Strange how many people fixate on questions like this and "What happens when I lose them?" It's as if they have never owned a small, battery powered tech product in their lives.

Nah. I'll get Sennheiser Momentum Wireless Around-Ears. Sure they're twice as expensive and very different type, but at least I'll feel I'm getting bang for buck.
Have we really gone from "it just works" to "better than expected"?
It is a key to happiness, I guess:
If your life isn't meeting your expectations, lower your expectations.

Not true. What a joke of a comment.
How exactly does one call a store before it opens? Please let me know smart guy.
I think these have gotten a lot of hate. Personally, I think they're pretty expensive. I would definitely consider them once the price has dropped.
My AirPods arrived this morning Fedex at my office in Newark, NJ funny thing is in the morning on my way to work.
I stop by Apple Menlo Park mall and picked up a set of Apple AirPods, So now I have 2 sets lol
Honestly, i was expecting a 99.00 price tag, 159 is quite a bit. Im still on the fence with these for now.
Yes, congratulations to all the suckers who fell victom to Apples POS marketing and couldn't deal with a small 2 ft wire. Your wallets are now $150 lighter and your energy bill just went up a slight bit to charge yet ONE MORE THING!
As much as I would like to try them in the store - I would never put a store demo model in my ears, just too disgusting for me. I ordered mine online and I know I can return them if I don't like them.
Will these be available to demo at Apple stores? Would like to try these before buying, especially at the price point. But it seems like a logistical nightmare for Apple store folks to supervise the demos.
Yes you can switch Siri off and double tap to pause and playCan someone advise. Is their a way to pause with tapping without using Siri? Also is their s way to answer calls with just using the AirPods? Quote me please.
What is the competition -- who else also produces an actually wireless pair of earphones? That is no wire connecting the two as well as wireless connection to the phone? What are they priced at."AirPods sound just like EarPods" - Nilay Patel
$159 for overpriced tech.
Get Tim Cook Outta there! Please. Seriously.
Will you send me the extra pair? HahaMy AirPods arrived this morning Fedex at my office in Newark, NJ funny thing is in the morning on my way to work.

Hater.LOL! Yeah, i expect it. I just can't get behind apple anymore on anything they do. Removing the headphone jack was stupid just so they could sell overpriced wireless earbuds which im sure quality sound-wise is equivalent to the wired versions.
Also, if apple wanted to be really innovative and cared about sound quality they would have used wifi-direct instead of bluetooth. Bluetooth is awful for music.
Call me a hater all you want. A stupid wire is no reason for me to blow $150 on a piece of tech that I can live without.
Honestly, can anyone on this forum tell me you CAN'T LIVE without wireless headphones. Your lying to yourself if you think its true.
Or get a watch - you can do all of that on your wrist"You'll notice that yes, I did mention Siri: Your AirPods are hooked directly into your iPhone's personal voice-based assistant, and can be triggered with a double tap of either one of your AirPods, Her-style. Siri is the primary way you interface with the AirPods — there aren't any minuscule play/pause, volume, or track controls on these earbuds. Instead, you ask Siri to pause your music, raise the volume, or switch to the next track."

Try to do more research next time, my friend.
