Nah. I'll get Sennheiser Momentum Wireless Around-Ears. Sure they're twice as expensive and very different type, but at least I'll feel I'm getting bang for buck.

Okay for the you will lose them crowd... you can buy a set of sport earphones and airpods if you are going to buy phones that are twice the price it is a stupid argument. One for sport and one for inside.

The people that argue they won't fit yet will get lost are absurd. I lose those little inserts.

Have we really gone from "it just works" to "better than expected"?

It is a key to happiness, I guess:

If your life isn't meeting your expectations, lower your expectations.

Me thinks someone's life isn't meeting expectations, ranting on MacRumors and all.

Classic case of projection here, folks.

Psychological projection is a theory in psychology in which humans defend themselves against their own unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves while attributing them to others. For example, a person who is habitually rude may constantly accuse other people of being rude.

Not true. What a joke of a comment.

"You'll notice that yes, I did mention Siri: Your AirPods are hooked directly into your iPhone's personal voice-based assistant, and can be triggered with a double tap of either one of your AirPods, Her-style. Siri is the primary way you interface with the AirPods — there aren't any minuscule play/pause, volume, or track controls on these earbuds. Instead, you ask Siri to pause your music, raise the volume, or switch to the next track."

Why would the price drop before the gen 2's come out, when Gen 2 will stay at this price. There's not a completely wireless Bluetooth phones that has this technology at this price point.

I think these have gotten a lot of hate. Personally, I think they're pretty expensive. I would definitely consider them once the price has dropped.

Third-party solutions to making sure the Air Pods don't fall out and get lost in 3-2-1...

I suspect most will just be something like a string between the two Air Pods, like the chains for eyeglasses.

Soo help a fellow Applephile out and sell them to me :)

My AirPods arrived this morning Fedex at my office in Newark, NJ funny thing is in the morning on my way to work.
I stop by Apple Menlo Park mall and picked up a set of Apple AirPods, So now I have 2 sets lol

Can someone advise. Is their a way to pause with tapping without using Siri? Also is their s way to answer calls with just using the AirPods? Quote me please.

Yes, congratulations to all the suckers who fell victom to Apples POS marketing and couldn't deal with a small 2 ft wire. Your wallets are now $150 lighter and your energy bill just went up a slight bit to charge yet ONE MORE THING!

The average cost to charge an iPhone 6 Plus, from CNET:
On average, during an overnight charge, the iPhone consumed an average of 19.2 Wh. A miniscule amount, but over a year that translates into 7 kWh, which will set you back $0.84.

Let's generously assume that AirPod batteries combined are 10% the size of an iPhone's battery.

Congratulations. You're complaining about spending about *8 more cents* of electricity per year (or well under $0.01 extra per month) to completely charge a set of AirPods from empty every day.

I was lucky enough to be the first to try out a demo pair this AM after my Apple Store sold out of their entire stock in 15 minutes. I got there 16 minutes after they opened lol.

Anyway they completely sterilize them, case too in between demos. They bring them from
The back just for that reason.

As much as I would like to try them in the store - I would never put a store demo model in my ears, just too disgusting for me. I ordered mine online and I know I can return them if I don't like them.

A good product. Probably Jony Ive wasn't messing with the hardware design this time.

Will these be available to demo at Apple stores? Would like to try these before buying, especially at the price point. But it seems like a logistical nightmare for Apple store folks to supervise the demos.

Also seems like a health hazard, I wouldn't dare put one of those in my ear after it was in hundreds of others' ears.

If these stay in just fine during a run, this is what I'll be requesting for my birthday. I actually live the wired ones. They happen to fit my ears just about perfect.

Yes you can switch Siri off and double tap to pause and play

And to answer calls you just tap

"AirPods sound just like EarPods" - Nilay Patel

$159 for overpriced tech.

Get Tim Cook Outta there! Please. Seriously.
What is the competition -- who else also produces an actually wireless pair of earphones? That is no wire connecting the two as well as wireless connection to the phone? What are they priced at.

LOL! Yeah, i expect it. I just can't get behind apple anymore on anything they do. Removing the headphone jack was stupid just so they could sell overpriced wireless earbuds which im sure quality sound-wise is equivalent to the wired versions.
Also, if apple wanted to be really innovative and cared about sound quality they would have used wifi-direct instead of bluetooth. Bluetooth is awful for music.

Call me a hater all you want. A stupid wire is no reason for me to blow $150 on a piece of tech that I can live without.
Honestly, can anyone on this forum tell me you CAN'T LIVE without wireless headphones. Your lying to yourself if you think its true.
Hater.

Got them. Not bad, But I discovered something annoying, I paired them to my iPhone. Then I laid the case next to my Macbook Pro as they charged, and when the case accidentally touched the side of the Macbook, they de-paired from my iPhone and paired them to my Macbook - almost NFC-like.

Got mine earlier today. surprising how small the case is so compact! love it. And the headphones stay firmly in the ear, people have no idea how great it feels.

The sound quality is definitely better, more importantly its louder!

I changed the setting so double tap is for play/pause rather than siri, as i got 'hey siri' for that. I only wish there was a way to skip songs or control volume without the phone which are my only two cons here.

Or get a watch - you can do all of that on your wrist :) Got my AirPods delivered a couple of hours ago, nicely synced across all my devices, fit fine and feel tons better than the EarPods I have just binned - because no wire tugging on them. They won't be falling out in a hurry either. Sound quality is fine for me, am sure those with bat-ears wilfind fault.
All in all really plesed with them!
