Scored a pair at one of my local Apple Stores. They got less than 20 in stock they said. So glad to cancel my order that would come next month. If you didn't get them today I'd keep checking as they said they would have a steady stream of stock.

There's already something similar. They're called Bluetooth headphones

which are not the same as earphones. If people wanted to buy a headphone, they wouldn't be lining up to buy AirPods, which are, I reiterate, earphones and not headphones. People don't want to relax or walk around with a huge thing on their head. People want something compact (small and easy to carry) and discrete, and AirPods fit the criteria.

Compared to other wireless earphones, AirPods is extremely good and affordable.

Of course I would have never brought this up, but since you decided to put this in your signature:
That last part invalidates everything and any thing you have ever said.
Because I think she belongs in jail for mishandling classified data I can't have an opinion on AirPods? How close minded are you? Just stay on topic.

This is literally never going to happen. There's a video of a guy running for an hour with AirPods, and they did not move at all.

I was specifically talking about myself, knowing my ears, knowing how the Airpods look - I have used similarly-shaped earphones before, they tend to fall out. That's why I don't use them. If you want to believe Apple have created a magical shape that fits all ears that's fine though :D

Yes of course, everyone's ears are shaped exactly the same...

Exactly. I wasn't claiming they will fall out of everyone's ears, only that that they look like they would fall out of mine.

oh just like trump appointee Michael Flynn?
I am on topic that you brought up in your Sig. Maybe remove it from you Sig then no one will call you on it

But they are.

I see what you're saying, but like others have said, they're (relatively) reasonably priced for what you get. $10 more than the Bose wireless? Yes. I'd like to see them in the $100 - $140 range, but Apple's ecosystem has always had a premium, and $10 or so in this case is not bad.

p.s. fantastic signature

Or people can put whatever they want in their sig (since after all, it is THEIR sig...) and you can resist the urge to comment on it. YOU brought it up.

I bought a pair of these last night for my EarPods. They may help keep them in place.

People told you that? Even then, Steve Jobs teaches us that people don’t really know what they want.

Lines for headphones....lol. It's really crazy that Apple has people willing to wait for anything they make.

The signature stays. If you want to talk politics go to PRSI or send me a PM. This thread is to talk about AirPods. If you can't control yourself then maybe you need to speak to a professional.

Surprise, it's getting favorable initial impressions. So what happened to all the haters? The ones that presumed this would be a total flop because 1) it looks goofy when you wear it, 2) it's way overpriced, or 3) insert-random-complaint-here

It's funny that some people can't fathom why others would want AirPods.

Personally, I'm very excited because it's something I've always wanted in a pair of earphones.

You should still try them before you judge them. One of the main reason earpods fall is because they get pulled by a cord. It has been demonstrated many times. I have always struggle to keep them on my ears while running or doing stuff. From my early testing these Airpods seem to be fine.

Picked up mine at Apple Upper West Side in NYC. Got there a few minutes before 9am ET when they open and there were probably 30 people in line ahead of me. They allowed purchase of two AirPods per transaction. I got the last one, so guessing they probably had about 150 or so in stock, as many people bought two and returned to the back of the line to buy two more.

First impressions from the last 30 minutes of using them - blown away! Incredibly light and perfectly designed. The case is small enough to fit in the change pocket of your jeans.

To my non-audiophile ears, they sound significantly better and louder than EarPods and the fit is perfect - you totally forget you have them on and they don't budge an inch even with vigorous head shaking. Will have to go running and see how they hold up. The range is fantastic too - can walk around my entire apartment without losing connection, which is a lot better than my PowerBeats wireless.

Discovering neat touches as I use them - like a pleasant ding as soon as you put them in your ears to let you know they are active and ready. The magnets in the case to secure the AirPods, as well as another magnet to keep the lid closed, makes the out-of-the-box experience magical. As soon as you open the lid (while the AirPods are in the case), it shows the battery status for the AirPods and the case on the phone screen (both came with about 85% charge in the box). There's a small battery indicator LED inside the case and it shows charge level at a quick glance - had the case charging and it went from orange to green, but as soon as I put the AirPods back in, it turned back to orange, and after about 15 minutes or so of keeping them plugged in, it's back to green. Guessing it shows charge level for both when in the case, and just the case when AirPods are out, but will have to confirm that.

Will post more impressions as I use them - questions welcome.
