I can't afford new Airpods, so I'll have to wait for these to hit the refurb store.

I'm fine waiting. If there are problems I want all you early adopters to take the hit for me. Same with the Apple Watch. Thank you all for being the guinea pigs.

You're twisting the point. I said nothing about not noticing they've fallen out. My posts were poking at claims that these will never fall out.

To that point, apparently you agree with me that at least some should expect them to fall out sometimes. Fortunately- per you- we'll notice the sudden loss of sound in that ear and can get to work finding wherever that one fell. Thanks!

You're misunderstanding my response. Also, at no point did I agree with you. I'm not surprised that you misunderstood. I'm a bit disappointed, though.

I'm saying that one of the main reasons women lose earrings is because they don't notice they've fallen off their ears when it happens.

So no, I don't expect this to be a big problem and even if it did happen there's no reason to expect that it would be a problem for people to recognize when it has happened and pick it up.

See if you can read this comment without getting confused this time. Thanks.

I'm skeptical about these things but I have yet to read a less than flattering review. Rolling Stone just published their review

Wired review wasn't particularly flattering ..

Rene Ritchie was giving his usual Apple PR routine on Macbreak Weekly earlier, he says they they sound just like EarPods but that they are the best earphones he has ever used (!). One fell out while he was talking about them

:D

I think it's you who's confused. So let's be clear: I said nothing about people not noticing these have fallen out. You are the one who seems to be trying to twist the reference to earrings into being about that.

My point was in response to many claiming they will NEVER fall out. To that you seem to agree that they will, but it will be noticed because of the loss of sound.

If my point was about noticing if they fall out, I agree with you. But that's not my point.

LOL, wow you're so confused. You didn't say anything about it. I'm the one the raised the point and I never accused of having said it. You pointed out that women lose their earrings and this is something that would happen with the AirPods. I then pointed out that this is less of an issue because women losing earrings is partly a problem because they don't know when they've lost them.

Also, your further clarification makes even less sense. How would earrings (which are thin metallic rods inserted through the lobe of an ear) indicative of whether EarPods would fall out? It isn't even the same kind of placement or object. LOL, the **** are you even talking about?

Wow. In agreeing with someone's reference to women's earrings falling out, I was supporting the concept that things in ears can fall out. In another post, I referenced glasses & sunglasses for the same reason- that those fall off people's heads too. Things loosely attached to our heads can fall off. BOTH examples were part of disputing many comments throughout both of today's threads about how these Airpods will NEVER fall off.

I never said anything about people permanently losing these Airpods, nor being unable to notice if one falls out.

Glad you were lucky enough to get review unit of the airpods. I hope to form my own conclusions when the airpods are available for the rest of us. I hope my $38.99 LGTONE wireless headphones blow the airpods away so I can return them and save money.

My 29.99 Amazon wireless headphones take 1 to 2 seconds to pair.

They blow the AirPods away.

I'm confused... Regular USB to charge instead of the USB-C? I thought everything was going USB-C?

I just realized they come with a USB charging cable, that you can't use out of the box with a new MacBook out of the box. o_O

I can't even fathom why anyone would want these. Normal earbuds fall out of my ears with the slightest movement and these appear just as bad.
Yes, therefore, all people everywhere must have this same exact feeling.

I swear, this same exact type of thinking is what caused Trump to get elected, an absolute inability to understand that your personal experiences might not necessarily be the experiences of other people.

You aren't going to be charging the AirPod charging case off your MacBook. You will be plugging in to your wall socket at the end of the day (or week).

I was planning to buy the Airpods to use them with my Iphone plus 6, ipad pro and the Apple watch series 2 but now that Bluetooth 5 is coming and it is going to be faster/longer range I don't know if I should wait for the next generation of Airpods with Bluetooth 5. What do you think?

BT5 is enhancement for Bluetooth Low Energy, has nothing to do with audio, so no need to wait.

Your 30$ wireless headphones are not as wireless as these. You're paying for the tech to have fully wireless.
True wireless is like sex without condoms, different pros and cons.

I was just saying you can't really compare the two based on price.

not true. no company want an end user buying a whole bunch of its product and resell it. it would rather sell it to 90k users than 1 user with 100k units.
people are waiting for this for a long time. if apple sell it to 1 user 100k units, and this user just holds on the units for a higher price, then people will be angry, to apple, because as far as they can see, apple is not providing enough supply. then people may switch to other brands. so not good.

also you just said apple wants revenue, then why is selling out a good thing? selling out --> no more to sell --> no more revenue.

Delicate balancing act. If you never sell out you aren't doing it right and if you are always sold out it is also a problem.

This is a very tired and lame comment. Perhaps you can fathom that not everyone has the same ears as you? The only time headphones (earbuds or not) fall out of my ears is when the damn cable catches on clothing or causes downward pull. I've placed my order already.

But they always fall out of his ears....

Nobody is taking a hit for you. Yes, with any mass produced item, issues arise. It's simple
Economics. That said, even if there were an issue, Apple will stand behind their product and replace/refund.
