Use the AirPods mainly for phone calls. Superb! The other end can't tell I'm switching between phone and AirPods.

Don't these easily fall out of your ears? I know with every generation of the iphone, my earphones always seem to fall out. I'm assuming these would too since the design and shape is very similar to all the previous apple earphones.

Anybody use them for making phone calls? How is the quality?
They're fantastic according to my husband. I do hear him nice and clear when he speaks using them. I don't want them for music only, myself, but someday I may get around to getting a pair for calls.

I'm tempted, very tempted.

But I'll wait, £150 crazy price, £69 maybe.

Looks like I maybe waiting a long time!

And yet... it's not that crazy. Similar wireless earbuds from other companies cost the same or more.

This isn't the usual "Apple Tax" here... Apple really seems to be hitting the mark on price.

Now if they can just make more of them... :)

I've had the same problem, and somewhat expected to return them for that reason. But they have never once fallen out, and I'm pretty active at the gym. And having no cords at all is awesome at the gym. The sound quality was better than I expected too. The case is clever and works really well to keep them charged. Apple has a great return policy, give them a try!

Hope they drop the price next month with the iPhone 8. I have a pair and love them, but if Apple wants to push them mainstream I think $99 is a magic number.

While I'm sure we all would love Apple product X to be cheaper, Apple has had no issue with demand at the current price point for months now. I could see them dropping them to $149 if demand starts dropping off, but I don't see that happening before January of next year (if ever)

Was very skeptical but

Shipping estimates for Apple's AirPods have improved to two to three weeks in many countries around the world, suggesting Apple is one step closer to achieving supply/demand balance for the much-desired earphones.

Since the AirPods launched in December, stock has been in short supply. For many weeks, AirPods shipping estimates were at six weeks, but stock improved enough in early August that shipping estimates dropped to four weeks.

At the new 2 to 3 week estimate, customers can expect to receive AirPods ordered today in early September.

During Apple's third quarter earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook said AirPods capacity had been bumped up and that the company was "working very hard" to get AirPods to customers as quickly as possible.

While Apple's own stock has been in flux online, Apple retail stores have occasionally received stock and third-party retailers like Best Buy have been able to offer AirPods with quicker shipping on a regular basis.

Priced at $159, the wire-free AirPods have become a popular accessory largely due to Apple's W1 chip, which significantly improves the Bluetooth connection and facilitates simple and quick transfers between different devices. The AirPods are also equipped with infrared sensors to detect when they're in the ear, and they support touch-based gestures to activate Siri and perform other tasks.

Back in June, I went to the Apple store to get a pair and they told me I would have to wait 6 weeks for them to arrive. Then I went home and ordered them from the Bestbuy website and I got them 2 days later. Lol.

Anyone think we'll see AirPods 2 next month?

It would have made sense to launch updated AirPods that could be included with the higher priced iPhone Pro but I think given that they’re just now starting to catch up to demand, now is the worst time to change the design and retool the production line. I think we’re stuck with the first Gen AirPods for at least another year.

Great headphones, really love mine! The sound quality is much better than expected. All my other headphones, wired and bluetooth, are gathering dust.
Only thing I’d want is to have them in Jet Black

I didn't buy them because of some chip, I bought them for the wireless design.

If Apple had said, "You need these because of the W1 chip." My response would have been ????

And we still talking about how the unicorn supply constraints of this product!? You can basically walk into a carrier store and walk out with one. Target will ship it to you in 2-3 days if you order online. I'm just hoping the next update will be Bluetooth 5.

They sure are. Stock sells out in minutes. Shows what you know. What I can’t believe is people like you who insist on posting this drivel when clearly you haven’t a clue.
Enlighten me on what I supposedly don't have a clue about?

Anybody use them for making phone calls? How is the quality?

The reason I purchased mine months ago was on the recommendation of another forum member (MH01) and that they worked great on phone calls.

After using mine for 6-7 months I can confirm that's the case. It makes speaking on my iPhone actually enjoyable. Sound quality is excellent in both directions. And being hands-free using my iPhone is killer. If I should lose mine (I won't), I'll quickly purchase another pair. And they stay securely in my ears in a variety of situations, including gym workouts.

AirPods are one of Apple's best products.

Call quality is great. I can't stand being on the phone while holding the phone anymore. And I love how I can walk all over the house on a call, while my phone is charging on the nightstand.

I love my Airpods! Use them in the gym everyday! As for shipping I just walked into the store and bought them. However, I'm in South Korea so I paid 219,000 won or around $190 USD for mine.
