It's going to be rather anticlimactic, after all this water under the bridge, when a customer finally gets one in their hands: This is... uh... a battery charger. Not too exciting.

Wireless charging is less efficient too...

I think that if this is likely, it will be next week now because of iOS 12.2 needed to run it.

12.2 will likely be released Monday or Tuesday, so even if they announce the product today it won't be delivered to customer before 12.2

Guys, you know what—waiting for the Airpower is worse than watching soap opera. It will be overpriced and it won’t make you a selfie—it’s supposed to be only a charger

Honestly, MacRumors, at this point just let us know when it's out. It's getting a little annoying to constantly see this same image of a product that doesn't yet exist in circulation. This thing is getting more airtime than rumors of the original iPhone's launch.

Weird to not launch it this week with everything else, or at (immediately after?) the event, so... Monday?

Hype will end soon as the price is revealed: $249.
What a stubborn design by Apple...I can only imagine this being the idea of some VP (or the CEO) and it was pushed through just to emulate the Steve Jobs liking for challenges.
Useless for Face ID, useless for most watches bands...(they even have a watch charger with stand to support the WatchOS feature)...
Who will even charge two Watches at same time or two AirPods? Will be the people sharing this thing? Where you put it? In your bed table or in your wife/GF one?

I do get tired of the brainless posts from these editorials about "Rumors" and "what If's" that are endless. The horse is dead so stop beating it and Apple. **** or get off the pot already with releasing this. I've invested in 2 new sets of AirPods, I'd think the least you can do is be timely about releasing the mat.

My money is Timmy wants to feel good on Monday like a job well done for releasing it and have a pat on the back. But I agree. STOP POSTING HEADLINES about stuff that isn't yet released after you've already done 100 stories theorizing and not being correct.

My bet is $149
I'd buy it only if it was < $100 but I find it very unlikely
I’ll buy it if it’s the equivalent of 3 chargers in price I bought. That mophie one I got ass like $50. So $150 is my magic number

too late. Way too late

Article says Apple Watch series 3... what would prevent a series 2 from being able to use inductive charging? I smell another Apple d-bag move where they somehow limit older models for a made-up reason.

I don't have any Qi chargers yet but might consider this one if the price isn't ridiculous.
Plan on ridiculous. It's Apple, and it's a new model of something.

Macrumors just doesn't want to give up with this particular product. LOL! Apple has no intention of releasing this product, yet MR will keep giving this particular accessory the news time. Ridiculous!

Maybe I’m just cheap but I don’t understand the people who will pay $250+ for this. It’s definitely very convenient and it will look nice but for $250 (purely my assumption on pricing) I can deal with a few extra wires.
