NSA Has Full "Back Door" Access To iPhone, BlackBerry And Android Smartphones, Documents Reveal

The United States' National Security Agency intelligence-gathering operation is capable of accessing user data from smart phones from all leading manufacturers. Top secret NSA documents that SPIEGEL has seen explicitly note that the NSA can tap into such information on Apple iPhones, BlackBerry devices and Google's Android mobile operating system.

The documents state that it is possible for the NSA to tap most sensitive data held on these smart phones, including contact lists, SMS traffic, notes and location information about where a user has been.

In the internal documents, experts boast about successful access to iPhone data in instances where the NSA is able to infiltrate the computer a person uses to sync their iPhone. Mini-programs, so-called "scripts," then enable additional access to at least 38 iPhone features.

The fingerprint scanner isn't a problem until you use it for something important and then it's compromised. And the NSA is compromising everything they can, and are secretly working with companies who use encryption products to compromise them. So I'd say it's risky to tie your unchangeable biometrics to technology that is quite possibly broken out of the gate.

It may indeed be wise to take a wait-and-see attitude on this one. Individual passwords, that can be changed at any time, as well as that trusty 'keychain' and a host of other third-party, one-password apps will presumably still work as well, so let's see how reliable and fail-safe this 'Touch ID Sensor' turns out to be, before jumping in with both feet.

I'm sure they also have full access to US passports that include biometric info, and the database of Customs' fingerprints of foreigners who visited the US as well.

The NSA is extremely interested in your whatsapp messages...

If you are plotting a terrorist attack, them Im very happy the NSA intercepts that info. If you are sending the best idea since sliced bread, then i guess you will encrypt your emails. If you are telling your wife you are late for supper, the NSA won't give a ****

Seriously, so what? If they want to trawl through my text messages from my girlfriend telling me to get milk on the way home from work and emails from Amazon, I'm fine with that.

I've nothing to hide, so why should I care?

Dam, it is confirmed to have the same small screen. Not that it was expected, I was just hopeful.

this is the only that is preventing from buying the 5s. i wish it was a little bit wider.

Yes, Tim walked into meeting after meeting and kept demanding "more ugly... give me more ugly..."

Where do you people come up with **** like this? They "WANT" the phone to look ugly??? Ha ha ha ha ha

I was trying to emphasise how bad I think some of their products look right now.

For me the worse part about iOS 7 is the icons, so I guess it just amazes me that Apple would even want to put so much focus on them with a plain wallpaper. And even if they think the icons look good it's still not a good reason to use a plain wallpaper. Pretty much all phones have wallpapers and it usually makes the phone look more appealing. Why use plain backgrounds? Especially a colour like white.. That's insane. When I look at these iPhone 5C/5S pictures with plain wallpapers, it reminds me of some beta product that has no wallpaper feature.

Anyway I know.. nobody cares, blah blah blah, I'm in the minority, this was all apart of Steve's vision, it's impossible for Apple to make mistakes, etc..

Actually I would say those icons look best with a white background due to their very strong colours. I imagine when they were designing them, they did it on a white background.

This is also how they were presented when someone did that comparison against the old icons, and the new ones scored very well.

The trouble is most people have mid-tone to dark backgrounds, which make these new icons look horrible.

The origin of “You have nothing to fear, if you have nothing to hide” is unclear but the saying is believed to be based on George Orwell's book 1984. It has also been attributed to Nazi Joseph Goebbels.

News flash.

Your timestamp and location data from your texts reveals that you were speeding and rolled through several stop signs, here are your tickets.

wait till u text message a mistress some messages.

then you become a "somebody"

and some savvy thug gets a hold of your messages you wrote to your mistress 10 years ago

then blackmails u

the "why should I care" becomes a 'holy moley, i wish i knew better' moment.

think about your potential future.

It would also show I was texting whilst driving. But I don't do that. I don't speed or roll through stop signs. Nor do anything else illegal (at least not that I know of). So again - I've nothing to hide, so why should I care?

Everyone cries about this stuff until it's their turn to be helped by it. It's like CCTV - everyone seems to moan about the amount of CCTV cameras everywhere, but I'm sure they'd change their tune when they got mugged.

Apple surprise us "one more thing...." and tell us that the Dutch language is implemented in Siri!!!!

You know apple is not the first to have a fingerprint scanner on a smartphone, right?
So is apple copying, or is it they know how to do it right?

I never claimed they were the first to do it. Samsung likes to copy anything revolutionary or simply 'done well' by Apple and always give them shocking names.

too bad re: the silver ring.

sad to see apple give up design simplicity to call attention to a new feature. more of a samsung move imo.
