I don't get why it's named this way:

iPad
iPad 2
iPad with Retina Display
The "New" iPad
iPad Air

Why not just say 1,2,3,4,5?!?

Next: The "New" iPad Air
and then: iPad Air withOUT Retina Display!

Seems like they cut the battery capacity in the iPad Air by over 20% from the iPad4. I doubt it can retain the same amazing battery life, but we will see.

It's a dealbreaker for me if it doesn't.

iPad4: 42.5-watt-hour
iPad Air: 32.4-watt-hour

Sold!

Thinner and lighter is good, the A7 is a beast of a SoC even compared to the A6X and will be a big jump up from my A5X. The improvements to WiFi are a big deal too and are likely to make a noticeable difference in my daily use. There was a part of me that was hoping for an A7X and pro apps but those aren't must haves for me. Touch ID would have been nice but, at the same time, I don't have it on my iPhone so in a weird way I'd rather not have it as it'd mean a slightly different process for each device that'd probably irritate me after a while. Oh, and I'll be somewhat surprised if the Air doesn't deliver significantly more battery life than that 10 hours in the real world.

I do wonder if there's some truth in that rumour about a bigger iPad coming in the not too distant future though. They've certainly cleared a space in the lineup and there seemed some fairly solid A7X details which would make sense in a pro product...

If anyone could get me the default wallpaper that'd be cool.

Or just a screenshot of the lock screen.

I can't wait til next week. I have to replace so I don't have separate chords all the time. Plus my battery drains way to fast on my ipad 3 now.

I'll definitely be getting the new iPad, just sold my iPad 4 also :D

Mini or Air...hmmmm, decisions decisions.

Good to see the Mini is available with 128gb.

Very excited, I get Nov 1'st off from school so I'll actually be able to pick mine up in person :D

A7X will be in some kind of iPad in the next 6 months; probably saving it for when they release higher-res screens

They're getting to the point where there will no longer be major upgrades every year. In the future the improvements will be more incremental. Better camera here, faster processor there, better battery,.... The only other things they can add that would be truly big improvements (at leas in my humble opinion) are a Wacom-style digitizer and multiple open windows on the screen at a time. This is the 2013 version of the iPad air. Next year will be the 2014 version and so on.

All rather boring, I would not replace my iPad 3 or my iPad 4 for this.

I concur there's nothing exciting - only the Air name surprised me, and possibly that there's an A7 in the Mini - but plenty reason to upgrade from a 3 or Mini 1 imo. The 4, not so much.
