So will the notch still be there?

If so, I would be disappointed. Not because I think the notch is great hindrance to usability, as I use an iPhone X with no issues.

But asthetically, I’ve seen designs that IMO look much nicer.

The galaxy series now with the hole punch design looks better if you ask me.

Other manufacturers who have greatly reduced the notch or even eliminated it are producing phones that look “futuristic” for lack of a better word.

The notch feels like yesterday’s design.

In a world with FOLDING phones (albeit with seemingly many kinks) the notch is the last thing I want to see in a 2019 smartphone.

My guess for 2020 is a very small notch, I don't think they will disappear just yet. Starting at 2,500 and an optional version with 24k gold cause Apple doesn't speak broke. I mean, Tim Cook basically made the iPhone a luxury device.

I find it funny how people are calling it ugly. First of all. It’s a shell. And 2nd of all...it’s an oblong rectangular structure. All smartphones are oblong rectangular structures these days. Y’all are just grasping at straws now looking for things to complain about. I bet 500 yrs from now people will still be complaining about phone design when all phones are clear sheets of some space age material that projects holograms in the air. Lol. It’s all about the software going forward now. And Apple knocks that out of the park.

Come the fall Keynote, once Apple demos the triple lens camera, it’s amazing how many comments in here will turn the opposite and say how they ‘want this phone’, or ‘they don’t even care how about the camera looks’, ect. I think it’s so easy to judge a mock up or render or even a shell of an iPhone, but it’s the experience that changes peoples perspective on new technology.

They either figure it out or I’ll live with the X for years. Honestly see absolutely no need to upgrade my X until the notch is eliminated...5g is just a bonus since it will be common by the time they figure out notch.

The notch whining is so tiresome. The notch is fine. It gives us more screen than the alternatives, indicates clearly which end is up, and frankly, if you went back in a time machine 20 years you’d all be amazed that such a thing would even be possible.

design used to be Apple's main strength...look at them now,this is HORRIBLE.
Mac and iPad are doing great..but iPhone is in worst situation design wise.

At this point I think it's fair to say things have solidified around this design so 99% this is what we're getting in September... I hope the Camera performance is worth it for that huge carbuncle of a bump on the back!

Yet another example of “arrogant” being used wrong (see earlier in thread).

The camera is where it is because when you hold the phone in your left hand and use the volume button as a trigger, you are guaranteed not to be covering the upper left corner.

Design is how it works, not what it looks like.

This is getting out of hand!!! Apple is sitting stale in the water when the rest of the industry is pushing forward with more radical design changes. I understand Apple has always been the type to wait for tech to mature a bit more. But this is getting me worried and I may just hold onto my 7+ for yet another year. DAT JET BLACK BABY

The kind Apple makes . I really got my hopes up with iPhone X and bought one. First time I’m skipping two generations of iPhones. And not because of the price but because of no new useful features and no new nice looking designs. I hope they’re smart enough to put in usb-c at least. That might get them some units sold.

When Apple release the iPhone with an integrated notch that disappears under the screen and reappears when required, as well as cameras flush with the phone, and put an extra battery in all of that space — ultimate iPhone.
