That’s like saying you can get 2 Hondas instead of 1 BMW. Pointless statement!!!
Id take the two Hondas any day. I've yet to see anyone have a good experience with one after the 2-3 year mark unless they drop a thousand to two in repairs. I've seen Hondas from the mid 90s break over a million miles with nothing more than regular maintenance.

woke up at 8 AM ans NYC did not have pink available at all.. they must only be holding a handful of these and i dont know if its a predictor of demand yet but stock

Not much to maintain on that mid 90s Honda.

So back to that 'can buy two XM4 for same price' idea... you can get 10 sets of overear headphones for the price of 1 XM4..

SO WHAT?

If the cost is too much for you - guess what? You don't buy it. The End.

One shouldn’t buy something just because they have the money. A fool and his money....

And driving a mid 90s Honda in 2020 is a sure sign you’re winning?

I own 2 BMWs and one is a 2010. Zero problems. There, now you know someone with a good experience.

There are million mile BMWs too, FYI.

Financial decisions are individual. These headphones are not the $250 Sonys. Some people would say the Sonys are too expensive.

I really can’t believe these are $550 and don’t even come with a case. Bose/Sony win this one.
Does anyone even use the case their headphones came in? My case (Bose QC 35) is in my closet untouched since I bought them.

I just toss my headphones in my laptop backpack and don't worry about them. They've been fine. The case just adds extra bulk and makes it take longer to get to the headphones to use them.

Astonishing that there has been no stock in the UK so far at all.

Yeah, it's odd. Has anyone in the UK even had a delivery order arrive yet? Is it possible that the UK hasn't received any stock at all yet for some reason?

So reports that UK stores, in London, at least do have them. But the online pick-up service is knackered so you have to walk in.

Can you actually just walk in, though? My understanding is that you can't walk in without an appointment due to Apple's Covid rules etc. At least, that was the case at the Covent Garden store very recently.

Person A: "You know that you can get better sound for far less money?'

Apple Fan: "I don't care. I want Apple."

Person A: "Fancy design and clever marketing won't make them sound better."

Apple Fan: "Apple. They know how to make the best."

Person A: "You don't even get a proper case."

Apple Fan: "The Apple. I want the Apple headphones."

Person A: "You have such high standards Why don't you buy a product from a company that specialises in headphones?"

Apple Fan: "I'm not interested unless it's Apple. Look at the industrial design. They have to sound good."

Person A: "Why don't you shop around. Try some others?"

Apple Fan: "Famous athletes and celebrities will wear these because they know what good audio sounds like ."

Except the Sony's are far from the Honda level in that comparison. We're talking about very similar headphones on paper at vastly different price-points.

Once the reviews start rolling in more we'll see, however sound is subjective.

And with Apple being ultra sensitive on the lock-downs, you can't try it before you buy it so I anticipate they'll be getting plenty of returns on this product. I hear returns on Apple Watch S6 was astronomically higher than S5 due to blindly ordering online.

No doubt they will sell, there's the "anything Apple is cool" set that will wear them more for the status than being an audiophile.

(Side note, I'd rather have a Honda than a BMW anyways, owned 2 BMW's and they're absolute garbage long term, but I digress).
