If the 6 is only .1ghz faster, then it may be close to the 5s in performance.

Number of GHz doesn't tell much about the actual speed of the processor. For the last 10 years or so, desktop processors have been in the same GHz range but still improved their processing speed. They handle more instructions per clock cycle.

Not that I'd need any more cpu power on my phone, power optimization is much more important currently.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Apple! Don't be an ass again!
You know we love you so much! How can you do this to us?

1GB, I'm out.

Maybe next year Apple... When Android will have 64bit and 4GB of RAM.

I would say it's been fun but it hasn't. 1GB with a "desktop class" CPU is the biggest joke in the mobile industry.

Flavored water drinkers, commence with the iOS "optimiZzzzzz" argument.

They should've gone with 1.5 GBs to account for more pixels... Whatever I guess, apple doesn't care to cater to the few percent of buyers who even know what RAM is.

And that would be fine if like Macs users could choose and pay for a higher spec for themselves – but you can't do that for iPhone which is bad for your loyal (and informed) and/or power users. The 1 GB of present does not provide good enough levels of performance for all users.
People use their devices differently to one another whether they're on the desktop or pocket and if Apple chooses the no-fragmentation route, better for developers, you have two options: 1. hurt the aforementioned loyal but informed customers and lose or upset power users. 2. upgrade the RAM before it becomes a problem to make sure devices last, improving your brand, at a tiny financial loss. For some reason with over $100 Bn sat in the bank they still settle for a tiny increase in margins.

1GB RAM? LOL ok.

I guess they have to hold something back for the 6S next year right?

Typical Apple. If there's one thing other companies do better it's putting everything into their devices and not holding back, poor implementation or not.

You don't know what you're talking about. It's doing better than the g3 in that benchmark. If you're getting caught up in specs, you should move to android. Great phones and they'll satisfy your need to boast about specs :D

Well android is android. So no thank you.

I very seriously doubt that. Geekbench 3 appears to be able to take advantage of any number of cores available.

Well the small increase over the 5S would explain the clockspend increase as well as new architecture. The big jump will be with the quad core over the dual core.

Again, thank me after the keynote ;)

I don't know that they'll be mentioning memory at all further confirming 1gb.

If they were they'd say "double memory from previous generations" without coming out with it.

I kinda expected a repackaged 5s of sorts. But at least 3GS to 4 we got double ram even though people argued a4 powering retina wasn't that much faster than 3GS CPU on non retina

1GB of RAM is already perfect for iPhone performance.

Android phones need more memory because the OEMs bloat the OS up with all their overlays and modifications.

But yeah nobody needs more actual RAM in an iOS device.

Are you Apple's PR person? Seriously...

Everything Apple does isn't perfect.

The pictures are useless. They didnt even focus on the same spot. I can tell you flat out the LG G3 camera is by far better than the 5s, so this would need to be a vast improvement.

Poor.. Hope this is false or the 5.5 is the real powerhouse. May as well keep my 5S if battery is the 'same great battery life as before' find out later.

I love how we're all conditioned into thinking a gigabyte isn't enough RAM to show a handful of webpages that download in a few seconds.

Just noticed those photos, if you look on the website where they come from the Exif Data says they are photos from an iPhone 5S a, Nubia Z7 and Smartisan T1 all real phones, no iPhone 6 mentioned.

Nice work. Hopefully it's a fake.

i have a tendency to open 20+ tabs on my pc and i can tell you this i can not do on my iphone5. would be nice if instead of the current ~5 it was doubled but i guess thats asking too much.

-peace out yo

I love how we're all conditioned into thinking a gigabyte isn't enough RAM to show a handful of webpages that download in a few seconds.

IF the iPhone 6 has 2GB of ram, AND NOT 500 "low-memory-logs", Safari/other app-crashes etc.

whats your take on that??

battery went down 1% in just 1 minute!! apple is doomed!!!

btw, don't we have full resolution of these screenshot? do they match with the rumored screen resolution? there's always missing information on all these rumors, they should rather call them 'teaser' :D

and lastly, from now on don't expect doubling of performance at each iteration, we clearly getting slower on this front, i hope that will cause more longevity of our devices!

I love how we're all conditioned into thinking a gigabyte isn't enough RAM to show a handful of webpages that download in a few seconds.

There's no conditioning. It isn't enough to keep them cached. Especially when you have a game or media heavy app also running. You'll have to reload each page which is annoying for productivity.

Nitpickig. You are an  :p

I can do better though, your (this) comment of yours was posted at 12.45 CET, so it's more than 6 hours, not only that, it will probably take some time before they show the new iPhone(s), more like 6 1/2 hour or more. :p

Yeah, that's true. We'll get all the stats and graphs first!!
