They're sure great for my reflexes - yesterday I caught one before it could land in the toilet :)

The thing is that I can't even tell whether the tips are all too big or too small. I used to have Etymotic in-ear buds and with those I could definitely tell when they were in the ear-canal vs. just pushing up against the opening. No idea with the Pros. Maybe my ears have just become insensitive.

I even do the awkward looking trick of pulling up on my ear with my left hand while I insert with the right. That right f*$ker just won't stay in place for more than a few minutes. The incredible thing is that even without a tight fit, they still manage to cancel noise well.

what about the fit tester via the iphone?

sounds like the old apple in-ear headphones all over again... grr.

we? i was perfectly happy with the original airpods. couldn't care less about these so-called "pro"s. also what was so "dark horse" about them exactly?..

"We" means more than one, which doesn't have to include everyone. Maybe it would be less jarring to say "those of us who …" You know, sensitivities and such.

I like the sound of AirPods but they don't stay in my ears unless I don't move, so they're not something I can use. The rubber ear-piece and noise cancellation tech are a welcome addition for many.

just looked at the shipping times on Apple... Jeez. Apple is quoting after Christmas in the US for shipping . but most store do have stock..(at least near me) Crazy

Fit tester only tests the seal, doesn’t say anything about holding power/fit. AirPods didn’t fit me, fell out when I turned my head, but the fil of the pros is unmatched... for me. YMMV as they say.

The phrase “dark horse” means an unheralded, unexpected success. AirPods were even derided when they came out, and now, with little release fanfare and very little marketing effort, they’re a runaway success. That’s what’s “dark horse” about them exactly.

thanks so much, but i'm familiar with the meaning.

airpods were a huge success from day one. their shipping dates were about 2 months(don't quote me on the exact time, but it was something absurd). until a store rep explained to me how to go about getting a pair there was little hope of getting them(without the wait).

and what apple product doesn't get a pool of memes thrown at it?..

Yet the highly reputable Consumer Reports said they’re mediocre and that Samsung (yet again) destroys Apple on quality and price. I know which I’m going to gift to people.

Nice way to misrepresent (outright lie?) the consumer reports review :

If audio is important to you, Consumer Reports has always found you could do better than the Apple AirPods. They’ve been convenient and well-designed, but first- and second-generation AirPods didn’t score high enough in our sound-quality testing to earn our recommendation. But with the brand new AirPods Pro, things are different. The AirPods Pro sound really good. Like a majority of Bluetooth headphones, the Pros still might not suit the most critical audiophiles. But the significant improvement in sound paired with the features consumers love from the older AirPods should make this model a serious contender if you’re in the market for a pair of true wireless earphones.

At $250, the Apple AirPods Pro are well within the price range of other wireless portable noise-canceling headphones, particularly true wireless models. the Samsung Galaxy Buds, which also sell for around $130. (They aren’t noise-canceling.)

I wonder what do you get off on lying online, you misinform people why? Grow up.

i see...

it's funny i had to go to the airport this one time and my airpods were low, so i grabbed the wired ones with the same shape. and i realized how much more they fell out! for two reasons - the weight and the wires!

Also it’s worth noting the Galaxy Buds case only gives you a little more than one full charge. Automatic deal breaker. I can charge my airpods more than 3 times before needing to charge the case.

you're right. it's just generalizing in a forum doesn't sound right) for me(don't want to generalize).

exactly right, for those who are unhappy with the fit the pros are a godsend! for the rest of us...

christ. no, they do not - they are ugly af. ok?
They look exactly like the regular AirPods. What makes them look better however is the shorter stem. The bulgier sides look better too.

When the original AirPods had no bulge, it looked ridiculous when worn as you mostly saw a long stem going down your ear which looked hella awkward. It looked embarrassing to wear, especially when people had the stems angled straight them, which looked like a toothbrush hanging down the ear.

At least the AirPods Pro are designed to have an angled stem now.

the airpods looked almost exactly like the regular apple headphone minus the wire.

the pros look stumpy and stick out. with a black stripe on them. i think they look awful. of course this is purely subjective.

I saw a lot of people wearing them already and they are so small tu don’t notice nothing of what you are saying.

Hoping the battery in my right-side v1.0 AirPod finally packs up before Christmas, thus leaving me no choice but to upgrade to the Pros just in time for Santa to chuck 'em down the chimney 🎅

I really hope that one day this bubble isn't burst when it's discovered that having radios half an inch from our brain for several hours at a time isn't good for human health...

I much prefer these over my powerbeats pro.....the Apple store rep let me swap them (even after 30 days). I’m really impressed with the fit, sound, portability and charging.

AirPods are thicker and longer than the EarPods. And they look even more awkward without the cables due to its super long and thick stem.

It’s not really subjective, they really are dorky looking, especially when they hang outwards or straight down.

Not sure why you think AirPods Pro “stick out” when the AirPods’ stem sticks out even more. Also it’s just a black stripe… it doesn’t look awkward at all, a long stem that swoops down from the ears looks awkward. AirPods also stick out to the side, which is ridiculously awkward.
