Is “air” the new “i”? Will all Apple products now have “air” in the name? AirPower! AirPhone? AirMovie? AirMac? AirTunes? Crazy times. Oh well. At least it makes it easier to search for tips and tricks than for “Pages” and “Numbers”...
Air signifies a wireless device.
Airport was a wireless router. Airplay, originally AirTunes, was a wireless audio and video protocol.
AirPods are wireless headphones.
Airpower was a wireless charger.
Airtags are wireless trackers.

The latest generation was introduced in September 2019. That is not Q1

You’re on two different tangents, the entry level 9.7 inch and Pro line Are not mutually exclusive. The 9.7 inch [educational] iPad launched in the first quarter in the March-April timeframe. Which will be accurate what I said, with the other products likely launching during that timeframe that won’t be detract away from the iPhone.

I’m almost 100% sure the watches are coming sooner than that. Literally, every single watch is pushed way back on Apple‘s website. That never happens if the watch is still a month or two months away. So my guess is, like Jon said before, Apple Watch, iPad (2020) and iPad Air (2020) next week. These are all rumored to be updates that really don’t need stage time.

Good point, the current lead time is about a month for an S5 Watch. There has been no supply issue (Foxconn output was back to normal since late March), nor demand issue like iPad.

Why would anyone think there would be an Apple Watch release with its own event or without an event?
Two reasons.
Number one, Apple has absolutely no financial incentive to delay the Apple Watch launch to coincide with the iPhones launch. The reason for the iPhones delay has all to do with supply chain delays. The Apple Watch is facing none of those according to the information that we have, so there’s no reason to delay it. On top of this, at Apple‘s last quarterly earnings call, they said the (iPhone) would be pushed back a couple weeks. They did not say that (our products) would be pushed back a couple weeks. They very specifically said the iPhone.
Secondly: the Apple Watch series6, again, according to the information we have, sounds like a very minor update. By introducing it early, they could save time in the event for something like a HomePod mini, air tags, or an ARM Mac

Sorry, no. The entry-level iPad, and the education iPad are the exact same product. The iPad pros and the rest of the line do not follow a specific lineup. The two rumor iPads to be updated this upcoming month are the iPad, and the iPad Air. The iPad Pro is not rumored to have an update until at the earliest Q1 of next year.

there was just a rumor last week of iPad pro coming q4.

Why would anyone would be excited about AirTags?

Wasn’t the same said about the Apple Watch? Or the AirPods? The Airtags have huge potential if they’re priced Appropriately. The options are endless how you could possibly use those that will correspond with the iPhone, I don’t know they would just dismiss something because you don’t find use for it, when others will.

Last year event invites was send out on August 29th, 2019.

How would we know Apple released a new watch? It wouldn't be fair to the people if it gets back ordered.

A press release.
An advertisement on their site.
You don’t have to have a gigantic event to alert people that there is a new product. Many companies release products without any hoopla

AirTags will be the poor man's asset tracking. Stick one on hour truck, car, whatever, and you can find it. Maybe Apple will build it into airpods, ipads, macs, as well. Glue one to your dslr, drone, cat, dog.

The entry-level iPad, and the education iPad are the exact same product.

Right, we already all know that. Entry-level, meaning the cheapest, most affordable iPad, which is why it’s geared toward the educational segment (Which, I’ve already mentioned twice now that’s why they launch that during quarter 1 as they have for two years in a row). You’re just making obvious points for the sake of arguing over nothing. Everyone here knows that an entry-level iPad and educational iPad are mutual exclusive.

I would like to agree with you, because the dates that you just gave hare very similar to the ones that Jon gave. However, the iPhone X launched on November 3. So it’s very possible for an iPhone to launch in November.
I'm NOT so sure about that !

AAPL MUST execute their Quarterly Earnings Release NO LATER THAN the End of Oct !

And, naturally, as ALWAYS, they NEED to know the 1st weekend Sales Numbers for their newest iPhones BEFORE that !

Just looking at the calendar for Oct, the iPhone 12 family will very-likely be Released on Friday, Oct 23rd !

That very-likely means "the Announcement" will be made the week of Oct 12th !

NOT Rocket Science !

Just go back two years and look at the timing of the XR relative to their Earnings Call !

So, this report is based on a speculation, which is based on rumors.

In other news, Steve Jobs is now with Elvis, putting the finishing touches on a new album for Apple Music.

I think since the iPhone event is likely pushed to October, that increases the chances we might get a press release next week of the Watch and iPad. That would help fill the gap of what we're used to every September.

also, does Series 6 need to be shown on stage? It sounds like an extremely incremental update from Series 5.
