Much more so than aluminium, that stuff causes Alzheimers disease!
What about Ti?
Is it better than Al for environmental purposes?
If so,
Apple, please go back to it.

To tell you the honest truth of mine, I think it looks better than the aluminium PowerBook G4s and MacBook Pros.
Apple should have sticked with Titanium PowerBook G4 design. Maybe improved it to solve the "crack issues" it had.
The design was because of the titanium... it allowed them to make it very thin. And the crack issues were because of the titanium... it is very strong, but cracks.
I think the only way to "solve the crack issues" was to ditch the titanium.
That is too bad. What a great and beautiful laptop the Ti PowerBook G4 was.

Yeah. It was built 6 years ago, yet was the same thickness and weight as the current 15" MBP... despite having a much hotter processor. Titanium is pretty excellent that way.
I'm pretty sure it's the opposite.![]()
You don't need to worry about aluminium unless you have kidney problems(excessive alcohol consumption is a real issue though)If you do have kidney problems should limit your exposure to aluminium or face dimentia.
Titanium has no health issues that I'm aware of.I would imagine Apple had design problems resulting from using it too sparingly to save money.
What other metals can Apple use besides Aluminium?
If they are more environmental-friendly metals and can still make Macs look beautiful in design, why is Apple so obsessed/stuck with Aluminium?
Please let it be the last and release the bloody MBs already!
I see.Because it's cheap and light. The same reason the aerospace industry is obsessed with it.
I would not mind it but I would want to see a Titanium MacBook the most. 2nd choice: Black Aluminium MacBook.Hey, I'd buy that!![]()
Well, there is quite a bit of anecdotal evidence pointing in that direction. Very few non-@$$holes open a conversation with "I think youre a slime bucket"...I hear that he is actually a complete @$$hole.
I have no problem with companies wanting to make truckloads of money. They're not running charity organizations or flower powery think tanks for the betterment of the planet. But I think it's nice if they toss people some goodwill bones every once in a while, if only to at least convey an illusion of being in it for more than just the money. My gripe with Apple has always been that there's never the slightest hint of goodwill, no give and take, only blood-sucking greed at every turn. The obscene profit margins... the monopolization tendencies... the way that each product is a portal to a pandora's box of money-making schemes that tie into eachother... the way they force you to buy ludicrously overpriced accessories... the way the iPods are designed (sealed battery, intentionally scratch-prone exterior, incremental upgrades within a few months, ground-up model replacement each year) to maximize the likelihood of the user buying a new one every month. Really, it's OK to want my money and not be shy about it, but I hate it when they shove their arm down your throat and pull out your intestines to see if you're hiding any more coins. Not that he isn't somewhat justified in being a little arrogant, but a lot of people have him out to be this big visionary that wants to change the world and bring peace to the earth along with amazing movies for children and utopian visions of grandeur.
In fact he is a businessman out to make money.... not a bad thing at all... but let's bring Steve back down to earth.

Apple has the money to do so if they please.Aluminium is cheap.
Their best move would be to go to strengthened glass with rubber bumpers(as in car bumpers)That would IMO be green and look great. They would need different ventilation, but that would be achievable, especially with the lower voltage processors.
Apple has the money to do so if they please.
That would be future-tech looking and is an awesome idea.
If I was in control of Apple, I would transition to that idea.
Consumer (MacBook, iMac) = BlackAwesome.
Maybe the next MacBook should have a black Apple logo?
Probably not, unless it was (PRODUCT) RED and there were other colors.Does anybody see a red MacBook coming?

another alu notebook with some black trim would be rather pedestrian.
You really hit the nail on the head there.
Apple has engineered the heck out of the MBP and come up with a very elegant design. But... it's just old. Other laptops are starting to look like it. It's time for them to come up with something new again.

What about this "alien-looking" MacBook Pro?
for me, that type of design would fit better a macbook
any thoughts?
Agreed, the MacBook would be better for this design but it does look very high-tech though.
it does indeed, if the macbook were going to look like this, I'd be very very happy to buy one![]()
