they should be powder coating them instead of this crappy chippy anodized finish.

Also pretty sure you can powder coat glass(Correct me if I'm wrong) covering glass in the parts it needs to see through.

Lol. Powder Coat is the last thing Apple would use for a finish. If you're suggesting that, then I'm assuming you have no experience with Powder Coating or metal finishings in general. Powder Coating would be a MASSIVE pain in the ass on small parts like the iPhone to achieve the same results they get now through anodizing.

While I'm expecting a liquid metal body for the iWatch and perhaps the phone, we must remember that a phone has multiple antennas. So you somehow have to divide up the metal body into a few parts for that reason. It can't be a single hunk of metal.
I'm pretty sure that can all be done on the same unibody Liquidmetal casing.

Don't worry it's a simple fact that people get on the internet and spew misinformation, opinions, and knowledge about things they have absolutely no knowledge about. It's a glorious world :)

I'd hope they make the battery even bigger than the current model and also account for extra power consumption of the newer model so that the battery lasts longer.

I can't even get 6 hours of minimal use before my battery drops below 50%. I end up charging it by 3pm and then again at 10pm before bed.

Read the entire post again. It likely isn't real.

That's what they said when the first iPad Mini back-plate leaked. It was obviously real. The back plate pictures here is most definitely real, the fronts looked rendered on. There is no way a fully assembled iPhone 6 is going to leak this early in the game.

Ignorance is bliss.

Apple leads. Not sure where you get your information. Look at everything from laptops to phones and tablets, everyone copies Apple, and they will continue to do so without regret or regard. Can't wait to see everyone copy Apple's wearable.

Apple leads? , lol. 2007 called.. they want their joke back.. I suppose you still think the model T Ford is the best car available as well.. I've seen religious. zealots with less devotion than ifans.. . As I say.. these comments are hilarious..

Why would they render on the front and the writing on the backplate if it was real??

Your punctuation is all I needed to see. Thanks.

It's a metal s4, can no one see this...

Oh yeah the Apple logo gave it away. We have ourselves a genius folks. HAHAH

You never use the home button? Ever?! You need a physical button for screen shotting, hard restarts and to enter DFU mode.

I agree that a physical home button is necessary and i want one but .... they could have the physical volume buttons do screen shots, hard resets and DFU mode.

If I recall, in your original post, you were saying the iPhone 6 is a copy of Samsung's phones.

Regardless, what do you expect? Everyone else copied Apple's form factor. Of course it looks like everything else out there. And since they pretty much hit upon the ideal form factor, there's nothing left but to keep making it faster, lighter, more durable, more secure, easier to use, and more functional.

If there were a better form factor, someone would have made it by now. Sorry that you feel like you're supposed to be blown away by revolutionary products every year, but that's not how Real Life works. And I don't see how you think it looks like every other phone. I can spot an iPhone 5 a mile away. This design looks nothing like any other device other than Apple's own iPads.

well in 'Real Life' Apple did it from 1999 -2012 (starting with the translucent all in one imac and to the iPhone 5, which you correctly pointed out...) so yes, i do expect the iphone 6 to continue that trend of looking different and ahead from the pack.

These mock-ups do not conform to that trend given that it has 0 differentiation to its competitors. which, if accurate, would be disappointing to me.

[*]I'd suspect it's too soon for Apple to be jumping to using curved glass and some of the other new technology that has been pitched for the iPhone 6. Gimmicky and unnecessary - not Apple's style. I also think they've been burnt in the past by pushing too far and being let down by their supply chain, thus not being able to satisfy early demand. Delays too. They won't do that again.

I do not understand the attraction of curved glass at any practical size for consumer TV sets, let alone telephone handsets. The angle of view is substantially reduced and it appears that whatever limited benefit there may be is restricted to an extremely small location from which it can be viewed.

(This is not sarcastic.) If someone can explain the benefit of curved glass in an iPhone, I would be interested in hearing the explanation.

TIA

I have no answer... although stretchy glass would be good. Fold it up in your pocket, stretch it out when you want to view movies or a website. I'm off to the patent office...

On a separate point, my iPhone 5 (no cover) keeps ripping holes in my trouser pockets (3 so far!). Am I the only person this happens to? I'd welcome a more rounded edge for that reason alone.

Every device small than an iPad mini would still cause most people to pinch and zoom. People even do it on iPads ironically.

The web browsing experience on a 4.7 inch phone is going to be nearly identical to what it is now. That's my point. Anything really really useful you need a much larger screen like an iPad.

I am not discounting pinch and zoom. I am saying that, from first hand experience on larger devices, reading text is a lot nicer.

I wholeheartedly disagree that the web experience will be the same as it is now. The web experience on the iPhone 5 and 5S isn;t even the same as it was on previous models because you get more content on the screen. And that is the entire point.

I remember reading a report on here a few months back about Apple releasing 2 different iPhones this year.. One early in the year with a similar form factor and one later in the year with a completely different design and more expensive. Maybe the one being release later in the year will be the curved glass iPhone?? There is nothing new with the design of the iPhone shown here.. basically it's an ipad mini-me.

More content doesn't always mean more readable content. Most still pinch to zoom and that wont change with a larger phone. Unless sites are mobile optimized. Tons aren't or look like crap if they are.

Is it possible that since the screen is much larger, it could act as a window for radio signals? Also, if it really is a legit prototype, why would an iPod have a speaker to hold up to your ear?

Hmm...
