You sold a 128GB iPhone for $1,580? You knowingly ripped that person off, massively. How do you sleep at night?

Ummm, how did he rip anyone off? You really need to understand economics. Having said that I do hate people who do this...but that's why you have to be quick at midnight.

I thought it was clear. The sales figures will tell us how well the iPhone 7 performs to previous models.

Cause.......a bunch of people here are waving the Pom poms due to said iPhone being sold out. Sold out means jack to be honest, if the supply is constrained.

So based on "sold out" you could have sold 10 or 10 million...

Sales figures are facts, sold out is a status.

Why not just assume Apple sold 10 units and move on with your life. Amazing how so many people's happiness is driven by how bad or well Apple does.

Other phone manufacturers do not report first week sales. See no reason why Apple must.

If it is really bothering you that much just wait until the quarterly report.

Press about this won't hurt the iPhone 7's image. But I would guess Apple would rather have ample stock in stores to sell than a small PR win. This popularity looks to have surprised even Apple.

Cause I'm sharing my opinion on the matter, on a rumour site about all things apple.

Mate, I've tried get back to a level with you were we can have decent debate etc, but franky due to your condesencing nature, means I really could not care what your think going forward.

Feel free to add somehting to the debate other than a personal attack on me having an opinion on a matter, pathetic . amazing how many people on this site resort to personal digs at other members.

Assuming the guy is selling this to a rationale adult then more power to him. Time is money, someone had to wait up at night and order it.

Yes, I am sure apple doesn't want excess supply but the definitely didn't want this either.

If anybody is reading this message I just called Apple themselves and talked to two different Representatives tech support and as well the sales department she said she has no clue but Apple would have said something not at the last minute she said as far as she knows the phones will be sold tomorrow both models she said whatever you're reading it must be a rumor

Well considering this is the 11th iPhone Apple has made and that the company is run by a supply chain guru this lack of stock of all plus models and jet black models seems to me like poor planing.
There are going to be 7's available. Each year more people are converting to the bigger sizes. Exactly how many year over year is an extremely difficult thing to predict. Plus, Samasungs flub was impossible to predict and happened weeks before. Would you rather them pump them out without QA? I think Samsung has reminded how much worse that option is.

Hi,
this is very interesting article. As I´m in the 2nd wave country, I do not believe to the information, that all the iphones was sold out already. They have to deliver "some/a few" iPhones also to 2nd wave countries. In Czech Republic we do not have regular store (expect online Apple Store), we have here only Apple Premium Resellers, so I think most of them will receive limited volume of the phones.

They allocated the phones intended for walk in launch day customer to the IUP fiasco. It's pretty simple. That's why there won't be any of the popular models available for walk ins.

Oh well. I was thinking of stopping by the Apple store and getting a jet black IP7, but I guess I won't need to waste my time. I don't understand how they could be sold out at the retail stores. So the stores don't get their own orders and get from the same supply as the online ordering? I was about to order one last Friday morning, but I had too many questions regarding the plans because I have to either get the Apple payment or AT&T Next, which I've never had either.

It is funny that Apple has a product launch for a product that you can't even buy on launch day. Only Apple.

Wasn't meant to be an attack on you - apologize for making it personal. But seriously wondering why so many peoples' happiness is driven by whether Apple, for example, releases first week sales figures or not. Other companies don't. It's not a conspiracy. It's as if there is huge joy to be had trying to discover one, finding a gotcha moment. Intentionally constraining supply is another one. Even when there were record iPhone 6 sales and people could not get one quickly.

I could care less if Apple sells 10 units or 10 million the first weekend. What I do care about, as a customer, is that Apple makes products I like. Should they not in the future, it's easy to jump ship. I have no emotional attachment to gadgets. They're just tools.

you're battling Apple's PR department who are always out quickly on hotly contested threads ... there's a pattern.

He he he. Some I really don't mind, you can have a good debate, some are just petty, some very smart, a big mixture actually. Still lots of good people here.

Remember we who question .....are always wrong and should not be allowed an opinion unless is glowing positive praise for apple.... lol

The damned-if-you-do Apple release cycle continues.

Ramped up units available for the 6S, took a beating for having too many and not selling out.

Lowers production for the 7, takes a beating for selling out.

Must suck to work in Operations or Treasury there...
