hey , I never got the joke

what the funnest is suppose to mean
Like whats the difference then writting funniest if its not that they look stupid???

A lot of people use the term "funnest," but it is not really a word. The appropriate way to express that sentiment is "most fun." But that doesn't have quite the same ring to it, I guess... It's usually young people using the term "funnest" (I refuse to call it a word), and since the iPod is marketed mostly to young people, I guess it's an attempt to appeal to them.... And the lowest common denominator of them, to boot...

What are the chances of something coming tomorrow according to your calculations?

Closer to 0% than 1%

IF we are to expect new case designs on these puppies, which I think we are - for the macbook pro at least, then there will be an event and we'll know a couple of weeks in advance. (Sep. 30 - event announced for Oct 14?)

If there are to be no new designs, just some lame speed bumps, then there won't be an event, it will be any day now and we'll be waiting until January for the 'real' upgrade. :(

Here's my views:

Redesign (MacBook, MacBook Pro): Extremely low.
If last-minute rumors appear: Kinda high
If no last-minute rumors appear: Basically 0

Update (MacBook Air): Very low.
If last-minute rumors appear: High
If no last-minute rumors appear: Extremely low

So I'd say it all depends on the rumors coming in the next nine or so hours.

I'm also interested in your views on this.

at least two people said something was coming WWDC
Give any somewhat probable date and I'm sure at least two people will say something is coming on that date. :p

Not me; I'll be holding out because I hate the tapered sides and need an optical drive. :(

I love the MBA design and would be attempted to buy a refurb but still overpriced. I have a reasonably powered imac so I just need something portable to take to uni with me.

Don't think it will be tomorrow, No buzz from apple side, but that happens sometimes with apple... In the meanwhile we are talking about the almost the all segment of apple notebooks, and that need some circumstance. It's not a trivial upgrade this one...

I don't know if there is something agented for the October 14, any keynote or something, is there something, if there isn't it's perfectly plausible that the MBP's only appear in january 2009. And that's so bad for me ... because I have to buy a machine until the mid/end of October Month... :(

If there a keynote for the 14th, it will be announced either tomorrow or next week at the latest.

well, sometimes, ther is absolutely no rumors and they update the thing(like last years with the mac pro)
so I dont think we should listen to rumors, because most of the time(mostly for computers than for ipods), its totally wrong

so we never no, an update could happen tomorrow, really, why not?:)

Nothing's happening tomorrow...

I agree with Dan. Nothing will happen tomorrow or the Tuesday after.

tell me why you think it will happen the 14th, because a random dude said so?
how many rumors said it will happen the 14th(maybe im wrong :p)

I think…

October 14, 2008: MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro (NVIDIA chipset)
November 2008: iMac (NVIDIA chipset), Mac mini ("Santa Rosa Special")
MWSF 2009: Mac tablet, mini-tablet, iLife '09, iWork '09
Q1 2009: Mac Pro, Xserve (Nehalem)
H1 2009: Maybe a notebook speed bump (+133 MHz)
Mid 2009: iMac speed bump and other updates
2010: Nehalem (for the rest of the line)!! :D

I don't know, but the 14th has been brought up time and time again on many websites, not just MR. So I would GUESS there might be some truth in it, maybe not. IT'S ALL RUMORS.

Every Monday kids on here get their panties in a bunch and scream about all the updates that are coming the next day. And their always wrong, until the next Monday where the cycle restarts. It's really pathetic, actually.

If anything for tomorrow, it'll be the announcement of a media event. No new hardware.

Trying to bump up the stock a bit after today? :(

remember the macbook replacing the ibook, well it was big changes
there was no media event. we dont need one :D
Besides, there was one 2 weeks ago. Apple doesn't need an event for every new product:apple:
