I figured I'd give him all I could in a couple minutes.. :D

Edit: That's what SHE said....

Yup, I'm a girl :D When I say "beat", I mean the speediness of opening programs, multitasking etc

Hahaha...I wasn't trying to point out your gender as much as playing off some innuendo. Good to see girls exist on the internet afterall :p

One of the better "Thats what she said's" ive seen on the interwebs.

But... to police the non-academic intertubes about how one would "get shot" for putting modern slangified jargon in their thesis is quite the stretch.

There's this thing called "exaggeration" that people sometimes employ to make a figurative point...

The high horse comment doesn't come from the policing, it comes from making sure everyone on the forum understands your level of academic stature... even though this is a world of anonymity (in most cases, anyway.)

I'm not the one who picked the fight, my friend.

It remains quite obvious to most of us that whenever anyone uses those little letters that come after their name in an anonymous environment, they are doing it for their own gratification... which places them on a high horse.

Ironically, nobody is looking back up.

I don't see any letters by my name.

(btw, the hard-space after your sentences is not APA, which suggests you aren't quite as well respected in your thesis as you'd like to believe.)

[/hypocrite graemlin]

I didn't mention my field, did I? I don't use APA in it. ;) In closing, if you had taken note of the verb tense used when I spoke about my thesis, you would know that I haven't yet done it.

EDIT: You are correct in calling me out for remarking on grammar here. My initial statement was made regarding the grammar employed by the company to which this forum is dedicated ("The funnest iPod ever" in the new iPod ads), so I considered it semi-relevant at the time I made the post. I realize now, however, that it was rather pointless. Thus, the forum has my apologies and I will refrain from such commentary in the future.

If it was going to be midnight, it would be midnight in San Fransisco which is an hour away yes?

Yes, it's 11:00 PM here in California. The lack of rumors make me very doubtful of anything coming tomorrow. I still have a tiny bit of hope that Apple has done an exellent job of keeping it a secret, but that is a very little amount of hope.

I completely agree, this rumor seems to have been plucked out of thin air. The only basis it seems to have is the AppleTV related information given to a blog. Even though that blog is reputable, I just don't think this rumor has gained enough traction to make me believe anything is happening tomorrow.

I think we'll definitely see a big notebook announcement within the next month, I just don't think we will tomorrow.

So in 40 minutes time it is 12am San Fransisco time?

Maybe they will be released at 9am? It's midnight in cali right now and their are no updates to apples website.

Why not the 7th? Seems like there are some sources indicating the 14th, but surely the 7th is no less likely than today (ie not likely but not impossible).

This is your funnest comment ever! Actually, your previous one was funner. I'm not sure, let me think for a sec an decide which one is funnest.

As I said, I just have this feeling either the MBs or MBAs could be updated tomorrow and the MBPs on the 14th. If something was happening tomorrow, most likely the MBAs would get a speedbump. The MBAs have gone the longest without an update and they wouldn't be getting a major redesign. No insider info, just a hunch. And mowingdevil are you in canada or aus at the moment? :D

Well thats kinda what I thought however some people seem convinced Apple wouldn't release the MB before MBP....although they have before. The reasoning is the MB would be almost as good or slightly better (in some ways) than the Pro making it obsolete in comparison. They might have a point however I don't think the majority of notebook purchasers are on the fence, they either MB users or Pro depending on what they need it for and their budget. I know some people go back and forth but its not the majority. Put it this way, if the MB comes first I'm not going to run out & buy it, I'm only considering the new Pro.

I'm in Aus right now why?

Event the 14th of October??

Hey guys.. and girls.. i'm getting a bit worried..

I read some where that Apple could sometime not anounce an event op to 14 days before the event..

and there's 14 days to the 14th today, and Apple haven't anounced anything..

does this mean that we should not expect anything on the 14th, or does it just mean there's gonna be no event and they'r just gonna release it on Apple store?

I'm only iterrested in the MB, just so you know :p

Thanks
