Not going to take a decrease in screen size at this point. Pass on the 8.
I think I'm going to pass on the 8 too. I'm going to wait for Apple to put that 6.5" screen (mentioned in the Homepod leak) in the frame of a 7 Plus.

Ugh I hate that naming. The word "edition" calls for an adjectival modifier of some kind. Special Edition, Anniversary Edition, Gold Edition, etc. But not "Edition" on its own.My bet is that it will be called iPhone Edition.
To me, these big phones are rediculous. If you keep your phone in your front pocket you cant even sit down. I’ll take a smaller phone any time. Jobs was correct with his vision of the size of the device. If you need something bigger, then use an iPad or iMac.I think I'm going to pass on the 8 too. a real bigger screen, not only more height.
The 7+ has a bigger usuable screen real estate. 5.5", whereas the OLED iPhone 8 will only have 5.15" of usable screen real estate. The biggest difference is the width of the 7+, which makes it feel a lot more spacious.

Yeah plumber model looks like a killer - great for filling the streetsThat colour is actually Bronze, not copper. That means Bronze and Silver. Maybe there is no Gold because it looks gaudy on glass.
iPhone8,or X, or Pro, or Edition in Bronze will probably be the most in demand colour at launch as it's the only one which really screams "New iPhone here".

I agree, those rectangular phones with a big glass screen on the front are so boring.
Time to get a round one or a triangle one.
Apple should start the September event with a very serious and glowing presentation on the new spherical iPhone, see how long they can keep up the straight face. See how many people rush to twitter to excitedly break the news.I hate when people complain about the design of the iPhone and how it remained the same on the 7. Look at the Macbooks, iMacs, iPads. Form factor has spanned many product releases. What we are looking at now is a matured product. I for one love the 6-7 design. I think its perfect.
That’s what’s so unusual and unique about that naming convention. The assumption is that the product is so unique that you don’t need another word to call it “edition”. It’s an iPhone, therefore, exclusive.Ugh I hate that naming. The word "edition" calls for an adjectival modifier of some kind. It should be slightly larger than the 4.7 model, but slightly smaller than the 5.5. With the smaller bezels though, it will house a larger screen (5.8) with a higher resolution (3x opposed to 2x currently). So you'd be getting a larger screen in a more compact size, kind of the best of both worlds.
Isn't it 5.8 with the elongated aspect ratio? And we don't really how mich of that is going to be actual usable screen vs (semi)permanent UI fixtures. Usable screen surface area might turn out to be slightly smaller than the 5.5.
Yes. Having come from a 6s with its Qualcomm chip, the ability to stay on LTE and call quality in weak signal areas is notably diminished.Has that really been an issue? I thought all non-US iPhone 7’s were using the Intel radio chipsets?
If anything we’ll likely soon see Apple designing it’s own radio chipsets as well. Or building them into the A series.
They've been wrong many times. What's so funny? It's a rumored website where most of the sources on here are nothing more than speculation and analyst mudslinging. Digitimes has had some accurate predictions or reports in the past with the Apple Watch and iPhone.
The most reliable source would be Ming Kuo.

When you're spending $600+ on a new model, it should be an upgrade. No compromises. That's one of the main reasons it sounds like I'll be skipping the new iPhone 8 sans Touch ID. But I'd gladly go to a 7s to get back the Qualcomm radio and keep Touch ID. Shame so many of us will have to forego whatever other improvements come in the "8" just to retain functionality that should never be absent from a phone as expensive as it's rumored to be.

Will the iPhone 7S share the same screen as the iPhone 8, or just the same from the iPhone 7?
Only $44 a monthconsidering the mass majority does month to month payments and is on some kind of upgrade plan, I would say a ton.
I wouldn't have a clue. But I'm sure Apple will eventually think of a way.Put on your hardware designer hat. If the entire screen is all screen, where are you putting the technology located in that cutout?
I read that the iPhone 8 will have a screen size of 5.1", but I guess just about all the information we have regarding the decennial iPhone is speculation and rumor. Why continue the Plus model at all, considering the new iPhone 8 or whatever it is called will have a bigger (5.8”) and better (OLED) screen, all in a smaller body? The price difference between the two should not be much different either, unless they price 8 super high. What is the target market for 7S Plus then?
