does Series 6 need to be shown on stage?

No. The Apple Watch is such a mature device, there’s nothing scheduled this year to really be worth highlighting that really would need its own event. The ‘Series 7‘ will probably be the major revamp in terms of physical changes, along with other health advancements. I suspect the Series 6 Apple Watch will be targeted towards Series 3 owners primarily.

44mm aluminum watches shipping times have slipped, or are non-existent, on Apple’s website. Something is afoot, as Bill and Ted would say.

I maybe in the minority, but for me, Prosser has made the anticipation of fall launches more fun.

I don’t really understand why you all are so impatient. 😂

Apple will eventually release the new iPhones this fall. Is it really important if the event will take place in September or October?

Time is flying, man... Summer is done... And... Winter is coming. 😏😎

Was it just me or does anyone else feel like the rumors at this point had become a convenient method for every single “leakers” to take advantage on with no consequences?

Every single year rumors appear online claiming the event itself is delayed, Apple always managed to deliver in September as usual and consumers have all been trained to expect that.

It’s a bit difficult to put it into words, but starting from JP’s “leaked launch dates” a couple weeks back, these “rumors” had lost me and I have grown a bit fed up with everyone chiming in to say something about the dates for exposure........

Don’t get me wrong, I look forward to the phone reveal so badly. But these “rumors”? ....... Nope. 🙄

If they can just release the watches already, that would be swell. My exercise bike should be here in the next three weeks, and I need an apple watch to help track and link to the Pelaton app. I'm also due for a new phone, but at least I have one right now. I don't have an apple watch :(

Hate to be the one to say it, but you're on MacRumors. :p

They should just announce it next week. The iPhone X was also released two months after the event. That way at least they can already drop iPhone 11 prices.

Prosser is the most reliable of any of the 'leakers' at the moment, particularly around hardware releases. It seems very likely he does have sources within Apple, of some kind.
His tweet quoted earlier in this thread, about the September and October releases of the watch, ipad and iphones, is pretty specific, so will go a long way further to confirming his credibility if it comes to pass.

I suspect the ‘studio headphones’ and HomePod revamp will be Q1 in 2021. Apple won’t release to many products at once, that would just detract away from the iPhone main highlight.

And miss the lucrative Holiday shopping season?!?!

Apple could do other types of announcements like when they invite the Youtubers to NYC... instead of taking time away from the iPhone event.

Though the iPhone has no problem getting attention even if there are other products announced at the same time. It will be covered by every media outlet. Everyone will know the new iPhone came out. :p

That's exactly why Apple won't announce in September.

You've got a bunch of silly people here who keep thinking Apple will announce this week or next and ship October, without carefully considering the real issues.

Meh, I was hoping for at least sometime in Sept! I guess that means a delay on iOS 14 too?
It's hard to predict at this point. Apple has been on schedule with Beta releases.

They will announce whenever Apple is ready. But I do believe they are all done with the filming the press release.

This is the first I've heard of any Apple Watch coming next week rumor. That would be amazing. I've been waiting to buy a new AW as a gift for someone whose old S1 finally crapped out. Almost perfect timing if they can deliver in September.

Personally, I'm eager to upgrade my phone this year too. I'd gladly wait until late Oct/early Nov if that's what it took to get a 120 Hz display inside, but if not they might as well announce in Sept and ship as soon as they can.
