I'm concerned about fit. The amazing thing about the first airpods for me was the fact that usually earbuds don't stay in my ears but the pods did no matter how I turned my head.

According to the article it will test the fit for you and tell you if you need to change the tips.

Noise cancelling...meh...another point of the pods for me was being able to hear music while also being aware of your environment. Might be nice for traveling though.

According to the article there is a "transparent mode" that makes sure you are aware of your environment.

Waterproof...completely unnecessary. I have sweat gigantic amounts and my airpods have never failed. Not sure how wet they're getting but no one's going to be swimming with untethered earbuds anyway.

According to these very forums, numerous people have screwed up their AirPods by sweating.

It all boils down to whether they actually sound significantly better and the fit still is as expected. Either way, I see no reason to buy them with airpods that already work great.

Says everyone who feels bad that they spent money on the old thing and can't really justify buying the new thing.

Five minutes is like an eternity by the time you tried to order these, some members already had their orders in within 30 seconds. These will push well past November for order times by the end of the day.

Yes, but usually the break is 5 days or a week between waves. I've never seen one day tiers.

Wireless charging mat?

I like this design better. The shorter stem with the slight angle are much more attractive. This is actually good for certain earrings that I wear.

BUT for $249, these need to be as good as my QC35ii in the noise canceling department. I know the sound won’t be the same which is fine, but if the big seller is NC, I need to see what these new AirPod Pros are really about.

Not bad though, I’ll be giving them a close look.

These hit on everything except battery life. 4+ hours is plenty long at first, but the degradation worries me. My original AirPods are hardly usable anymore, lasting only about 30 minutes. Hopefully this is a different battery tech (looks like a button cell rather than cylindrical) that can survive more cycles, but this issue alone has me hesitating to buy.

Doesn't matter the body of the pod-the tip needs to be longer to seat properly in the canal or the seal can break during exercise.
I don’t follow. The current body ends right at the end of the war canal, how would the addition of a silicone tip not bridge that gap?

You expected less? By now everyone knows Tim Cook's love of price stacking.
  1. AirPods: $149
  2. AirPods w/ Wireless Charging: $199
  3. AirPods Pro: $249
Giving consumers better value is still a foreign concept to Apple executives.
iPhone XR is $599. That's pretty good by Apple standards. Also the regular airpods still exist so...

Regarding all the Pro comments, since anything can be "pro" if a professional uses it, now it just means it has more features than the below tiers. People need to stop getting hung up on the word.

Why? 50$ more than the current one with qi charging case
For that 50$ you get better fit with customized ear tips for small medium and large ears, better sound, ipx water and dust resistant and active noise canceling
I think with this airpods pro the 200$ last gen price is too high
Nobody should go with the last gen 200$ airpods
Yes, $50 more than the current ones with the qi charging case. And those are still priced too high. They should have just completely replaced the other models with this one in their price slot.
I'd like to see these down at a more competitive $150 price point.

Why do you need to wear headphones for 12 hours?

It is so easy to pop AirPods back in their case which charges them, that the battery life is almost completely meaningless. Unless you've owned them and experienced this, you can't appreciate it.

Because I work in a loud open office and need to focus all day by listening to music/radio shows.

If I take them off to charge, then I’m not able to listen to my content.

My PowerBeats 3 last over 12 hours on a charge. The PowerBeats Pro battery life is a bit less, but still acceptable to me.

Different needs. It’s ok.
