Because I work in a loud open office and need to focus all day by listening to music/radio shows.

If I take them off to charge, then I’m not able to listen to my content.

My PowerBeats 3 last over 12 hours on a charge. The PowerBeats Pro battery life is a bit less, but still acceptable to me.

Different needs. It’s ok.
Maybe you shouldn't insist that bizarre needs get accommodated by a mass market consumer product.

Can someone please explain what is "PRO" about these?
For Apple "Pro" has always meant that the device has a much more advanced feature set than the non-Pro. The differences between the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro are pretty obvious and the differences in feature set between the AirPods and the AirPods Pro are just as obvious.

But, we all know how it is. We have to first go through page and pages and pages of "It's ugly!" and "It's not Pro!" and "Why would I pay so much for this ugly non-Pro thing from Apple!?!?!" posts so go off. Let's get it all out.

I got the power beats pro and their battery life is far better than these for the same price. These seem like Powerbeats with less battery.

I like my AirPods as well, they just don't stay in my ears well. Maybe when the price drops I will give these a shot.

In Apple marketing the PRO means its the best product for its lineup
Airpods pro are the best from airpods lineup
Macbook pro is the best from macbook lineup
Imac pro the best from imac lineup
Mac pro the best of the macs
Also for the ipads and iphone
Jesus christ nobody understand this even in late 2019?!

Can someone please explain what is "PRO" about these?

I think ”pro” just means the best of the best. People need to get over themselves with the naming scheme, it’s just a name.

but but but

What makes a MacBook Pro more of a pro than the MacBook? Better display, better speakers, better performance, exclusive features. What makes an iPad Pro more of a pro than an iPad? Better display, better speakers, better camera, better design, exclusive features. What makes an iPhone Pro more of a pro than an iPhone? Better display, better battery, better design, better glass, better water resistance (well used to), exclusive features. What makes the AirPods Pro better than the Airpods? Better sound, better design, exclusive features, such as noise cancellation, customizable fit, sound being adapted like HomePods, force press to turn on transparency mode, water resistant, etc

iPhone XR is $599. That's pretty good by Apple standards. Also the regular airpods still exist so...
The value approach would be to make wireless charging standard at $149, instead of the stacking approach where it is simply added to the bottom of the stack.

The XR being sold as a cheaper alternative to the 11 is also a form of price stacking, designed to entice consumers with a lower point of entry, after which they see the missing features and end up looking further down the stack to the 11. There is clearly a lot to justify that $100 difference, so for the price stacking strategy to work it was decided to not lower the price of the older generation iPhones any further than $100, otherwise the top of the stack has too much value and fewer consumers will be looking further down.

Why Apple had to make an in ear tip design ? Like that’s the only reason I liked Apple ones before other headphones don’t work for me

Statistically, AppleCare isn’t worth it (or else Apple wouldn’t sell it), but it might pay for itself if you keep it the whole 2 years. The battery wears out with heavy use.

Technically this applies to any form of insurance whatsoever... home, auto, life, etc. No insurance provider on the planet sells insurance at a loss. But it still serves a purpose. But generally, the cheaper the covered item is to replace, the more people are willing to accept the statistical odds of failure.

Waiting for reviews

Same. But I do eagerly want to pull the trigger right now to purchase these. But I do have a feeling these will have astounding reviews across the board, especially with the sound improvements and they have more of a minimalistic design which looks awesome.

Very interested if the new Airpods sound different from the old ones. My guess is that the silicone/rubber seal does the most for sound improvement.

Space Grey keyboard/mouse, Rose Mac Air, Yellow phones, green phones, red phones, etc.

Apple does do color variations. headphones are just in the market a few years. It's not like it will only be white forever.

To be fair, they've been only white since 2001. Doubt that will change in the near future.

Cuz you need them for noise cancellation. The regular AirPods still exist I’m pretty sure.

In a shocking twist, Apple knew some people would, and ergo still sells the originals.
But seriously people... like a third of the replies say absolutely nothing other than to knock the "pro" name. Do these people have nothing better to do with their time than worry about that? At least have the courage to actually discuss the features added, and what you apparently think is still lacking.

I suppose what’s lacking is a reason to buy these if you’re already using airpods and battery is still decent.

And yet I just did to try them out. Lol.

Just buy them, then return if you don’t like them. I would feel pretty bummed if they become out of stock for the rest of this year because they are really popular.
