Every day when I'm driving down the freeway I see champagnes colored cars on the road. My sister just bought a champagne colored Lexus SUV. I don't think that color is unpopular in the USA.

Champaign was popular in the 90's. Tons of Lexus cars were champaign during that time. My friend had a champaign Lexus SUV, I think its their staple color for that car.

Yes, Apple would NEVER make a gold product.......

It's funny how some of you guys who think you know so much about Apple, clearly have no idea.

I gotta say, this champagne color in the leaks/mockup looks beautiful. I actually want one, really bad.

Gold is pretty hip right now

I getting gold for sure unless they come out with Metallic RED. my problem is now getting a case that can emphasize the color.

Please no. Will not be buying a gold phone. If Apple is trying to stay for the high class/only some people can afford it, I think they thought about it too literally.

My guess is this is for the 5C and headed to the China and possibly Japan markets (check out the many "champagne" variations of electronics sold in Japan).

it's not hideous...and if the gold is indicative of some high-end version, then it could be a sign of prestige...which is all that matters in life anyway

You're a joke. You think NFC matters when ios7 brings in airdrop? AirDrop is so much better.
So all android has is the screen size? Okay.
Samsung = gimmick features

Eh... looks like you're a joke. NFC and Airdrop are completely different things. And Airdrop is the true joke here, a proprietary Apple gimmick; a gimmick artificially limited to some devices. Something like "Wifi-Direct" comes close to it...

NFC has many nice features, like using tags for different settings (at work, in the car..); or public transport tickets, payment and so on.

You should look things up before you look plain stupid, because you don't know what you're talking about.

Thank you.

So.... The yearly wait is almost over and we get a new and improved iPhone 5S. The gotta have new features are, now wait for it, a CPU bump, camera megapixel bump and groovy new colors!
I'm gonna camp out for this thing... In all seriousness, I'm really pumped my APPL stock is trajecting higher by the day (not sure why) but if Allthings Digi is correct about the 5S not having fingerprint technology or any new features, I'll be bummed.....

This isn't directed at you per se but rather in general for everyone who has expressed an opinion about the color.

I believe, and I could be wrong, but the people who are rolling their eyes over the color isn't because of the color but rather the fact that it's so obvious that it's meant to drive sales because if the phone was released as-is, it would be nearly identical to the 5, which is why the 5c replacing the 5 rumor makes sense. If you are excited over the gold color, great, but please don't make it more than just about color, recognize you're buying last year's tech, just in a new color. The color is the killer feature.

i think the color is the real one from the aluminium case..that champagne but the top and bottom will not be the same with the white/silver or black/slate...probably will be kind something else

Not much longer untill Donald Trump tweets to thank Tim Cook for finally producing an iPhone he can be seen with.

Seriously -- smart marketing move for China & India. They love "champagne" color on their gadgets & cars.

I disagree. I think it's more the shiny, brassy brighter deep gold they love.
Not the champagne.
