These guys were doing channel checks in the supply chain so they have a slightly better guess than us, albeit not much.

And in terms of comp, low six figures for junior analyst and low seven figure for a regarded senior equity analyst seems like decent comp to me.

I went ahead and bought the Amps Air from Sol Republic, gotta say, they sound amazing.... only reason I didn't hold out for AirPods was due to them sounding the same as the inbox EarPods... I was hoping maybe they sounded better.

1. No inline controls.

2. No noise isolation.

3. No sweat/water resistance.

4. Allegedly sound just a touch better than the terrible free headphones Apple gives away with iPhone's.

5. Hard plastic in your ear.
Clearly, you can't wait to spend $160 + tax to pick up a pair of these babies.

Nice stated. You defeated every statement he made.
Really?

I agree, there is absolutely no chance that 1% of the billion iPhone users, not to count Mac, iPod, iPad, Watch, etc., not to count any non Apple smartphone or PC users looking for such a Bluetooth device, will ever buy any. No, never, not at all.

/s

There is no 1 billion iPhone users. Apple has sold 1 billion iPhone in total. But current active iPhone users would be far less than that.

Apple really botched everything this year.
50 days and still my phone has not been shipped. Now if i want these earphones I would have to wait until after the holidays if I am no one of the early adopters.Heck even the new macs are already started to slip.

Do these earphones only work with apple products?

The work like standard wireless units with normal Bluetooth for non Apple products. With Apple products there are extra features like easy paring and tap for Siri, etc.

Point is still valid if 25% of units are out of service now; keep in mind that the first several years had small numbers of units sold compared to the sales these days.

Weird that they announced the delay at the last minute considering they were so far from being ready to ship. Surely they knew way before?
Considering we have no idea - its possible a major bug or problem was discovered late in the process? Millions thinks could have happened to cause this delay. Obviously they didn't expect it.

Are you paid to write these comments? Seriously?

These use Siri. No need for external buttons. All the controls for playing music, playlists, turning up and down volume etc. are there, with the additional features that no other earbuds have of doing something like 'play hits from 1985', or even getting directions like 'how do I get to the library?'

Seriously? You think voice commands are just as easy as inline controls?

I don't know of ANY earbuds that do offer noise isolation.

Most earbuds do.

They are both sweat AND water resistant. Not sweat or water proof, but I don't know any that are.

No they are not. Where have you read that?

We don't know yet how they sound, but they won't be as good as over-the-ear headphones, but these aren't what these are. They COULD be the best in-ear buds, or the worst, we don't know. Don't purchase them until you've tried others to compare.

Yes we do. There are several online reviews. None state they sound good.

The horrors!

There are a lot of nice features too: like ACTUALLY no wires, automatic bluetooth pairing (which is a pain doing it manually), Siri integration, easier charging.

Do you know how my earbuds currently pair? I turn them on, and they say 'headphones connected within a second. Not exactly an issue.

You need to see if those additional features are worth the money. To many people they aren't, but to many people they are.

Most people I know, $160 is an impulse purchase. They see something like - oooooh, no wires at all and easy charging! $160 is a GREAT price, and purchase it immediately.

Others like you, $160 is a lot, which is why you bring up how pricey you think $160 is.

And yet, I never said anything about the price. Funny huh?
[doublepost=1478895879][/doublepost]
And that's enough for what some people want to use them for. I will be using them while walking and also while working at a desk in my office. That's enough for me.
That's great. I'm just saying it's a very flawed offering from Apple

Except he absolutely did not.

No, they aren't.

This is an ACCESSORY, not something new like an iPhone or iPad.

Show me sales of keyboards, mice, track pads, even beats headphones, to prove me wrong.
Apple doesn't disclose numbers, if you want to prove me wrong then you can show me numbers otherwise.

I went ahead and got the PowerBeats3, why? Because I said forget about the:

Use only the left, use only right, use both feature...

I mean you get 12 hours with the PB3? with both in your ear... they have W1 and controls so... I am happy...

I was just hoping to save money getting the AirPods but I also wanted them to be black...

If AirPods would have been black I would have held off till December or whatever, I was going to get someone from the shop to paint them black, but...

I'm pre-ordering these as soon as they are available. The superior microphone in them is appealing as it will likely make Siri work better. These could be my work conference call headphones when I'm using my iPhone for conference calls. And battery life should be fantastic.

Except...I believe he did. But I understand it's difficult to be humble when you're wrong.

You must have skipped the part where I replied to all his replies. I'm not wrong about a single thing. In fact your friend literally said a falsehood in that the AirPods possess any resistance to sweat or water. Ironic huh?

i don't mind the cable while listening or walking somewhere. it's untangling them that's annoying, usually taking a minute longer to get that task going.
A week or two ago I got out of my car and reached in my pocket for my EarPods for the long walk and spent over 30 seconds feeling like an idiot untangling the cable that accumulates from just a 20 minute ride.

Yes, I could put them in that plastic case they come in, but that's like an extra 15 seconds every time I put them away. These AirPods will actually save me a little time and a lot of frustration.

I will order them as soon as possible. Easily worth 160$ just to have a tangle free experience.

I hope I get them before my skiing trip in February. I think they will be great under my helmet as long as they stay in my ear. Finding a white Airpod in the snow will be a great challenge!

Great point! Only $160 with all of that technology packed in there while competitors with lesser technology sell theirs for more. Excellent point thanks for bringing it up.

You forgot...

6. Cost $160+ yes, that much.

lol that's a joke right? Two different analysts have said this will become another billion dollar revenue stream for Apple in its first quarter of release.

They delayed them because they didn't get enough excitement from people and are afraid of low sales.

Never before have I had so much money "spent" without anything to show for it. And it's not just Apple.

AirPods delayed. MacBook Pro with Touch Bar 4-5 weeks. Mavic Pro (ordered through Apple) November....., Nintendo NES Classic Edition hahaha good luck.
