Thanks, I think some of the review I have read have some wrong/misleading info.

But, how do I increase or decrease the volume during a phone call? Using Siri?

Either way, I think I will pass for now. I like having the volume button right on the headphones, and with Siri being as buggy as it is, would find it frustrating having to use it to control the volume.

I need to replace my EarPods, but maybe they are covered on the iPhone warranty.

Another method to lower the volume and the one in which I'll be using is via my Apple Watch.

I was going to get these, as my wired ones are not working right.

But not being able to control volume is a huge part of me passing on it.

I hope future versions have volume control.
Reading the instructions available online would be a good start for you.

Apple social hysteria marketing fervor? I mean, they are basically earrings. I guess everyone wants them...cool?

FYI, Apple didn't just invent bluetooth headphones, but line up I guess. Just Apple kool-aid at work here.

Prediction: it's resellers cashing in on the "a few days before Christmas supply vs demand" profit.

Craigslist: "IN-HAND NEW, SEALED AIR PODS RARE IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND - $350!!"
You need help if you still can't understand the hype for apple products. I kind of agree with what you wrote, but the bitterness in your post sounds more like jealousy than anything else. As for Craigslist... supply and demand - free market.

Nothing makes sense with Apple products and demand - other than the constant posts on MR bashing and hating and doing anything to mock people who buy their products - or the products itself.

I agree, that's what I meant with Apple coming up a design/feature set that allowed them to sell them at such a premium price. Seemingly small things like easy pairing have a lot of utility and users apparently are willing to pay for that.

It's really not a "premium" price... look at the alternatives that do the same thing without wires.. $150-300.. and they're few and far between. You can't compare them to $40 bluetooth headsets, or even $100 beats, that'd be like comparing a macbook pro to a $299 acer

One to sell to the public as the other 20 went to the store employees!

Waited at our Apple Store before work. I was the 3rd person in line. A guy comes out and lets us know that they received ONE for sale. ONE!! But they had plenty on demo for us to try....

Look at all those pathetic losers lined up in the cold on a workday to buy some headphones......All they had to do was order online and choose to have them shipped to their house. I just don't get this North American stupidity of lining up to buy something just because one can't wait a few extra days. It scares me how many people undervalue their time.

Walk up to a stranger wearing these.
'Hey Siri, Increase to maximum volume."
You don't need to say "Hey Siri" You just double tape them.

I don't think laziness has anything to do with it.

If it is in a purse or bag, this might not be that simple.

Bedsides, taking your phone out of your pocket while driving is illegal in some places.
So is wearing headphones while driving... you can wear 1 of them but then you shouldn't be listening to music.

Are you still unable to skip a song without pulling your phone out of your pocket?

Still will be interested to hear the impact on battery life

Says the guy who puts a prince tribute website in his signature. Seriously? Massive to-do about mediocre music? Seriously?
You didn't just mock someone because of their music taste - did you? Regardless of what you think about Prince, mocking someones music taste is classless. Besides, that is your comeback for them having an opinion for a line for Apple products? Comment about the line or the product... not their musical taste. sad...

AirPods have officially launched in the United States and Canada, as Apple Stores begin to open with limited stock available on a first come, first served basis.

As seen in Europe earlier today, customers lined up at a number of Apple retail locations from coast to coast for a chance to purchase AirPods in time for the holidays. The all-new wire-free earphones launched online last week, but supplies depleted quickly and orders now face a 6-week shipping estimate.

MacRumors reader sktgater claimed Apple's iconic Grand Central store had plenty of AirPods stock this morning, while other users reported successful purchases in Chicago; Washington D.C.; Brooklyn; Menlo Park, NJ; Pittsburgh, PA; Tysons Corner, VA; Charlotte, NC; Greenville, SC; Metairie, LA; and elsewhere.

Meanwhile, customers are lined up at Apple Palo Alto and other west coast stores as limited stock appears to be readied for those queued.

In-store stock is unsurprisingly depleting quickly due to a combination of limited stock--under 100 units in most stores--and strong demand. MacRumors reader Chris told us the Apple Store in Knoxville, Tennessee only received one pair of AirPods today, while many other locations have already sold out for the day.

"About a dozen people in line at Sherway Gardens," said one Reddit user, referring to a shopping mall in Toronto. "Staff said they got 40 or so pair." Another user said he was third in line at the Apple Store in Square One, a shopping mall in nearby Mississauga. "Only a small crowd of 10. Employee claims 50-60 units in stock."

Apple's in-store Personal Pickup tool has yet to be added to the AirPods product page, so customers would be wise to call their local store ahead of time to confirm availability before making the trip. Apple appears to have set a typical limit of 2 AirPods purchases per customer in stores.

Lucky customers who ordered online within the first hour or so last week are beginning to receive their AirPods today too. The most common delivery estimates are Tuesday, December 20 and Wednesday, December 21, but some customers in the United States in particular have received their orders today.

Apple Stores will continue to receive "regular shipments" of AirPods. Apple authorized resellers and major carriers will begin receiving limited AirPods stock this week as well, so customers still on the lookout may wish to call or check with their local Best Buy, for example, in the United States and Canada.

Totally unbelievable, new guy at the store I went to on Saturday, said he was there for a month, told me they opened at 10 am on Monday. I show up at 9:50 am - NO we opened at 8am. Really the people working there don't know what hours they operate. I took an extra trip to ask specifically to get this information. Oh - well.

Double tap Airpod and say "Next Song".

Feature has that's been around before Siri... but before you held down the Play/Pause Button.

Can someone explain why are people so excited about these headphones?

I'm being serious not sarcastic. We've had wireless headphones for years and now people line up as if it was the first iPad.

Honestly, I love Apple as much as anyone on this board, but I'm a bit mystified by all the hype surrounding this product. What am I missing? o_O
I seriously don't understand it either, specially waiting in line for them! I'm usually on board with anything Apple puts out but these seem so half-baked it's not even funny. I miss the old Apple, when they would only launch products that were ready for mass production. Now it just seems like they're announcing things to keep the spotlight on them and scrambling to actually make it happen.

#1. Workday? So what are you doing during this "workday"? Oh, yeah... posting on Macrumors. Hard work, EH?
#2. Orders quickly slipped past today. yes, ordering is generally the easiest way -- but not everyone WANTS to do it that way. Why should people have to purchase things the same way YOU would?
#3. Uh, did you miss the article a few stories down with a picture of people lined up IN THE U.K.? I find it funny you specifically called out "North Americans" but missed that they were doing the same in the U.K. too...

I'm starting to think there's some "Stupidity" happening here... blind to irony, blind to typical Apple online ordering shortages, blind to the U.K. article posted just a bit ago with the same thing going on.

Get back to work.... while you still have a job.

Why can't they be compared to bluetooth earbuds that cost 1/3 as much that have equal or better sound quality?
