No one mentioned sound quality? I guess these are mainly designed for voice call and control, for music, at this price, is better to buy Sennheiser or b&o?

The AirPods Pro have the Qi wireless charging battery case, so the appropriate comparison is to the $199 regular AirPods, not the $159 model.
That may be so, but given that (IMHO) the *main* selling point of the AirPods Pro isn't the fact that it comes with a wireless charging case combined with the fact that (IIRC) the current-gen AirPods in both the $199 and $159 models function and perform identically (when in use), I think there's nothing wrong with comparing the AirPods Pro to the $159 AirPods.

Or put it this way--I highly doubt most folks are thinking about buying the AirPods Pro (just) because it comes with a wireless charging case.

The real question is, has Apple done anything to improve battery longevity? I'm okay with paying $250 for a high quality, premium product, but I'm not okay with the product dying and needing replacement after only two years.

I still have and use Sennheiser headphones from 10 years ago and they work great. Even my five year old Bose bluetooth headphones have had great battery longevity. Apple needs to step up here; hopefully they did.

According to the Macrumors article, seems like it is the same as the original AirPods (~5 hours per charge) and slightly less with noise cancellation on.

If Apple had actually improved the battery with the AirPods Pro, I think they would've marketed that alongside the new features.

amazing how nobody commits to commenting on sound quality. It's like they are scared of being honest or their own opinion. MKBHD's only comment was not bad. What does that mean? He compared the noise cancellation to the beats but how about the sound quality of the airpod pros. Bass, transparency, even a few sentences would help.
Most tech YouTubers are not audio specialists. They know tech, but that doesn’t mean they have a trained ear. Of the standard tech YouTubers, you might get an audio review from someone like Painfully Honest Tech, but the others know they aren’t qualified to offer anything other than a layman’s opinion. There are audio specialists on YouTube, but they have a different audience that doesn’t really overlap with Apple buyers and don’t have the reach of mega-YouTubers like MKBHD, iJustine, and SuperSaf.

YouTube tech channels are amazing. MKBHD, Linus Tech Tips, Unbox Therepy, Rene Ritchie, Austin Evans, Jonathan Morrison & Dave Lee are brilliant at what they do. Even iJustine has become watchable and interesting as she is producing some good informative content.
Don't forget everythingapplepro... of course Apple's probably not gonna send him stuff but he does great reviews.

the summary these early, early looks give are it is "good" or perhaps "better" than regular airpods which were very average. these are NOT audiophile headphones... what they are is good headphones that will satisify the majority for sound while combining noise cancelation in an unprecedented small form factor, world class bluetooth stability, incredible ease of use with the apple ecosystem, and a tiny pocketable case. For "most" of us we will be just fine with the sound quality when you consider how easy it is to make these little things part of your life that go everywhere with you.

I’m just curious if the press to pause music will work with gloves.
Gen 1 and 2 do but Saf said these are capacitive touch and I wear gloves at work and that would be a huge pain if it doesn’t work with them.

Why Youtubers? The 3 Ive seen vids are posted for- MKBHD, SuperSaf, Ijustine- carry what, 15+ million combined subscribers?

So Apple just got these in front of 15+ million eyeballs for giving away $750 worth of Airpods (not even as the "cost" is less to them). That's a marketing STEAL.

I think that's accurate. It's also a higher bandwidth thing for people. Much faster to watch a 7.5 minute video than to spend the time reading through something written by Tech Crunch or something.
Disagree, YouTube videos are harder to “skim” to get to the parts you’re interested in. I also hate listening to audio in public places so reading is just easier. Written articles also tend to be more substantive and in-depth.

I think rubbish is a bit harsh.

Will they be as good as over-ear drivers? No, it's down to laws of physics, they can't physically move enough air. Compared to other headphones of their size, they sound pretty good to me. When I want comfort and excellent sound quality, I have a set of over-ears which I use at work. My AirPods are pocketable, so the two sets satisfy two different requirements. :)

To me, someone who only uses high end in ears and over the ear phones, they were rubbish. Feature heavy and great tech, but dire quality that was basically running on the same drivers and shape as the free ones you get with the iPhone.

The PowerBeats Pro actually sound pretty close to my Sennheiser IE80's

Wow, Apple's gone completely over to the YouTubers for early access. John Gruber et al must be going nuts. Gruber in particular had a cow when the iPhone 11 was released and the little YouTuber's got review units before him.

It's a new era, for sure. Apple will always have their Apple Bloggers and friendly media people, but YouTube is where it's at for new products.
I for one use YouTube to research products. Then read later on. Sorry gruber

The article states they go as low as 20hz. If that is even true, it would probably at be at -30db lol, meaning it’s technically true but It’s not percievable.
Could you point to where that is? I've been all over the Apple website and didn't see it listed anywhere in the specs.

So sad for Gruber... Whom I stopped reading like, 5 yrs ago. Man up and get on Youtube.

Does anyone know if the new AirPod Pros have active *mic* noise cancellation, this to mute out street noise as you're walking around a city?
