just can't believe the time apple released it...
it 6AM in west coast, nobody wakes up 6 in the morning on a random Tuesday just to check this...
it's so unfair for us who lives in the west coast.

So you're saying Apple makes products its customers want and that's why it's the most valuable company in the world! Great point!

If Apple made hats they would all be size 7-1/4, because that is the perfect size. It would not have a bill in front because Apple thought you didn't need it. If it didn't fit, you would buy it anyway because Apple knows what you want.

Oh wow, could you post your full review since you clearly have a pair? It's funny that you're review goes against what every single actual review has said.

They don't fall out because of how someone's ear canal is shaped. They fall out because it's a typical Apple product, that emphasizes design over function. This slippery white plastic is a joke, but why use silicone like all the other in-ear headphones. Takes courage to sell such a ridiculous product for 179€.

I can't even fathom why anyone would want these. Normal earbuds fall out of my ears with the slightest movement and these appear just as bad.
I think that they fall out because the wire moves and that makes the EarPods move in your ear. Hopefully no wire stops the movement.

It's alright haters without a life. I know you haters contemplated weather or not to order these this morning and now it ships in 4 weeks so you're just miserable. I'm getting mine before Christmas, Ha ha ha ha ha!!! :D:D:p

This sucks for me. When did they start going for sale on their website? So, I went ahead and ordered mine just now and my delivery date is Jan. 12. Ugh! If I find some in the Apple Store, I'm going to buy them in the store and cancel my online order.

Stuff like this fall out for all kinds of reasons- not just one. For example, think about how often inadvertent contact occurs to that region of your face each day. In normal activities, I bet it's pretty often if one would keep track.

Want a simple example? Reach up above your head right now like you are trying to get something from an overhead shelf or change a bulb. Did the upper part of your arm/shoulder bump into the zone where these will hang? Mine does. Will reaching up knock them out of your ears every time you reach? Probably not. But will reaching up never knock them out of your ears? Probably not.

Want another? It's probably fair to say that we keep our iPhones in an enclosed pocket most of the time... certainly not hanging out of a hole in our head. When we take them out of the pocket, they are wrapped in the grip of our hands, locked in between fingers & thumb. So we never see any iPhones with cracked screens, right?

I don't think "we" need to work so hard to help Apple sell buds by spinning this "never fall out" scenario. Whether they will or will not fall out from time to time probably doesn't influence anyone to buy or not buy this product. Those that want this are going to buy it. Those that don't, won't. Those on the fence are probably going to wait for "real world" reviews before deciding either by choice or because they just can't get them now. And then, even the fence sitters are probably not going to make their buying decision solely on whether they never fall out or not.

This is one of my criticisms. Apple should have issued a press release apologizing for the delay and announcing a pre-order date, so that everyone who was interested had an equal chance to buy them.

But, one of the reasons they may not have done that is that they have not achieved sufficient volume to supply even moderate demand, and that would have caused far more frustration for the average customer and resulted in much more public coverage.

I also don't think there was huge demand for this given every tech blog covered it and tech readers eagerly awaiting them, still took over an hour to sell out. Nevertheless making them available to a worldwide market would have created plenty of demand to sell them out within minutes. Apple wanted this under the radar.

The current Earpods fit my ears very well, as do most generic earbuds. I run a lot, and they stay in perfectly.

On the other hand, I've never found anything "in-ear" that works for me at all. They are painful and don't stay in.

It's simply a matter of ear geometry. I have a perfect "ear pocket" for earbuds, but tiny or badly-angled ear canals. YMWV.

the normal earbuds for me will not stay in either, the slightest movement makes them fall out so i never ever used them. when the whole airbud thing was announced and people were saying that they wouldn't fall out despite being the same exact shape i took an old pair of normal headphone jack apple earbuds i don't use (and never will being on the iPhone 7 now with lightening) and cut the wires off to see if it made a difference...

it was like A MIRACLE. my homemade "cordless" earbuds stayed in my ear with me twisting and jumping around while tipping my head side to side like a damn fool and before i couldn't even walk across a room and not have them fall out. the problem was always the cord so i am pretty confident for me the new airbuds will work...

Come on dude - you haven't even tried em!

You know what I can't fathom? I cannot fathom why you'd bother posting that you don't want them. What the heck? Why waste your time if you really don't want them. What a world!

To be fair, a lot of that is the cord. Also to be fair, I have no idea why anyone would want these even if they don't fall out super easily.
I want the W1 chip because I regularly sit around with my Apple Watch, iphone, and iPad Pro, and I'd like to be able to switch between devices seamlessly. I don't like having cords and cables everywhere, so Powerbeats 3 and beats x are out for me. Beats Solo 3 I would consider, but $300 for a hunk of plastic is absurd (and I already have a pair of Harman kardons in that form factor)

I wouldn't mind if the Airpods were a different shape, but even in the shape they are now they are still the closest thing to what I want.

I'm surprised that Apple allowed people to buy multiple sets, given the supply constraint.
Seeing people posting that they've ordered 5 or 10 sets just for eBay resale is annoying.
Wonder why Apple didn't restrict to at most 2 pairs per order?

#1 reason why Earpods pop out of my ears: my hands accidentally tugged on the wire.

Reasons why I'm getting rid of my current bluetooth earbuds
- have to carry a micro usb cable
- microphone sucks, people can't hear me on calls,
- Siri takes like 5 seconds to activate and doesn't recognize my voice well
- switching from iphone to ipad use is weird. sometimes i have to manually disconnect one device and connect the other via bluetooth settings

so yes. i want one.

Yeah, search EarPods tips on Amazon and a bunch come up. They have those sports ones similar to what Jaybird and Bose use. My brother in law has a set, they work pretty well.
I see them now, they look promising. I've never liked the feel of the hard plastic, not sure why it never occurred to me to look up something like this.

Thanks!
