While other 'puter manufacturers didn't all go pinstripes (yet), they will obviously copy the entire aluminum look, so Apple will come up with something new to keep ahead of the game (eventually). someone mentioned the aluminum dents easily, so the disply could be adjusted with a hammer --- perhaps hammered steel will be the next "look"? or maybe everything will be transparent to a degree...? any thoughts from forward-thinking designers out there?
Maybe for the 23-inchers, but what about the 17- and 20-inchers? Have you seen the 20-inch iMac? The screen adjustability is awesome. And like another poster said, a 23-incher (and the rumored 30-incher) would be something a lot of people might want to use as a TV. You might want to keep it in one position for working, then redirect it so you can watch from your couch.macnews said:This would be nice. Not so much for adjustability for me. I have 2 23" at work and they don't need much adjusting. I just really have to wonder if this will be true. How long has this "rendition" been around anyway?
Same here. Knowing that its LCDs (liquid crystal displays), it seemed plausible too ....question fear said:I read the title and pictured aluminum leaking out of a display!!!!!!

With 1 micron precision directly out of the mold, you'd think that might help with quality control.![]()

carletonmusic said:As far as pricing is concerned, I hope Apple does reduce the cost for the lower models - even the 23". But to be honest, the 23" is priced better than most similar sized models out there. A 30" inch.....would that go for $2499 or $2999??

Back to the roots ...
The only reason Apple's products are so expensive because they know you people will buy them.
They know their stuff is more expensive than their competitors, but they also know that mac users, for whatever reason, dont care and will buy it anyway.
If there is a product, works great, looks sweet, fully customizeable and is cheap, PC users (aka the majority of consumers) will buy it.
If the same product was 3x more expensive, only it had a cute little Apple on it, Apple users would buy it over the other one...
I truly don't get it...Apple has great products, don't get me wrong - but they take advantage of their consumers at a ridiculously high amount.
I will never understand why you mac users will buy anything apple sells, regardless if its price is way above its quality...
If people simply refused to buy apple products and buy the competition, Apple would quickly realize that the only way they have a chance is if they price their items similarly.
Face it - Apple computers are great, but they are not so much greater than the comptetition that they need to be 3 times more expensive - now you can try to justify their price all you want, but its still not going to change a thing.
Apple sells at a high price simply because they can. Mac users will buy Apple stuff at any cost, so any hopes for reasonable prices from Apple to EVER happen can just be tossed out the window.
(not flaming anyone - I like Apple stuff - but you cannot deny that their prices are ridiculous)
