There's no conditioning. It isn't enough to keep them cached. Especially when you have a game or media heavy app also running. You'll have to reload each page which is annoying for productivity.

It's beyond annoying, it's counterproductive.

There are 3 solid people, in these forums, that have Apple signals (think Bat signal) when RAM is discussed.

They cry havoc when all the logical people post eloquent arguments for it. I just wonder how much Apple pays them or if they just love to oppose everything in their lives.

That is beyond being trolls and having opinions, that's just plain sad. No one in their right mind would advocate for 1GB of RAM, less is never more... That's why it's called "less".

The fact that these phones boot with 1GB doesn't mean they run well. Using the A7 and A8 are like trying to force an elephant down a garden hose.

No matter what you "1 gigers" say, you can't polish this turd with all the wax on the planet.

iPhone is not running all in Java VM so it does not need as much RAM as Android, k?

I just opened one tab on my iPad to look up the features of iOS 8, came back to this tab where I wrote a few lines into this comment and the page refreshed. Magic of 1 gig of ram at work. Extensions, seems like things are gonna get worse if this is true and all new devices still sport 1 gig of ram.

iPad yes, iPhone no.

You do realize the iPhone came first and that the iPad is a large iPhone without a phone number?

If this helps, think of the iPhone as a small iPad.

They both require the same amount of RAM. In a perfect world, where Android roams, the tablet should get more RAM.

iOS is nice but 2014 should actually be the LAST year they put 2GB in a phone and 3 in the iPad. No iOS OEM's means no competition. They have zero incentive to give us what we want. We are nothing to them.

If they want to kill PC's, then by all means, do it, stop nickle and diming us and stop crippling the experience. Don't tell us we have a "desktop class" CPU, then give us Texas Instruments calculator RAM.

What problems have you had with 1GB of RAM?
Tell me one problem that you've faced that requires a higher amount of RAM.

Check other RAM related forums, step back from the pipe and then read your crash logs.

If you have never read an iOS crash log, we are all going to ignore you.

Very disappointed in this news. First 1GB RAM and then a 720p screen. My iPhone 5S isnt too bad with Safari compared to my Retina Mini with tab reloads... but it still happens much to frequently.

I was hoping this was software related, but I have had this issues since iOS5. I can't imagine Apple wouldn't have fixed this problem already. This is my only disappointment with my current Apple products.

There may be a chance this memory is LPDDR4 memory, which offers higher performance and lower power draw.

However, I have a feeling it's just LPDDR3 like it's always been...

Here we go with all the comments, it's not good enough etc.

That's OK, you enjoy your old devices while we enjoy our new iPhone 6.
Why does someone always feel the need to post a message like this? There are legitimate gripes about Apple's devices...no need to try to stiffle them (which your post is obviously trying to do).

Nice high resolution camera previews there.
....

I was hoping to see a blown up version of the photo but it's hard to tell how good a camera is when all they show is a thumbnail. Did you find s high resolution version?

Sorry, but anyone who even attempts to defend Apple giving us 1GB RAM are fighting a losing battle.

Absurdity.
