What surprises me most is that on a technology forum, people are content with 1gb of ram when it absolutely blows. Unless they re-worked something that doesn't lose our data in tabs when we're browsing (I can't believe I just said that in 2014), then yes the device needs more memory end of story. Why is it a discussion still? Makes no sense to argue that it doesn't need more ram.
Apple engineers are smarter than all of you with regards to iPhone platform... because they see THE WHOLE PICTURE, not just geekbench scores and what's in Xcode.
When you find someone who knows the platform from top to bottom, including all the intermediate prototype iterations that have been tried and abandoned for whatever reasons, someone who knows ALL the silicon without the pain of having to reverse engineer it, someone who has unlimited source code for the entire platform, including the hardware drivers, someone who's been on the iPhone design team since years BEFORE iPhone 1, someone who eats, sleeps and breathes the ENTIRE symbiosis of what comprises an iOS device in its entirety...
... Then I'll take you seriously.
A comment like this makes me wonder why you even have friends like that if you're this impressionable.
I ride the S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams every day and see quite a bunch of iPhones... not sure which part of town you're in? which Uni?
and.. how's your boy Kay One doin?
And it would. But I want to see the person who - when pushed for an objective assessment - would say that the overall experience is better with 1GB. To me, saying that 1GB also has some (small) advantages over 2GB is a way of saying that the glass is 10% full as opposed to 90% empty. You missed the previous threads on this where you had many arguing that adding 1GB of ram would make battery life so much worse.
Note 4 is also clocked 100mhz slower then a8 so add 200-300 points if it were clocked the same.
For those trying to compare clock for clock and I'm sure geekbench is not optimised for 64bit on android so wait for true android lollipop with true 64bit support to compare them apples to apples
dont take it so serious. i was obviously exaggerating #
those are the people (like me) that engage with their phone more because the apple user experience is simply better![]()
- oh i dont care about either one but i cant change my user name. i regret it everytime i come on here lol it was during my "rebel" phase back in the day #

Tabs reloading in safari, App crashing, etc. when I look at a phone I think where I'll be in 2 years because I'll have a contract. I can't believe you're trying to justify 1GB of RAM in a phone that is coming out and will be popular in 2015!
1G is more than PS3
Cool so now we can adjust this graph and say that performance flat lined.
Ridiculously bad move on Apple's part.
And from the 4 to the 4S, it was a 3.8% upgrade.
And the "we" in your posting are the 0.5% of users who actually upgrade from an iPhone 5S to an iPhone 6. Most upgrades will come from older models.
Disappointing with 1 GB RAM, but not surprising.
If I had a shill account, this is exactly what I would say.
Like I stated in an older RAM discussion... My FireTv has 2GB and it blows all streaming players out of the water and it cost 99 bucks.
Subsidized, blah blah. I know all about it.
ugh my computer science and android friends will **** me to death making fun of the 1GB ram for months to come lol
i bet they announce a 5.5" phone with 2GB or more of RAM and a few other goodies. the one more thing not being leaked

Really? Because I don't have a shill account, and this is what I would say. I'm currently using a Lumia 820 that's 2 years old, and it has 1gb of RAM in it. I would expect more from a flagship device 2 years later.
1G is more than PS3
If I remember correctly you don't multi-task in the PS3
You won't know yet when you buy. They don't advertise amount if ram
