Alleged iPhone 5S User Guide Photo Highlights Fingerprint Sensor As 'Touch ID'

iphone 5s

You keep referring to a "new" iphone being released today. Whats wrong with you guys? Its just last years model. Wait for the iPhone 6 which will really be classified as "new".

America is not the only country that exists.

It's just the only one that matters.

Doesn't matter much lately. A failed economy, a failed foreign policy, humiliated by Russia in the snowden and Siria case, challenged by China.... And Apple is doomed!

So a phone is just the case?

Don't embarrass yourself

And even if they think the icons look good it's still not a good reason to use a plain wallpaper. Pretty much all phones have wallpapers and it usually makes the phone look more appealing. Why use plain backgrounds? Especially a colour like white.. That's insane. When I look at these iPhone 5C/5S pictures with plain wallpapers, it reminds me of some beta product...

As this phone is still unannounced these might be beta tests and not the final thing.

I assume the fingerprint sensor will be used to log in to password protected websites. I wonder how it will work on sites that block browsers from saving the password?

Humiliated? We got Russia to do the dirty work for us and make it seem like it was THEIR idea to disarm an ally.

And challenged by China? Google "China Ghost Cities" and let me know how tall you think the house of cards over there can rise before the entire enterprise collapses in on itself.

Well, there were touchscreen phones before the iPhone. You don't seem very informed...

I was referring to the first touch screen smartphone in the context of Apple/Samsung and HTC.

Newspapers already do that. They add info and value. Trolls like you just add nothing

Perhaps you are misinformed, but newspapers are not in the business of adding information and value. They are in the business of selling newspapers. What they produce are what they think people want and are willing to pay for.

Apple is not in the business of making the world a better place. They are in the business of creating products as cheaply as they can (horrendous working conditions) and selling those products to people at the highest price they can (400% - 500% profit margin)

When the public gets "bored" of the NSA stories, the papers will stop printing them. When the brandtards get "bored" of Apple (noted by investors with their 30% drop in share price) then the tiniest bit of innovation is viewed as ground breaking and is shielded aggressively from people trying to point it out for what it is.

So the MacBook airs which were announced at WWDC 2013 aren't 'new' because they only have different internals, and the same case?

NFC payments are massive outside the USA.

I live outside the USA and get around a lot (China, UK, Germany, Italy, France, The Netherlands, USA). Please show me where it is used really widespread and not only in a few retail chains such as Starbucks outside of the USA.

Ans please provide some evidence that it is actually USED. I'm aware of some pilot programs and retail chains having them (I saw them at WH SMiths in the UK) but have NEVER EVER seen anyone use the function.

Taking failed technology and making it succeed isn't a problem, paying the rightful owners seems to be the problem. Suing people for technology/ideas you've stolen is pure hypocrisy .

Design patents are not absolute in terms of their longevity. They do expire based on their date of issue. Furthermore, a patent on a base concept will not prevent another company from applying for a patent on improvements to the base concept. If the improvement is significant enough, then many times, one patent holder cannot operate without the other, and lawsuits can arise.

How is the legal protection of an improvement of a base patent theft or hypocrisy?

I suspect the metal ring is an anti-tampering feature for capacitive/temperature/pulse sense when you place your finger on the button. It will not likely light up.

I want to see Adam Savage try to defeat this one.

If this touch sensor is actually coming today (and I think it is), Tim Cook actually did a great job keep his word on the double down. We have seen controlled leaks of the 5C (random parts don't count) but we haven't truly seen a leak for the 5S. I don't count the controlled leak of a random blurry box or packaging insert a few hours before the event.

All that being said... I wish a bigger phone was coming. I enjoy the size now, I truly do, but wouldn't mind a larger screen at this point.

And a new iPod Classic.

How do you figure - there's been tons of gossip around fingerprint scanning for months now...

Good try, but this says only that NFC-EQUIPPED phones are sold. It says nothing about the NFC transactions. That's something entirely different.

Oh, sorry, I thought you may have been able to work out what happens next using logic.

Let's try and put in another format you may understand, a picture:

1_251306_nfc_payment_transaction_value_in_the_un.jpg

Note, this demonstrates nearly a 1000% increase in 2013 from 2012 of NFC transactions. Wait, you capitalized and underlined it. Let me!

This graph demonstrates the number of NFC TRANSACTIONS in millions of dollars.

The ring round the home button would bring the hardware in line with the new look of OS7. The number pad keys on the lock screen and phone app are exactly the same.
