I don't understand what you'r saying?

I just meant anything is possible.

I read some where that Apple could sometime not anounce an event op to 14 days before the event..
Some events have lots of notice, some have less than a week.

and there's 14 days to the 14th today, and Apple haven't anounced anything..
True, but that doesn't rule out the 14th. Also, just because it doesn't come on the 14th, doesn't mean it's never coming. ;) People are speaking about the 14th like it's the end of the world, or some magical date or something.
does this mean that we should not expect anything on the 14th, or does it just mean there's gonna be no event and they'r just gonna release it on Apple store?
Like I said, anything is possible. If Apple were predictable, they wouldn't be Apple. :apple: :)

Your rigth.. I just can't wait, that's all..

I would just love a date, you know, a really Apple confirmed date for an event, so I had something to stick to.

I'm affried I'm gonna buy the MacBook they have now simply because I can't wait any longer..but..

I gotta be strong!!

anyway - thanks a lot for the ansaws. :)

Apple being all 'hush hush' is good but it can get annoying...:(

I hear that!!

I understand them.. they counldn't sell anything if they told us about a new MB line but I just can't wait anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please Apple.. update the MB as fast as possiable.. School's getting boring and I have the feeling school would be a lot more fun if I had a MacBook to take a long with me.. !

GO :apple:

Why did the Oxford English Dictionary cross the road?

"Bling" is an entirely new word, and I have no problem accepting that and others like it (those that have been coined to convey a new idea). However, when poorly educated and/or indolent folk take huge, hot, steaming dumps ("funner," "funnest") all over pre-existing, proper ways of expressing things ("more fun," "most fun"), I take issue. Especially when that kind of laziness begins to bleed into the general population. I refuse to kowtow to those who can't be bothered to speak proper English. If that puts me on a "high horse," so be it.

I can say with 100% certainty, though, that if I were to use the word "funnest" in my graduate thesis, I'd be dragged out into the street and shot. That word is not well-received at any self-respecting institution of higher education, or by any person who has attended one. Go ahead, though, keep using it if you want. There are people like me everywhere in positions of power who will judge you for it. ;)

Perhaps you're so immersed in your research you overlooked my point. Language is an evolving beast and never stagnant. How else can it be explained that people speaking English today sound so different than 300 years ago? I wonder, prior to Oxford admitting bling in 2002 would you have accepted it? I think not, but what makes a sound a word or not a word? Is it Oxford, as the be all end all in academic standards? Is it God? Is it Alex Trebek? Is it an agreement among people in a society? How does language *ever* evolve if there is set rules and anything beyond those confines would be deserving of a bullet?

It obviously doesn't matter what M-W has to say on this matter according to your reaction. I wonder though, why would Oxford ever add ghetto slang to their prestigious Engish Language Dictionary? ...when there was always a "pre-existing, proper ways of expressing" such things. Why does Oxford give in and not hold their ground by sticking to their own rules? According to your example, and perhaps Oxford, people should only speak in the same manner as you would word your graduate thesis. With all the bullets flying about who would dig our ditches?

So in summary you would consider the people of Apple to be poorly educated and their new iPod campaign to be one "huge, hot, steaming dump?"

For the record, I have attended said "ivory tower" (as I'm sure plenty of members here have) and, although I don't tend to use the term "funnest," I oddly don't have a problem w/ Apple doing so. It was a slogan and the term just works. It would be like affectionately saying to someone "you're the bestest friend ever" tongue in cheek. I would hazard a guess this was a tad intentional on Apple's part. You have called this discussion a fight that was picked which suggests you might do to let your hair down a bit <---:p ...but thank you for the warning that the smart educated people like yourself are everywhere...with the good jobs...and have the power...and will be waiting to judge the funnest ones. (*Arn, where's the dang smiley with the tongue in cheek?)

That could so much be the new MBP's

They look awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you guys think is real ??

how big do those screens look to you guys?

would love to see a macbook with a bigger screen

Well.. I'd say that's about the same.. around 15-17"

I don't think we'll see bigger screens on the MBP.. IMO they'll be too big then..

Do you guys think is real ??

It's difficult to imagine someone getting a glimpse of one.

Someone getting a chance to get one booted up and get yet another one sitting next to it seems unreasonable.

looks like a painted pro. I tried to sift through google china all I saw was the same pics we saw. Perhaps if I knew chinese I could find something

I think we have seen enough bad mockups of MBPs with black bezels and/or top cases simply because the iMac has one.

The same thing goes for the ones that have all these USB ports like they are actually needed or useful. Can we get some real creativity now? Maybe something that isn't a refinement of an already bad mockup?

ahhhh my eyes! take it away, it burns!

P.S. Apple doesn't even need adds. It's best advertisment is it's competition.... this is a great example.
