices, and not to just listen on middle of the road sounding Airpods, without having to carry around a dongle.
I think the folks that are most annoyed probably have multiple sets of earphones/buds.Can't you just leave the little 4" dongle on the end of the 36" of headphone cables? Then there's nothing to "carry"
Also... if the 4" dongle is too much to deal with... how on Earth do you manage a giant set of headphones?
How exactly would you "carry" these?

BTW... I'm just ribbing you. All in good fun.
I just think it's funny that the tiny dongle bothers people so much... but the act of carrying a big set of cans is A-OK
Got a better deal 2 weeks ago...In my opinion the $249 2017 iPad was the deal of the year. Got me one.
Not surprising at all. Look at the pricing. For under $250 you can get Christmas out of the way. When people are asking for phones and TVs on the regular these days, that kind of money is a bargain.
I don’t think I’ll ever have a pair of air pods so long as they’re an all plastic bud. No, they don’t stay in my ears on a run, and that’s the only time I’ll ever use them.
[doublepost=1511885453][/doublepost]
See above.
Airpods are probably the coolest product apple has come out with in a looooong time. Can't imagine not having them ad I see them more and more daily. They convenience factor is off the charts.
Not at all. I don't say the Airpods are a bad device, I think they are very convenient, although overpriced. For that matter, I think all BT headphones and speakers ARE WAY OVERPRICED and they are. But it doesn't seem to stop people from buying tons of them at full retail.
That's why I saw sales for many of them at half price, and money was still being made. I even bought another BT speaker since they were half off!!![]()
HaHa, i know your point, but what about when you are plugging your phone into a few audio devices a day. aux audio, speakers, car, then may use head phones. You would have to carry the dongle everywhere you go, it's a pain.Can't you just leave the little 4" dongle on the end of the 36" of headphone cables? Then there's nothing to "carry"
Also... if the 4" dongle is too much to deal with... how on Earth do you manage a giant set of headphones?
